I know that Massive Events are putting a number of shows on, so I thought it could be useful to have any suggestions that people have to improve BTL2. I don't mean this to be a place to moan - just a place for positive and useful thoughts. My suggestions: A quiz - just for the pleasure of showing off our excellent knowledge of RD! An autograph session at the end of the day - so that people who want their photo's signed, don't have to worry about the photo's getting back in time. Alternative option during the photo/signing session - eg. RD eps being shown. I'm sure you're going to do this - Theme Parties on Fri and Sat night. Sun night left free, so people can go home, relax etc as they want. A place for Forum people to meet/Forum names on badges.

This year's BTL was acceptable for the first show. It was really unfortunate that we had 3 cancellations. I agree that Danny/Chloe/Steve really pulled together to make it up. If Massive Events/Showmasters agree - perhaps we can give Danny and Chloe a little something to show that we appreciate what they did on the Sunday? (Steve too if he returns) In terms of the hotel, there were good things and bad. Bad - it's undergoing refit at the time, not a good thing when you have an event going on. I spoke to reception, and it should be finished this year - so fingers crossed it should be fine for BTL 2. Food ordered from the bar, took a while to get to us. This was an issue with timing, as only about 45mins was left between the last AM thing and the first talk. Hotel restaurant only served Buffet style. Room (older style), was old fashioned, and had a TV with only 4 channels (yes, I am old enough to remember, but it was a long time ago). Good - the food when received was nice. The room that we had was a good size. From what others said, at least our TV worked. Walk out of the hotel, turn right and you're in the town - couldn't be any closer!

A three day event is good - I assume that's gonna be Fri/Sat/Sun... is it still July 2010 (9-11)?

My choices: Mac McDonald - I'd love to be able to complete my pic. Danny - we need our last main cast member! Claire Grogan - we have Holly's x 2...

It would be great to get a Group Photo Shoot - especially as chances for a Red Dwarf group will get harder and harder in the future. They only have 1 more to go....

I'd love to meet Mac, and to see Claire and Norman again (OK, need them to complete my pic). However, it's disappointing to note that currently there isn't even a hint of any RD people - let alone a photo shoot. I also have a problem, as i can only attend Sat, so if anything is on Sun I'll have missed out! My fingers are crossed, but after BTL, I'm not going to be holding my breath.

After everything that's happened with BTL, I can't help agreeing with everyone's comment that you have to play a waiting game. This was to be my first SM event outside of the Collectormania's. My biggest complaint is that SM have been totally silent. There's been nothing on the forum since "please spread the word", and the website hasn't been changed since it first went up. If this gets cancelled or postponed it's going to cost me £50 as I've already booked my train ticket - not a lot, but if it's postponed I'm going to have to buy the tickets again, costing me double. It's now less that 2 weeks - SM please let us know what's happening? Have the tickets been posted out? Are there going to be more guests? For those of us with Gold Tickets - will we recieve something to make it worth the additional cost, or a partial refund? Please can we have some answers to our questions before next Friday!

Just to add my thoughts. I've tried emailing SM - and have been totally ignored. I offered, as on the website, to help with stewarding - got an answer to that - only to be told that they don't need additional help due to the size of the show. It got to the point that I called the number on the website. Got through. Unfortunately the person that I spoke to couldn't offer any information as they weren't dealing with this event. About the only thing I was told, the event is probably taking place. They are in talks for other guests, but there is no news. I've booked a gold ticket, the hotel and trains. I can cancel the hotel, if SM cancel I will get a refund, but the cost of the train is non-refundable. This is my first SM event, although I've been to many of the collectormania's over the years. Unfortunately with this experience it will now take a lot for me to book another SM/ME event. Sad but very true!
