  1. In case anyone thinks I am saying "don't arrange anymore photoshoots after closing date, as the hassle isn't worth it," I am not. What I am saying is that with these shows now having thousands of attendees, and after the DS9 photo last year adding to the photo sales queues, I am HOPING that Showmasters will TRY to get all their special photo shoots arranged in advance, to make it easier on us, the attendees. I realise this isn't always possible, and I am certainly not going to miss out on the rare last minute shoots just because it's a bit more hassle. I just hope that as much as they can, SM make it easier for us.
  2. I really hope there are no hugely popular photoshoots announced after the shop closing date. I always get my tickets well in advance to avoid any delays, but last year the DS9 photo was announced late-on and was only available at the show. Ended up wasting an hour of the preview night queueing for it, just so I wouldn't miss out.
  3. Great guest. Will the author signature rule apply to all author guests (ie. need to buy or bring one book to get any autographs)? Ben and Paul have done audio CDs, but to get those signed I would need to buy or bring a book?
  4. Aside from the cost, which I mentioned, how is it any different from having the show on Fridays or Mondays at Collectormania? The problem with having all day on Friday would mean they'd have to set up on Thursday - hiring the venue for a 4th day. Also a school day; at least a more local crowd can be there for 6pm if needs be. I certainly think it could do with aa few extra hours, but not a full day.
  5. Oh yeah, and one more call for bringing Peter Cullen / Frank Welker over.
  6. I agree with the comment about making expanding the number of days in future. With Friday having gone from being a "preview night" to basically being a proper day condensed into 3 hours, the next step should be making Friday an all-day affair. Obviously it would be costly, but imagine how good it would be for massive shows like this one if we had a slightly quieter day to get a lot of the busy guests out of the way.
  7. Not a big fan of Defiance but it's really good that you have a ScyFy channel guest. There's so many actors I'd love to meet from their prime shows but I was worried your competitors had the monopoly on them.
  8. Little disappointed it's not a physical Generation 1 Optimus Prime...
  9. Maybe since a lot of people will be buying photo-shoots for Stan and the un-names legendary guest tonight, you could save us some postage costs by announcing tomorrow's guest tonight too?
  10. Nate, did you see The Wind Rises during its UK release recently? I agree Hayao Miyazaki would be a really good guest to meet at any UK show.
  11. I take it this is Tuesday 3rd June that they are going on sale? Today? Or are you giving everyone a week advance notice?
  12. Since John Ratzenberger has now cancelled and he was due to do a Friday photo-shoot, I wonder if that space could perhaps be used for a handful of 5-minute shoots for last-minute Friday-only guests?

  14. Hugely disappointing, but with such a large number of guests, these next few weeks will be the time when the cancellations happen. I imagine there will be more as we get closer to the show, but at least it will save money, time, and they will no doubt be brought over for another show in future.
  15. Met him before, but I will happily get The Beast Must Die signed by him this time!
  16. I know he's a last minute, and a relatively smaller guest, but PLEASE do a photo-shoot. David is a big name in his field of work.
  17. Haha, maybe, but you certainly made that scene make sense now!
  18. It's a shame he's not doing a photo-shoot. I've met him twice before for autos and table pics, but would be tempted by a professional photo.
  19. One big problem with buying in advance is, it does no good at all if there's a last minute photo announced. I always buy all my photos well in advance, but spent an hour of last year's preview night in the photo sales queue in order to get Star Trek DS9 photo which was only sold on-the-day. So unfortunately buying in advance didn't help me at all.
  20. I would also have got my photo-shoot from Bad Wolf printed and signed if SM ever find them and put them on their JPEG store...
  21. I would have bought a photo shoot instantly had it been available. ..
  22. I have to say, as much as I disliked the cold stadium being used in Milton Keynes for Collectormania in recent years, having this year's show spread over such a large area really made it a lot easier to move around. With the last couple of Comic Cons being insane and REALLY busy, I think this will be a great help to us. We can enjoy the fantastic show and guests, but without the frustration of non-moving crowds and congestion between the stalls. Of course, we will have to see how it works on the day, but I think this could really be a good thing for Comic Con, when you consider how big the show is now. On a seperate note, thanks so much for the recent Doctor Who guests. Aside from being ridiculously busy and costing a fortune, this is going to be a great show. Oh one thing though - a guide is a must. When you have plenty of time to wander, it's fine to have guests all over the place. But those in a hurry need to know urgently, so some sort of guide as to who is where, displayed throughout the halls, would be essential.
  23. I know that group photos are not always done and they do require a bit more effort, but I'd like to suggest a group photo shoot on the Sunday. Sylvester and his two companions, Sophie and Bonnie. Would be a rare treat for fans of his era.
