  1. we do not have the time to put up each guests photos that will be on offer mate as we only just have the time to get them ready for the show if you work it out thats 5 images for 51 guests =250 images that have to be found some in the last week before the show jason Also if SM did put them up with "these are the photos available for each guest", people would pick the one they wanted and get peed off when they turned up and found out that particular pic had run out. You cannot win either way. The simplest solution is the one used. If you want a specific picture signed, bring it yourself.

  3. Unfortunately that is what it is like when meeting celebs, not all of them offer hugs, shakes and kisses. You have to accept that before you go to these events. It can be disapointing but the £25 is for his signature, nothing else. People are often advised to have a low expectation when meeting guests then that way you might be pleasantly suprised. I know of people who come to the UK from far further afield and it cost them a fortune.
  4. Personally I'll remember the 30 mins I spent in Claudia's talk hearing about her on set experiances and life far better that I'll remember the 30 seconds I spent in front of her at the auto queue when all I could say to her was "thanks for coming and have a great weekend" Perhaps next year Toni Jedi can get his wife a t-shirt that reads "I'm with Grumpy"
  5. Nicky did you have a green top on Saturday?
  6. As has been said before unfortunately food and drink is the responsibility of the venue it'self and the concessions. any time an event is at a venue like this the food is always going to cost a lot because they know they have a bit of a captive audience as it where. They know that a lot of people won't be willing to wander off outside to try and find somewhere else so they don't really have to compete on the prices. The best advice really is to bring your own.
  7. That's my only gripe as well. I was there early to see Claudia Black so was effectively done with autos by 9.45, but as I had a photo with her had to wait around til 1.50. Not SM's fault but I don't really care for the stands so it is a hell of a long time to wait. I'd bought a book so was ok but sitting on the floor for 3ish hours was not fun. There was a lot of space ofer by the photoshoot area wher seating could have been set up.
  8. That's what I was thinking, IIRC it was a response to a very long arguement.
  9. My item hasn't turned up from Canada, really irked. Paid loads to get it here in time, so I'm going to have to ask them to refund my money seeing as they haven't provided the service I paid for.
  10. I sometimes go to Olympia Horse show. You get a guide book there to show which stall is where. Very handy.
  11. Yeah that made me panick for a minute. Haven't been to LFCC for a couple of years so thought it might have changed as well. Nice to know it's still the same.
  12. Just reread this. You've met your brother once?
  13. Have you considered contacting Consumer Direct (office of fair trading)? They helped me when I was having a dispute with an online electrical firm. They can help you with all the relevent sections of the consumer protectin act to quote. http://www.consumerdirect.gov.uk/
  14. Possibly but I imagine the majority will be Farscape and Stargate. The best thing to do is when you get your VQ ticket, if they have the picture table up and ready ask to p up and see what they have or keep checking back until they have got it laid out. That way if they don't have a suitable one you can pop off to the stall holders and have a look out there.
  15. 1. I don't know duckman from Adam, I mearly responded to one of his posts. If that makes you friends with a person so be it. 3. I was annoyed about the SG1 con with Atlantis guests as it was advertised specifically as an SG1 event, the same organiser was also running a separate Atlantis con. If I had wanted to see Atlantis guests I would have paid to go to that as well. They may be from the same universe, they may cross guests and themes over, but if it's advertised as something specific, keep it as that. I would have had no problems if they had advertised it from the beginning as a Stargate con, and would have expected guests from both shows in that case, but they didn't. They advertised 2 separate cons, one for each show. I was simply relating a similar story. Thank you duckman.
  16. I had a similar issue with another con organiser. They always advertised it as a Stargate event for fans of SG1. I booked on that proviso and asked questions when they started adding Atlantis guests. I pointed out that it was advertised as an SG1 event and that was what I bought my ticket for, not to see Atlantis people. Especially when they where also aranging an Atlantis con.
  17. In shock when I saw the announcement first, in a fanfic of all places. He will be missed.
  18. First one to make it past the treacle swamp gets a kiss from Patrick.
  19. You just have to accept the fact that you pay by auto not for what you are getting it put on, if you choose to purchase something expensive to get a sig on that is entirely your choice. I don't know of any signing show in the UK that opperates differently.
  20. What does that mean? She's from Poland. Sometimes it differs a bit from country to country how conventions are run. I have no idea if Poland actually has conventions, but in Germany autographs definitely are not cheaper than in the UK. Maybe a couple of Euros depending on the event, but nowhere near 2 for the price of 1. Thanks QS. I was trying to imply that maybe all the problems Kalli has with this event stem from him/her being used different convention/signing meathods/structures and prices in his/her country.
  21. Just checking but I assume photoshoot tickets are posted separately?
  22. C'mon now, be nice. Everyone has a right to ask if they are new, have an opinion or dont understand - it's not hurting anyone. Trust me I do appreciate that, and do what I can to help the newbies. Unfortunately I have yet to really see a positive post from Kalli yet. They all seem to be moaning about something. Kalli either hasn't read the T&C and FAQ properly or not asked questiong before buying the tickets and then ends up making seemingly negative comments about the way things are. Yes autos are expensive, especially when it's £25 a pop per sig for the top guests, but that's the way it is. It may be that things are different/cheaper where Kalli comes from but this is how it is here.
