  1. OK,I'll be patient - until Tues AM which will have given them a week.
  2. I believe I'm in the same boat as LazyDazy in that on Sat,29th,I was in Benedicts queue as it slowly meandered its way as these queues do.At about 5:40ish a Showmasters 'official' in a red top (def higher up the pecking order to normal crew) started pacing back & forth counting the numbers waiting. When I/we got within touching distance of the booth the line was stopped. The time 6:03 and Benedict had to go.Very disappointed but these things happen. The 'Red Top' chap move people who were coming back on Sunday-4 or 5- to one side and the rest of us 15+ were apologised to and told to go to the reg desk for a refund. As I had a flight to catch I did not have time to a) find this desk and then wait so on Monday I sent a msg to Showmasters via Eventbrite but have heard nothing back. There is no way I am losing £76 for no fault of my own.
  3. I posted the following on the 'General' board and a mod replied that the topic had previously been covered, gave me a link and 'locked' my post. However the mod was somewhat in error as the request for downloadable thumbnails was a secondary request. The main request was for instant printed pics. Here goes again :- I attended a brand new con at the w/end which, although it had major problems at the beginging,or more precisely prior the begining, worked very well. Now,I mention the following on this forum as I am,and have been,a big fan of Showmasters and I consider them to be No1.However,as they themselves often say, there is always room for improvement. On my way home from aforementioned con,I realised that I felt much more relaxed than I normally felt on leaving previous cons,no matter who ran them.I eventually twigged the reason.I am a photo-shoot person and at this con you had your photo taken in the normal (how could it be any different?) manner then on leaving the booth your photo was handed to you,in a nice binder.Job done in 20secs and the quality matched any from other shows. There was no "is xxxxx back yet" to the photo desk crew (who,by the way,are all saints),there were no masses of people hanging round the pick-up tables either waiting for their pics or just rubber-necking which led to a serene,if not a bit surreal, experience which I hope Showmasters will copy. The printer/s used were not that big, were hooked up to laptops the same as other shows and, another great feature, you received a code and a web-site address where you can d/load a thumbnail of your pic. There were 5 photo areas and all had this system. I just hope Showmasters can implement this system, preferably by this years LF&CC.

  5. My David Tennant photo's arrived today. As usual in perfect condition and VERY fast.Thank you to whoever sent them and enjoy 2 days serious lie-ins,you earned them
  6. Thank you to the crew both at the photo-shoots (A& and the photo collection area. Also special mention to the young lady looking after Diana Riggs Q who listened to my request and offered her best solution and to the young lass,on Sunday, who had to manage Paul McGann's sudden 'virtual Q' with no marker board so everyone with a ticket had to pester her (I know I did). She remained pleasant the whole time. If Showmasters crew were given a financial rating it would top Germany's
  7. I'm glad you posted the above as I did find the way she looked at the photo-shoot patrons was akin to "What are they doing here?" and she seemed completely robotic/devoid of emotion. Now I can look at her in a different light.
  8. Thank you for all your hard work.I am surprised I did not hear(220 miles away) your cheer as the last pics were matched up.
  9. Over the years of attending Showmasters events I have always marvelled at the number, and quality,of the guests, the organisation and the crewing of the events and, incredibly, the fact that the prices have been frozen for so long.Reading Jason's opening to this topic was an eye-opener to what happens 'behind the scenes' and what is not fully appreciated by most people, understandably. With one niggle these events are brilliant to attend and I,among many, wish them to continue for a long, long time. Oh,that one niggle - The Photo-Shoot Pick Up Area or Not Pick Up Area. This is the only niggle that persists and defies a solution. My suggestion - A cordoned off walk-way past the table/s and 2? crew members of a different mentality.Instead of crewing this area with the normal nice people hire 2? blunt,in your face types with the mantra "if you don't see your pic in 5 secs move on and let someone else look".They could have their own tops, say a nice black with the slogan 'Yes,I'm talking to you,numb-nuts' emblazoned in red. I feel the above is the answer you have been looking for
  10. As usual the crew are a credit to themselves,Showmasters & fandom.I particularly want to thank the crews at all the 3 photo shoots for being very friendly and willing to have a laugh.I want to single out the young man in shoot A with spikey hair and 'trendy' lobes,Too Tall for allowing my autograph ticket to be used at shoot B (my fault completely) and the red-top at shoot C who was a pleasure to talk to. Whoever hires these young people really knows their stuff.
  11. I have just received an e-mail from Showmasters saying that my order,No 10824,has been rejected for LF&CC 2011.The order was placed July, **2009** and,as I look at all my photo-ops from the 2009 show,I do recall actually attending the event with tickets from the now 'cancelled' order. Obviously there has been a hiccup in the system but,if this is not the case,I will expect my refund at the soonest and,in the spirit of good will,I will waive any interest that would have accrued between 2009 and now :-)
  12. If they are the ones with the 'gold' plates where the info is etched on then bad news. The lady is American and is now back home (hers).
  13. Patrick is probably in shock hearing that Gordo is resigning :-)
  14. Me too, I can only make it Sat and Sun. What a bummer Just to jump on the photo shoot wagon I am coming from Northumberland and can only afford to 'stop over' one night (Sat) so an extra photo op would be much appreciated.I assume one of the reasons for a Monday only shoot is to attract people but it does tend to penalise the majority (personal assumption:-))
