  1. WOW THAT QUICK things have changed, thank you buying the ticket tommorow.
  2. im in a bit off a delema hope someone can help, it has been years since I attended one of these events , my main reason for going has had to cancel, this has freed up some cash for a photoshoot with the wookiees I would like, according to the sceduale this is at 5pm on Saturday, will the pictures be ready by closing time, sadly there is no chance of me coming back sunday (I was lucky to get Saturday off work) and im not keen on the idea of anything being posted threw my leter box (had one or 2 items arrive in less than perfect condition thank you royal mail) .
  3. this news has definatly put a downer on my week, with my plans to go to L.A. in November scuppered this was going to be my top event for the year, im not necicerly going to be happy if he gets booked for lfcc in july as I already tried to book days of work for that to meet Christina riccie and got told NO.
  4. here are my pics hopefully this lot will come out ok.

  6. i just recently saw the show BURN NOTICE and he was very good in that.
  7. 3 things to say 1 A most exelent guest 2 got to have a photo shoot 3 she will need a decent selection of 10 by 8s not just from back to the future, should include - howard the duck, caroline in the city, red dawn, some kind of wonderfull and the wild life.
  8. I know why he cancelled, he heard i was going to be there every con or event he is listed for that i attend he ends up cancelling every con or event i cannot make it to he's there usualy haveing a great time its a conspiricy i tell you
  9. we have missed out on meeting her twice, i think its the venue of being in london, lets hope manchester has the charm
  10. yeah i saw him too, at that point he was sorting his stuff out to pack away as a big security guard was watching over him got to admire his cheek
  11. I was just watching the video that is posted on here and im sure thats matty sitting behind jewel reading a magazine, take a look.
  12. this was one of the cheepest events for me mostly as i had almost run out of cash before i got there, i did get helen and adrieane's autos and they were both happy to pose for pics which you will see in my photobucket link. the rest are from the sunday costume competition, sorry my camara is not the best. http://s13.photobucket.com/albums/a275/GOR...ECTAMANIA%2012/ i realy felt sorry for the young girl who was running it, she had no idea who papa lazarus was so a vader version totaly threw her, it was well funny. cedric, nevil and krum came 3rd, the 2 leia's came second and little adria won. i had to miss out on meeting , kevin sorbo, erick avari, dave lee, robert picardo, leslie philips and ian macniece, i would also liked to have seen jewel staite just to say hi and get a stargate photo but to be fair she would have to have been last on the list as i have had the good fortune of meeting her several times before. oh if only i had won the lottery last week dispite my poverty i had a good day.
  13. im going to see her tommorow, does she have any 10 by 8's of her in the legand of billie jean ?
  14. look in the guest days and prices topic at the top of this forum, all the info you need is there.
  15. i'd love to see one of the spinners (flying police cars ) from bladerunner
  16. john travolta dosen't have a house does he ? i thought he lived in his own mini airport !
  17. There are 3 main reasons why fans miss out on meeting there faverite celebrities, 1 - the event is cancelled 2 - the guest cancels 3 - the fan cannot make it to the event now if i put it in turms of percentages, over the last 9 years that i have done events of all sorts i have run up a list as long as my arm of guests i have missed out on the split would be something like this 1 - event cancelled 5% 2 - guests cancelled 75% 3 - i could not make the event 20% now it could be argued that the guests who signed there contracts and turned up to meet there fans could equaly turn round and point there finger at me and anyone else who didnot turn up and say " you claimed to be my fans, where were you ? you broke the fandom contract " can rich5wolves honestly say his percentage for # 3 would be 0% ? here is the bitter truth about showbiz, with the exception of a film company run promo event our support of our personal faverite guests at events like c12 will do bugger all for there careers, it will do there self asteam a world of good but the bottom line is the more screen time you have the better your career prospects and that means our only true way to support them is to let them go do there jobs and act then go show our support for them to the film companys and go see the film at the cinema or buy the dvd. go look threw your dvd or video collection and see how many actors in films or shows older than 5 years who you loved when they were well in the public eye still have careers , some of them im very sure still have a huge fan base. as far as the idea of only announceing the guest line up one month in advance, apart from the good reasons already stated concerning holidays, travel and accomadation and the fact most guests that have to cancel do so on average 2 to 3 weeks before the event the other big reason is US the fans, we live in a sociaty that is constantly changeing and becomeing more demanding, we want what we want and we want it now, not in 5 minutes or when its ready . just think back to the first time this message board was set up or the first events, when something didnot go quite right or a guest had to cancel it was" oh dear thats a shame" not now, i know some organisers who have recieved death threats over cancelled guests and personal abuse to staff and stewards over the length of time in ques and other trivial things. how many times have you been in a slow moveing que because the guests were being polite and giveing everyone some personal time then overhear some impatient twit witering about it takeing to long , then they get there and end up takeing more time than most everyone else, funnely enough it is usualy the same twit who complains about not getting enough time with the guests when the ques are pushed along and he has only qued for 5 minutes. i don't beleave there is an answer to this thread as it all depends on your personal point of view and since we are all different it would be fair to say showmasters cannot win just make a good effort. so let us all look forward to a good event , meet some interesting guests and old and new friends. (p.s. if this ramblings makes no sence just put it down to the head injury i recieved from my bike accident a few weeks ago)
  18. e-mail on the way, thanks kurgan
  19. JEAN RENO would be an awsome guest but also a hard one to get, his status in france is the equivelant to brad pitt in the states . id be honest and say if SM got jean reno and then the rest of the guests were the uglies and least talented bunch on the planet id still pay the entrance fee
  20. this is for JAEL001 sorry i cannot seem to contact you any other way, if you still have the joe pantiliano autograph i'd be interested in buying it from you, he is one of the guests i missed out on. kurgan
  21. jewels attendance should also keep the stargate fans happy as she is now a regular on atlantis
  22. I have this prop book from one of the season 4 episodes of highlander the series, i got it at a charity auction at the first con i went to and was just going to stash it away then thought it would make a perfect autograph collection item so i now use it just for highlander related autos, i have over 30 in there so far. there were 2 versions make , im still looking for the second version
  23. I ended up only getting autos from 3 people but they were the 3 i wanted (would have been 4 if torri had been there ) . ANITA DOBSON, i got a text from my friend at the event at 14.25 saying she was leaveing at 14.30, i had just got of the tube and was at the cash machine outside at the time, i managed to race in and no sm staff new where anita was till i met another friend who took me over there , she was getting ready to go but i made it in time, a very lovely woman, well worth me rushing about for, she signed my highlander prop book and a photo and also possed for a photo with me, very friendly. she was going to a friends birthday party on sunday so i hope she had a great time. CHRISTOPHER MALCOLM , very friendly guy , we chatted about some of the filming for highlander, he didnot have that many pics to chose from but i got a nice star wars one and he signed my book and posed for a photo with me. DANNY DYER, there was a bit of a que for him so it was a short visit but he was very friendly and signed my book. i was intending to come back sunday and get adrien and some others but could not make it in the end.
  24. Got to admit i was not very impressed with the venue, the lighting was ok to poor depending on where you were in the hall at the time, the few pics i took came out very dark and my camara copes with low light very well. won of my friends did twist her ankle on some bolts sticking out of the floor and she is not a clumsy person who dose not look where she is going. it would probubly be a good idea if you have the next one there to do a map each day , just get one BIG white board, write the guests names down ether side and then a rough map of the venue and lines going from the guests name to where they are in the hall and put it at the entrance, this would also take some of the pressure off your help desk people. don't now how crowded the venue was sunday but on saturday it was at least big enough for free movement which was nice. my 2 peneth
