  1. And you know there will be a shuttle replacement service in operation on whatever date they pick. And people will all moan saying there wasn't enough oxygen in the rooms for the amount of tickets sold, or that the gravity wasn't adjusted high enough so they were floating out of the pictures.
  2. If it's not a question of money buy the early bird tickets then you are covered either way, but arrive later if it does turn out the shoot is in the afternoon. If you have an early bird ticket, you don't HAVE to go through early, though obviously that's why people buy it, it would just mean you've paid a little more if it turns out you don't need it.
  3. Well Canada have been awarded a licence to build a space lift so maybe one day....... http://www.independent.co.uk/news/science/a-canadian-company-is-planning-to-build-a-tower-thats-20km-high-and-could-making-flying-to-space-like-taking-a-passenger-jet-10459058.html
  4. Would it be NEC though seeing as a competitor has the same type of show there and may have exclusivity?
  5. Find the sales desk for the photoshoot tickets and re photo's at the desk usually if they aren't allowed there will be a sign on the wall above the guest's head saying either 'no photographs' or 'no posted photo's'. If there isn't a sign like that up it's usually ok so just ask the guest politely - or check with the crew member with them if you are unsure.
  6. There are no returns currently on tickets but SM are considering a service where tickets could be sold on via them so this may be in place for the summer con. I'd say there shouldn't be a need to rush to buy tickets straight away as IIRC it didn't actually sell out until a few weeks before when they added Sigourney. Yes they were close before that but given the tickets went on sale in October that was quite a while before they were sold out.
  7. I'm watching, but getting a bit fed up - I get a bit annoyed with shows like this when the keep adding plots within plots and it gets overly complicated.
  8. I'd imagine it's the same way as with auto's - anything Acid free and keep them out of the sun. If you are storing them make sure it's not somewhere that can experience big temperature fluctuations, like a loft as that might damage them. Or if you do keep them in the loft I'd recommend using some of those desiccant pouches to try and keep them from getting damp. I've used Ultra Pro single pages for both my auto's and comics, and then they go in a folder and the comics do fit in them ok. Having a quick look on the Franks site though, they do have items for comic storage so you could just use them? - http://www.franksautographs.com/COMICS---MAGAZINES-STORAGE.html
  9. This is in no way different to how guests are booked now so will make no difference. All guests who are booked to appear can and do cancel when work arises, irrespective of what it is. It's partially irrelevant if they have to go to SDCC because it could be anything they need to go and do if the situation calls for it, a big press interview, a film festival, reshoots ect. Even if SDCC was on the weekend before or after the guest may still have to cancel as it's possible the schedule would require them to be there a few days before or after and they might not be able to make it back/over in time. It's SM's decision when to run the event and who to get. If they have shot themselves in the foot having it on the same weekend and can't get many guests/or people don't go it's their issue and they will learn from it. It's fine to express concern but why don't we all wait to see what happens. They aren't stupid and have been doing this for a long time.
  10. Because they can only run the show when the venue is available.
  11. Looking at the ticket info, I guess it's basically because they only want 1 ticket type available for early entry. Children between 4-12 don't get a discounted ticket for early entry, they have to pay the same price as there is only 1 early ticket that covers all ages accept for anyone under 4 who get in free.
  12. It's so shiny and clean at the moment.
  13. It's on here below the thread header if you look at the top of the main forum page.
  14. I have to say a giant NO to that. The auto's are restricted as they are, you can't get more than a few at a time and it would be completely unfair to say you can only get 1. Usually I will get 2 per guest, 1 on a cast poster and an 8x10 I get personalised. However as many of the guests are in lots of shows there are going to be lots of people who want cast signed items from different shows. I don't have an issue being hurried through as I am always very conscious that there are many others in the queue. If I am getting a few items signed I do try to be as efficient as possible to speed things up.
  15. Regarding photo shoots: Jason you are correct that people should check their pictures before the shoot finishes to rectify any issues but it's not always so easy , especially if you need to rush elsewhere or are being 'encouraged' to leave. I get that you have to get everyone through but trying to exit isn't always easy as you have to wait for your photo - it might only take 30 seconds or so for it to be printed but it means people start to bunch up who are also waiting which also means it gets hard to get your bags back. One suggestion, although it would require a little more room for each shoot area is to have 2 distinct 'room's - the first being entry and bag dump. leading into the secondary area where the shoot happens, then we leave back into the second part of the first 'room' that has a little bit more room for people to wait for their photo's and get their stuff together who aren't therefore also blocking up the shoot area any more or being seen as 'hanging around' to get one last glimpse of the guest. Sometimes the exit can be very crowded when it's also the entry and you don't want to bend your photo when you are being encouraged to leave. A couple of extra moments would be helpful, especially to check your picture. Having said that though when I got home from Sherlocked I did notice that one of my pictures was a little less than totally in focus. It was my fault for not thoroughly checking it but tired eyes combined with needing to be at other places (and therefore not having time to check the whole picture in detail) meant I missed it. The picture is adequate but not perfect now that I know it's not totally in focus I know you have a lot of people to get through but with respect when you are paying (in my case £120) for a photo you do expect a professional photographer to get it right and not rely on the customer noticing such details.
  16. They look good Cherrydarling. It's nice to have something different for them to sign. I don't think you can do mobile picture uploads as I'm sure I've seen others post before you can't. You have to upload pictures to an image hosting site like Photobucket and they link from there.
  17. Thing is if you buy it you have agreed to the T&C's which stipulate not transferring. The simple way around this is for SM to put the purchasers photo on the pass.
  18. Get it properly framed. If it's signed you really should have a mount to keep the glass off the signature, but that means you will need a custom frame to account for the additional size of the mount. It will be worth it in the long run though.
  19. It's not a response you want but if you get asked that again maybe say 'and what do disabled people look like then'?
  20. Rule No 1: Don't talk about Fight Club!
  21. No, the auto system is best the way it is. If you didn't have VQ's you would be in 1 huge line all day and still have no guarantee of getting to the front.

  23. I've got a load of the Stargate comics and have had many of them signed. I didn't get RDA on it though as I went with the poster.
