fine you can have your fantasies, but please dont inflict them on the rest of us. Yeah it would awesome to have Elijah and Viggo, but Showmasters already know that, so stop hassling them (and annoying the rest of us in the process) about it.

The organisers will be very much aware that Elijah is at the top of most people's lists so I dont think it's necessary to tell them over and over again. Also, booking Elijah is no guarantee of getting him, he's just had to cancel the big US convention happening in just a few weeks because of work commitments and has had to cancel another show Germany twice now I think for the same reason. We were very lucky to have gotten him for LFCC last year I think. As for Viggo, we've got absolutely no chance of getting him for a convention, he's never done one and I dont think he ever will. He doesnt really like that kind of attention and has moved on to other projects. I've not heard him even talk about LOTR for years.

I never thought I'd be standing up for SM, but the double booking wasnt their fault and there's no point them putting on a show when they cant get the guests for the new date and the chances of there being as many visitors as they need are low. You're just being silly now, there's another gmex in November, you can wait to put on your costume till then cant you?

I just had a look at the MK Centre website and it's not listed on there (although the events are only listed up until the 21 July) but I also noticed that C11 isn't on there either, strange.

I really do worry though that as cool as this sounds, SM are stretching themselves far too thinly with all the conventions they've got lined up for 2007. Usually by this point we will have had a number of guests announced for the next events but that's not happened this time and it seems to me from what was said about another show that they're just too busy (and possibly understaffed) and that instead of having 2 or 3 awesome events we're going to have 6 or 7 mediocre ones. I know what I'd prefer...

I think the best thing to do is to get there as early as you can possible make it and just queue. The closer you are to the front of the queue, the better your chances of meeting him. I also think that maybe he wont be as busy this time around as previously as he's now done one so the urgency of meeting him for many fans wont be so great. Of course he'll be busy, but maybe not as manically busy as last time.

I think the point is though that the convention was announced back in May this year, so they will have had almost a year to organise it, not just 4 months.

That was just rude, you're not going to endear yourself to the fans if that's the way you think of us. I'm disgusted to be frank, you're insulting to the very people you want to fork out money for your event. Why bother announcing this event at all if you had nothing planned beyond an idea? Why couldn't you just wait until there was something more concrete before getting our hopes up?

I agree we dont have any official bad news yet, but both the another show guys have posted that nothing has been happening and that they and SM seem to be too busy to do anything about this event.

Call me a cynic, but I honestly don't believe it's going to happen at all. I'm starting to wonder whether it was announced just to gauge interest and they've decided not to go ahead (SM that is). As for official announcements, they've not been very good about giving official announcements on anything recently (ie. the Brandon Routh situation, guest cancellations for Gmex2 that never appeared on the boards etc).

I'm so disappointed that this seems to be being put on the backburner. another show Germany and the LOTR conventions in the US are still extremely popular and that fact that this was announced and then nothing more has been said is bad news for the fans over here. I can't afford to go to Germany or the US for their conventions so I was so excited that we'd be having one here again, now I'm just miserable as it sounds to me like it's not going to happen at all, all because SM are too busy filling their schedules with other shows that, in my opinion, are poor value.

Nicky, I realize you only work for ebay and dont make the rules, but all the time ebay remove listings on reports without checking the details. I've had a number of my listings removed in the years I've been on ebay because a competitor has decided to get rid of me and so reported so called infringements (not copyright I might add) and when I've queried it ebay have reinstated my listings and made a full apology. But, if they'd actually looked at the listings first, they'd have seen that I wasnt infringing at all and have saved us all time and hassle. I'm a member of the discussion forums over on ebay and every day that stuff like this happens. I've also been done over by a so called VERO rights owner who has fraudulently claimed copyright ownership of something he has no right to. He's a licensee of film cells but not a copyright owner, not the same thing at all, and yet he manages to have all competitive listings removed and when myself and others complain, all we're told by ebay is to take it up with the VERO 'rights owner' which does nothing at all, they just laugh and say "take me to court then". I had some LOTR film cell keyrings in my ebay shop which were removed by his 'complaint' and when I queried it with him, he said he was in the process of getting a license to sell LOTR cells and he was getting rid of the competition. He was blatent about it, and there was nothing I could do, I can't afford to take him to court and ebay dont want to know.
