  1. 1) I have to agree with several others that the autograph and photo op sessions were a little chaotic, since I originally didin't go in with much of a strategy. It would have been nice to have them calling people in blocks, especailly for autographs. Racing back and forth was not fun - and a friend I was with who has mobility issues did not have an easy time of it with the hotel layout. It would also have been helpful to have signs behind the guests during autos - when the halls got really crowded it was hard seeing whose line was whose especially since several guests moved. A few more chairs in the autograph hall would also have been nice - my friend I was helping had trouble standing for long periods of time.

    2) Seating during the talks - staggered seats would have been nice - I'm quite short and had trouble seeing at times. Also, I know its a sticky issue, but my friend and I had some trouble with the disability seating. I realize that gold should get preference (and we were gold), but several crew members on Friday night and Saturday were quite rude about seating. While we didn't get seats in the front row (and weren't going to take them), we pretty much had seats pointed out to us several rows back and were told to sit there.

I was quite happy with the way the seating was handled and the crew were literally just doing their job and making sure people were sat in the correct sections and rows according to their ticket number and still people were trying to jump rows to get nearer the front.

As for the 'disabled seating', there isn't any, people with disabilities are allowed into the hall first because it's safer and easier for them to find their seats that way, they still have to sit in the right row according to their ticket number and whether they're gold, silver or standard.

I wanted to say thanks to the crew for handling the seating so well but i do think if you just had numbered seating according to your ticket number it would save a lot of hassel.

  3. Maybe it's something Showmasters/Massive Entertainment should look into.

I know Sky haven't picked up the third season of Teen Wolf (which has been by far the strongest) but there obviously seems to be a market for it out there and I think it's only just starting to gather pace.

How do you get ideas like this to the people who make the decisions?

  4. Kavan Smith: Major Lorne- SG1 & SGA

Matthew Bennett: Jared Kane and Ted - SG1 (and Aaron Doral in BSG incidentally)

  5. Lol! I am right there with you Ophelia! I always love his directing, particularly his long walk-and-talks-in-one-take which involve long circles around one corridor whilst looking like several corridors, and the walking into a lift and out of lift which doesn't actually move but still looks like different floors... And his commentaries are so interesting and funny... Yep totally going to fangirl too ;)

Omg! I love that continuous panning shot that introduces Evan's office in Primeval: New World, the one that tracks them through the lab then sweeps up and around as they change levels. I won't admit to how many times i watched it.

  6. I think the guests probably need a lay in on the Sunday, they work flat out on the Saturday, go to a dinner, then some of them even attend the party and they're probably jet lagged on top of all that. An extra hour in bed for them on the Sunday is probably needed if we want them awake and not face planted on their signing desk lol

  7. wow really? ive never done a chevron con but id be going alone id really like too go umm :S

  8. My friends and I got up at 4am to get our tickets on Sunday morning, we got Gold 7, 8 and 9. Couldn't pass that up with Joe and Robert announced. Now I just have to wait 10 months dammit!!!!!!!! Lol

I'm kind of chuffed my ticket is 007 lol It sounds like such a long time but that's only 10 pay days lol

You will all get bored with this soon (if you haven't already!) but I stayed up and got Gold 1 and 2 for me and my fiancée :)

And it was made all the easier to do as Angela came down and kept me company for most of it :)

So glad you got numbers 1&2 with Joe Flanigan going. I would love to get a photo of you in your costume with Joe.

  9. Want to add my thanks too. Thanks to all the wondeful crew for your hard work. Especially for all those who helped out the disabled attendees, you have no idea how the little things, like having chairs available to sit when we're waiting or inserting us into the queue at an appropriate point etc makes the experience more managable. For me It litereally means less pain and i'm able to enjoy the experience more and not have to miss out certain things in order cope with the weekend. Kudos to you all!

Thanks to all the attendees who also offered help and assistance, Stargate fans really are the best.

The pub quiz was great and the perfect way to wind down the weekend, so great job everyone involved and to those who put their vidoes toghether for the competition.

Finally the guests, whowere brilliant, entertainging, so generous with their time and such fun. it really was a weekend to remember.

Hope that makes sense, like giddygate girl I too am now propped up in bed recovering from the weekend and making sense is taking some effort lol ;)

See you there next year everyone xxx

  10. Book is complete, I was delayed a bit due to ill health but hope everyone likes it. I'll try and find Too Tall on Friday to hand over the book and I guess it will be put on the information table over the weekend. Xxxxx

Remember if anyone wants to add a message please try and get it on to this thread by tomorrow. See you all there, i'm really looking forward to this one :)

*hugs* re the ill health! Hope you are doing better now. If not we can find a quiet corner and flop in exhausted heaps ;). I think mum is going to have to keep making sure I am awake during this one!

Thanks hun. I've not been good to be honest, this con is going to be even more of a physical challenge than it normally is. Flopping in an exhausted heap probably will happen at some time during the day lol. i know this hotel had a lot more walking involved than the Raddison (things seemed to be at opposites sides of the hotel) and that increases my pain and fatigue faster so will probably have to see how things go.

  12. Received my letter a couple of day ago. Really can't wait to meet up with all my friends, Chevron family and finally meet some of my most favourite actors on the planet.

I'm so ready to step through the gate and into our Stargate weekend.

  13. Am I the only one who panicked when they read 'A Message from David Hewlett'? I thought he'd cancelled, Don't do that to me! Also what am I supposed to do with this bag of lemons now?

Well you know what they say: when life gives you lemons - make lemonade, put a bit of vodka in it and have a really good Friday night ;)
