1. I was wondering if anyone on here has ever got a Gold Pass, and if so are they worth the £175 price tag, as i am thinking of getting one.

As the so called Goody Bags any good.

Personally I haven't but I can see the appeal of them. If there are a load of guests you want to see or just a few really big guests it saves all the hassle of getting there early and queueing for the VT's. Especially if you cannot attend the whole event and may be on a time limit, it'll allow you to see everyone you want to. However as has been said before, carefull planning should allow you to see who you want to anyway, it would just take longer.

  2. Unfortunately I think people just get fed up with the amount of EW request threads we get, year after year.  Whilst newbies aren't aware of this obviously, if you've been on here a while it can get a tad annoying.

IMO thats the risk you take when joining public forums. we are all entitled to freedom of speech and it doesn't say anywhere in the rules that we can't start Elijah Wood threads. Don't take this the wrong way but if you don't like the look of a thread, don't go in it! I don't see how someone elses thread can annoy you, just don't look at it!

FE well done you, it can't have been easy to start this thread but you had the balls to do it! *lijah hugs* :(;)

Personally I agree with you. Despite what I have said I don't have a problem with request threads, I was just repeating what I have seen posted before. You are right that as long as the title and topic are clear you can just avoid going in to it.

One thing that I will say to fireexit however is to please carry on posting if you have comments you want to make. Like everything people just need to consider how their post sounds before they send it. Just have a re read to make sure it sound ok before sending. Points can be gotten across much better if they are calmly written and phrased in a positive way instead of a negative post.

  3. I aint being rude but could you not have just posted this within the other thread, starting pointless threads like this is what ruins these forums.

Actually issuing an apology to dufresne and everyone else on this board is not a pointless thread, in my mind.

    Seems I can't win.

It's not pointless and it's brave to make an new thread and make it obvious to everyone instead of just hiding it away in the other thread where it could be missed.

Hope you enjoy the event fire exit.

  5. Whilst I don't want to be accused of stiring the pot, as it were, when you found Dunfresne's original post offensive, he apologised. Now that you have been proven wrong in you accusation that he deleted your post where is the apology from you?.......

  6. Several of the original series actors don't personalise, see James Doohan's autobiography for the reasons why. Having read it I knew not to expect a personalisation. I would have liked a photo of William Shatner though - if you have one please e-mail a copy to me at:

    Thanks!

Any chance of elaborating? What where James Doohans reasons?

    876500

I'd like to know the answer to this as well please. The only reason I can think of would be something to do with obsessive fans perhaps? As far as I'm aware most stars prefer to personalise to stop stuff/fakes being sold on auction sites.

  7. Don't really know Autographica but having a quick scan here and on the site do you ever try and get authors over or is there no market?

I'd be interested in meeting Robert Jordan or authors like Dean Koontz, Stephen King and Anne McCaffrey but don't know if this would ever happen.

    Oh well, here's hoping.

  8. Heathrow express is a lot more expensive than the tube though. I don't want to confuse the issue but are you coming by train/bus into Victoria? If so, it's probably the same amount of time to go on the tube from Victoria (either Circle or District line) to South Kensington, Gloucester Road or Earls Court and swap onto the Piccadilly Line through to Heathrow, than it is to go up to Paddington and get the Heathrow Express. If you do decide to catch the tube, when you come out of the underground station you need to find the Bus Station outside of Terminal 2 (just over the road, about 3 mins walk) then it's stand 12 you need (i think) then check the list to find out which bus number stops at the hotel.

    Hope that is some help.

  9. lol that is true,

imo the guy at the top does have a right to complain, as a customer/consumer it is his right to voice his complaints and have someone atleast listen to them. even if nothing can be done about it.

    874590

People do have the right to complain but not in such a manner. Like someone else said, I to have a job where I deal with the general public and there are some right ***** out there. I have no problem dealing with those who have complaints but am less willing to deal with those who are rude to me. Whilst the original poster may have had a legitimate complaint, they perhaps should have addressed them to SM themselves in a calmer manner.

On the subject of JCB, whilst i'm not sure anything can be done about her (if she is the manager of the guests we all want to see then she will be part of the package) I too have seen her moody side. Cannot SM speak to her and ask her to tone it down a bit at the events.

If I am queueing for one of the people she represents at a future event and she told me to hurry up, i'd politely ask her not to speak to me like that.

  10. There is an online company called UK Trading Cards who sell photo holders and they can be purchased individually or in bulk.

The only other thing you have to consider re transportation and storage is that whatever you buy should be acid free. If not, and the auto is touching the holder, eventually the signature will transfer off onto the holder. It shouldn't be too much of a concern as most supplies for this kind of thing are normally acid free now but it's worth keeping in mind, especially if you are having it framed. This can happen with some of the A4 folder pages, hence niceblokejohn's suggestion of putting it in with the auto facing a peice of paper.

If there is a selection of sharpies available in front of the guest you can ask them to sign in a particular colour. My posters have all been done in either gold or silver because they go well together. If a guest was mainly using another colour pen I would ask them to swap.

If you choose to have them signed in silver sharpie just be warned that, on a photo, it takes the longest of all the colours to dry, and if the pen hasn't been shaken and the chemicals mixed properly, the ink can separate as they sign it leaving the sig looking slightly fuzzy. It's ok on posters though, it seems to only really happen on the shiny surface of the photo's. Keep it in mind though - you don't want to spend ages to meet your most favourite guest in the world to get a fuzzy sig.
