  1. The annoying fact of having to do the stationery order occasionally at work, though I love when they print the names of the item on the packaging in other languages. It's silly but when we need more paper clips I love saying 'oh no we have run out of trombones!"
  2. Heh, I'm getting really tired now and just misread what you typed there MGO. I was thinking you naughty lady!
  3. They are literally called 'punched pockets'.
  4. I definitely think it's worth it, I'll be finishing work at 4 on Friday, hot footing it over to Excel, hope to get there for 5ish and that registration is quick and can then spend the 2 hours looking around, If the stalls are open I'll scout around for any last minute pictures I may want to but for the auto's and hope I have time to look around at least 1 of the displays to get it done.
  5. I don't think you have to register your photoshoot tickets, I think you just show them in the shoot queue.
  6. "Get out, everyone get out" kick, kick, kick....

    Planning!

I'm typing my plans and will just print and bring with me. I may try and put them in some sort of folder to try and keep them being crushed into unrecognisability. All I can really recommend is now that we know we kind of have to do the photo shoots when your group is scheduled for I think it makes planning a tad easier. So far my plan is a time line - I've highlighted all my shoots and put them in time order throughout the day with the talks I want to go to in their correct place in the schedule. I think it's hard to put a guess on how long auto's/photo's may take because it depends on so much, how many are in the queue before you, how many auto's everyone is getting. I'd suggest highlighting your plan with when you need to leave to get to things and just doing what you can until then. I.E as the Ben talk is at 12.45 if you decide to leave to queue by 12.35 just note it on your plan, and make sure you go back and do what you missed as soon as you can. Make sure you look at everything that is on and what you have tickets for and work out what you refuse to miss, what you can live with having to leave 5 mins early or arrive late for and go from there. I'm hoping I can fit a couple of auto's in straight at 9am and at least it's another thing done. I've also got an auto list with each guests name and what I want signed from them. I'm going to do one for all the photo shoots I have, package ones and extra's and plan on crossing each thing off as I've done them so I can clearly see what I've got left to do.
  8. Actually knowing you pretty much have to go during your Groups allotment does make it a bit easier again to plan your own schedule!
  9. You're not the only one wondering this Angel, which is frankly why I adore cons with numbered seating - a hassle for the crew setting it up but fantastic for the attendees.
  10. Makes sense I guess. Also I know with what I've just posted this may sound strange but I guess we have to trust in SM and the crew who are all experienced at this and will help us get through it all ok.
  11. Yes. We'd really appreciate it if everyone at least tries make their assigned slot, that's also why the notes about Mark's photosession are on the site. But we know that's not possible, so if you have to go to the afternoon session. Random day changes are definitely out of the question, sorry. I was also getting confused why Mark's shoot was being singled out as well as Lars and Louises also finish after Ben's talk begins. I know we can only do what we can on the day but as others have said, with 3 shoots and only 30 mins for all of them with at minimum 150 people in A group alone, and all of A and C having tickets to the talk and asking for priority access because of that, I really pray it's going to work but can't see how.
  12. QS, there's so much information flowing around on different emails and posts it's really hard to keep track of all the rules ect, so your saying that for example, as my Andrew S A group is on Sat morning, I can go to the afternoon one possibly but not Sunday? IE you have to go only in your particular group really, that's going to make things really hard......
  13. I think I recall mention by one of the mods when I asked in another thread that theoretically auto's were also going in package order but realistically I think you will just join the end of the line whenever you get to go through.
  14. Ditto, I'm hoping we should get a plan of the hall in the reg packs, I thing they usually give them out at LFCC? or just have maps of where everything is dotted around
  15. It really is. I don't mind missing out on what I consider minor things but have to admit I'm going to be really unhappy if I have to miss out or be late for the major things in order to get some of it done. I really appreciate what SM have done here, all of the fantastic guests and opportunities we have but after paying for the Platinum, partly to ensure a smooth stress free event and as I'm going to be spending £1500 by the time the con's done, I will be really, lets say peeved, if I really do miss anything significant. I'm sure it will all be fine, but unfortunately we can't help but worry can we?
  16. Actually I don't think we can. I know you can do the second session on the same day, but I was asking about doing marks Photo's on the sunday, and I was just told to go on the Saturday and explain I also had a ticket for Benendict's talk. But If i'm wrong, that won't be first time I'm no Sherlock, hell i'm not even an Anderson. I can only say it from my tickets (plat) perspective but you can go through any session for that person after your group has been called. I am planning on possibly delaying some of my shoots until Sunday just to make it easier. You go by your group letter no matter what pass you have. You should have gotten an email with your group assignment. You can go to ops other than your assigned session, but apparently you have to wait in line with everyone else if you do. I just have to join the back of the 30 odd people in the queue right? I don't need a VQ ticket. You don't need a VQ ticket if you have Gold, Plat or VIP tickets.
  17. As Murph says you can't buy the auto's but you can buy auto vouchers (to save you having to carry/take cash if you want to pay by card) which you hand over in the auto queue or pay by cash in the auto queue. When they say first come first served it really means time restrictions more than anything else.
  18. I think I'm going to leave working it all properly out for the moment. I've got the rough plan typed but until we find out about the A Louise Brealey photo shoot and Ben's auto's I don't want to make a plan and have to re do it because of these.
  19. It's not? The 12.15 Saturday Louise shoot is for the purchased shoot tickets not the Plat group allocation one? The schedule has the 12:15 Saturday Louise shoot listed as Groups A & C.... I think it's been updated since it was posted, I printed it as soon as TT posted it and my print out has Brealey 2 with the batches 1 - 3, but there was a mix up in that they hadn't scheduled the A & C group so it must have been changed since. I'm going to print it out and start again!

  21. No offense to any Americans (as I don't know how they cope with their coins and notes) at least our money is distinct and easily identifiable.
  22. I can't agree more. For me Sunday is looking the quieter of the 2 days so I think I'm going to try and leave as many of the photo's/auto's as possible until then. I've typed up a rough work out of the schedule but I need to print it, take it home and compare it to all my tickets to see if I have highlighted all the extra shoot's I have and then work out what I want to do most, what clashes and if I have any chance of making it between them all.
  23. That's Louise Brekon-Richards at 2pm Golden for the photo's in area 3, not Louise Brealey Hold on, Louise BR already has a second photo session at 4.45 p.m., so it must be meant to be Louise Brealey's second session, although it clashes with her 221B photoshoot session. err, not sure now, Louise Brealey 2 is at 12.15 and is for the batch photo's. I know there has been a mix up with Louise Brealey as there isn't one for the A group but they are sorting that out, I think it'll be the one at 9.15 though.
