  7. Ok, so I'm thinking of selling one of my costumes, as I'm planning on remaking it.... Its my Glinda "Bubble Dress" from wicked, and I thought I would ask you guys what you thought of it, and If you had any suggestions as to how much I should sell it for and where I should put it up on. At the moment im thinking ebay. This is the dress If anyone could help me with this id be greatful. I wanna make my new one soon, and selling this one would be a huge help in financing it p.s. please ignore how stupid I look in that photo....not a nice shot of me *hides*
  8. okay I'm not sure I get this, say if for example during the talk your desperate for the loo, so you have to leave the hall. Can we be re admitted into the hall, as TooTall you said earlier that the hall will be open for people to go in at specific times?
  9. So so many songs - the ones that spring to mind are from musicals atm The whole of Miss Saigon - especially the ending For good - Wicked Who wants to live forever - the WWRY harmonys get me every time pretty much any song from les mis.... erm yeah. I'm a sucker for a good song oooo and a song called "my brother Lived in San Fancisco" from a show called "elegies for punks, angels and raging queens" It is actually amazing that song.
  10. I not doing my costume now, coz Im crewing sat, and on sunday i'm gonna go to wicked day- might be a brunette glinda there, not 100% certain if I will. Sorry guys who are doing the Wicked/ Wizard of Oz group
  11. I thought I may as well add to this thread. How much would an extra autograph with a guest cost?
  12. Your quite right, the hall has had a thing now about people sleeping out for a few years now. So its almost like your not actually allowed to start the queue till early morning - its crazy I kno. In recent years tho, the queues pretty much have a rule for when the queue grows unless its a popular concert, there just arnt that many diehard proms goers that will queue all day for a concert unless they can get days off work. Did you prom in 2003? Thats the year I started as a season ticket holder.
  13. Wear whatever the heck you want - I've seen plenty of people there in jeans and rock-band T-shirts. Prices? Different proms have different pricings, depending on how popular they are likely to be/how prestigious the orchestra is. For the cheapest-priced proms, seats start at £6. And if you want to do the traditional "promming" (standing down on the floor), it's a fiver, but those tickets aren't bookable, so you need to queue for those; no problem for some proms, but for others you'll have a few who sleep outside overnight and I can remember sizeable queues being present from lunchtime onwards. Oh yes, and it's a whole different story for the Last Night; generally you need to qualify for that with previous attendance. For this year's prices, and other useful info, see http://www.bbc.co.uk/proms/2007/howtobook/tickets.shtml http://www.bbc.co.uk/proms/2007/howtobook/ http://www.bbc.co.uk/proms/2007/abouttheproms/goingto.shtml Oooo I wondering who you are, as you deffo do kno your proms rules. Would I kno ya? do you prom or seats it??? Pretty much what tommy said, if you want to actually prom (like me) then you'd need to day queue. Tickest are a fiver nowadays per concert or you can get weekend passes for lke £12 or something for 3 concerts - they are bookable per week. Unlike what tommy said, you wouldnt need to sleep out for any proms except for the last night if your wanting to be at the front of the hopefuls queue, or your following the role calls of the ticket holders queue (a long explanation for it can be made if you REALLY wanna know it. For the average weekday prom if your at the hall before 5 youd be in the first 100 or so of the day queue and you will deff get in, near the front so you'd have a better choice of places to stand. For the more popular concerts, eg, a Mahler symphony, beethoven 9 (sp?), or orchestras like the Berlin Phil or Glyndebourne opera then you'd have to be at the hall in the queue REALLY early 'coz people will book days off work to get to those concerts. Dress code is come as ya are pretty much. Theres no code - but the regular season ticket holders (the rabble as we sometimes call ourselves) have some tradition dress codes, for example at the gylndebourne prom, we tend to dress in formal ish wear, as you would at glyndebourne when you see their operas. These evenings are kinda few tho so whatever your comfortable in, I would suggest not to wear anything that makes noise if you move in it, like some jackets and trousers do, it can annoy other members of the audience if you have to move during a bit of the music thats quiet. The presentation you wouldnt of seen me to be honest, as the conductor messed up and I had to do my presentation later, so all you see is the back of my head in the tv broadcast. It was fun tho...stressful but fun! Id say that if you wanted to do a prom, and your not really that much of a classical music buff so to speak, chose something that is a lighter program, so any of the stuff that they say for under 16s as that will be an easier collection of pieces. I wouldnt have chosen one of the ring cycle for my first prom for example. Anywho, my hands are now numb, so I'm going to dissapear now Naomi xx
  14. It was indeed me. I managed to talk Dan (our rail camera man) into making lots of shots of me 'coz of how my presention to the conductor got mucked up last year. It helps knowing your camera crew I say. Thanks about gettin to the front, it involved being up at the hall queing at 5.30 am on friday morning, a ballat and lots and lots of randomness with the people I was with. If you saw 3 other youngish people near the front, those were the loverly people I went with. The atmosphere was fab, not quite as fun as other last nights I've been to, but still a laugh. You didnt get to see it but during tom bowling in the sea songs, my mate and I were in hysterics from our "crying" it would have made ya'll laugh. And I do indeed still have a voice, I was a good girl and sang properly so I didnt loose it lol. *le sigh* Now I must wait 10 months till next years season starts. You should sooo come by the way, well everyone should come to a prom coz its fun but still. How about a forum outing to the blue peter prom next year, its fun and not all heavy music - you can mock the blue peter presenters!!! Wow thats a long post, anywho I can go on for hours, but I'll end this post here. Noms xx
  15. Oooo oki. I hope they do costume comp on all 3 days for cm12, means we could do the groups or each day *is overly hopeful*
  16. what day we doing wicked/wizard of oz? I is wondering. must adjust my dress need to remember to do that. does anyone have a hoop skirt??? :S i cant think of how to make/get one
  17. So I voted: 1) POA, Its followed closely by DH and HBP but I think it was the most intresting plot and stuff. 2) OOTP - the acting was the best and I loved the use of the daily prophet and stuff to get more details in that they couldnt add in 'coz it would be xposition central 3) Hermione - I think shes the character I most relate to, everyone who knows me well tells me that im really like her as well, so I guess thats why I picked her, But if dobby was on the list or hedwig i would have chosen them. I love hedwig he's awsome.
  18. we doing wizard of oz or wicked at c12 correct???? I just saw the Cosplay thread in the LFCC section, so if we doing wicked, I feel the need to put together a little bit of music from wicked for our entry??? Wht you guys think?
  19. if im at c12 (not sure yet) I'd be willing to be a brunett galinda (the Ga is silent) ;-) in my bubble dress
  20. They have already announced the winners of tickets. The confimations have to be in by the 25th, and if people decline the tickets then other people will be notified. Sis and I got our confirmation on the 19th. I'm gonna meet JK, but I'm not one of the first 500 so im metting her in the group that goes in at 3am
  21. The new dates work for me, they dont clash with the last night of the proms like they were going to.
