can someone help me so below i think you pickup the DP at the box office circled in green, but where is this in relation to where you have to que? My annoyance is I want to be queuing to get in first for VQ's not going off to a completely opposite end of the building to get the DP

    No description available.

First red swirl is DP  collection, second is the standard ticket entry.  Blue swirl is where I think the gift collection is.  So you can either get your DP and then go and queue to get in, or go queue first and get your VQ's and then nip back and get your DP's.  But if you go for the second, I think you have to go outside (make sure you get your hand stamped if you only have a day ticket so you can get back in), go to the DP collection and then you'll have to go in via the entry queue again.

Just had the following email -

    Hi Geoff

Thank you for booking to see one of our diamond pass guests at London Film & Comic Con 2022. We are very excited to be back at Olympia London and to be able to bring you some of your film & TV heroes.

We have a brand-new system for diamond pass collection which we wanted to let you know about. This email includes a scannable code that you will present when you get on site. This will instantly print your bespoke diamond pass based upon what you have ordered.

We hope that this new system will be quicker, more efficient, and environmentally friendly as it will reduce waste.

The location of where to pick these up remains the same as previously instructed and the passes can be collected at the Grand Box Office, opposite the train station.

We look forward to seeing you at the event.

    The Showmasters Team

Not sure if it means instead of handing us the envelope with the 'Dog Tag' in, the SM staff will print a DP there and then, or there is some sort of machine that scans the barcode & prints off the DP.

Does this mean the end of the plastic dog tag? Will be interesting to see what form the new DPs take.

I'm reading it as you get everything on one tag maybe.  Like if you have 3 DP's over the weekend, they will all be printed on the one pass maybe?

Just wondering if anyone knows how many gold passes are issued? It just occurred to me that if there’s hundreds of them it won’t necessarily speed anything up?

Am I right in thinking they allow you to go first (after diamond) for autographs and photo shoots, or is it still in batches?

They never really confirm numbers so no idea how many they sell.  Gold is complicated now, because they don't effectively work with Diamond guests auto's, you still need a VQ for them if you are going through on a Gold.  The advantage here though is that Gold should get in first so you can get the lowest VQ tickets.  So when they call auto's for DP guests, it'll be DP's in batches, then if they open them to VQ's, it'll be VQ's called in batches.  Gold don't need VQ's for non Diamond guest though, so you would just join the back of the queue.

For photo's, DP's get called first, then Gold All Batches (they may break it down for big guests), then standard shoot tickets.  For non DP guests, Gold are called first, then standards.

Wait what, how? I could only find info that you could use them in the online ticketshop, nothing about using it at the show...

Yeah you can use them at the onsite Sales desk, so you can buy photo's with them, get auto vouchers that you can then use in place of cash at the guests tables.

Not ideal, but if you head to the sales desk at the show, I'm sure they must be able to issue vouchers there, as they can exchange voucher codes for autograph vouchers.

On the flip side, I'm not sure they will because they would have no way of checking if the office have already issued them to the person asking, or of letting the office know that they have issued them and not being done twice then.

I don't think they will have access to the shop records on the Sales desk to check what the status of someone's order is basically

Black on dark background is a very bad idea. I remember meeting Jamie Foreman (Derek Branning in EastEnders) in Birmingham a few years back, and the picture I chose for signing was fairly dark and unfortunately he used a black sharpie. You had to really squint to see what you paid for lol

Yup always go for colours on the opposite side of the spectrum for best results, and if the item is dark, use a light colour, and if it's light use a dark one.

That's why I prefer solid colour backgrounds as it makes it so much easier for signing.  As much as multi colour images are pretty, it can make choosing a pen hard as nothing stands out.

It’s been a while since attending a Showmasters event! I have a diamond pass and would like to buy some additional autographs. Do you buy these when you get to the guest queue in question? And can you pay for these with cash? Thanks in advance!

As already mentioned, yes, you pay for extras in the auto queue when you get to the 8x10 table.  There is a limit to how many extras you can buy, it'll be mentioned on the pass details in the shop.  The usual total limit for busy guests is 5, but for headliners the DPs may be limited to 3 - the one included in the pass and 2 extra's.

Hi, I’ve noticed that Omid Abtahi’s Friday photo shoot has disappeared from the schedule? Any updates on this as I’ve received no notification through Eventbrite about any day changes.

It’s the only thing I have booked for Friday so would appreciate to know if it’s happening or not for my cosplay schedule. Thanks

There aren't any SM staff here most of the time I'm afraid so we only know as much as you.  It's probably best to tag them on the twitter/facebook accounts so the social media team can let the office know.  And just keep checking the schedules uploaded to the website as they said they would be the most updated ones

I bought a Diamond pass/talk ticket, do I need to buy a talk ticket for my carer.

Talk areas – Where possible we will mark disabled seating but please bear in mind that all seating is on a first come first served basis. Please ask to speak to the crew who will direct wheelchair positioning or will try to accommodate an aisle seat if possible. We operated both free and paid talks at events and any paid talks will be advertised beforehand and require a separate paid for ticket. Your carer can accompany you for free to any talks you have access to.

When will the show floor map be released?

I am concerned by the lack of news on whats to be seen on the ground floor and no cars to be seen announced I've not been since 2019 but they've always had some great things to see.

No one can say I'm afraid as there are no staff on here to answer.  Hopefully they will, usually they do, it'd usually be around today/tomorrow that they released all the plans/schedules ect and they still have a week to do it, but ultimately we can't say if they will or won't.

I have a couple of quick questions.  I have noticed they have started switching the tickets over from the complete 2022 event to the individual days as was mentioned a while ago (I think there was an email a few months ago).  However I have noticed on my new photoshoot ticket the batch number has disappeared.   Will I still be under the same batch as I was before?

My second question is my photoshoot tickets have swapped over but my weekend entry ticket hasn't.  Should I expect that one to switch over too?

If the batch number doesn't come back they will likely treat them all as 1 or 0.  All tickets should update but unfortunately there's not really anyone official here to ask.  Keep an eye on it in the next few days and if not email them

This doesn't sound hopeful for getting them before the convention. I'll be gutted. I can't afford to spend more.  Has anyone ever got their voucher sorted at the actual con?

They have only started using them since covid and the last couple of events were much smaller affairs so wouldn't have been as affected as Summer would be with higher priced guests.  I don't think most people previously would have need to sort them at the event unfortunately.
