  1. Have you read the many other threads to do with this subject? http://showmastersonline.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=89127 http://showmastersonline.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=89022 http://showmastersonline.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=89133
  2. I'm sure the mods will add confirmation but I'm sure the Diamond pass will get you into the queue only once, (it's not an all access pass) if you want to go through again you will need a VQ ticket. If they do it like they did at Sherlocked your Diamond pass will be hole punched when you go through to show you have used your 'slot' and you won't be able to use it again for that perk.
  3. I don't know your financial situation but if I was coming the distance you are is be buying gold passes. I travelled to the US last year and bought VIP tickets just cause of the distance I was coming Coming from Chicago? Fantastic! Now that IS fan dedication . Hope to meet you and say hi over the weekend!
  4. Last year was awful for many people myself included but new systems have been put in place to prevent it happening again. There will be queues but hopefully we will all get inside fairly quickly when it opens and it shouldn't be like that again.
  5. That really depends on how much you have to do and who you want to see. The more you have to do and the bigger/more the guest you want to see the earlier you should aim to be there ideally. Those with a pre bought ticket will be lining up for entry before the doors open and you will need to join the back of the queue. Once the doors open the queue will filter through the doors in an orderly fashion.
  6. No, you don't need a VQ for the photo shoots.
  7. As has been said many times, if the validation charge hasn't been paid Eventbrite do send reminder emails, if they are ignored not much can be done.
  8. You can't advertise this on the forum so It will be removed shortly I'm sure.
  9. I meant as to the whole way the tickets are handled not just the construction of the pages themselves.
  10. I know what you mean but it's up to SM to change the system if they want to. I'm sure they have considered or will consider the merits of all the different options and will adapt it as they see fit.
  11. Or just have the ticket page take you to a big disclaimer before it takes the money that says something like "if you have purchased tickets but not entry you may not get in if entry tickets sell out. purchasing without an entry ticket is at your own risk"
  12. Presumably if they did that they would also put in a work around for staff for that very reason.
  13. People were warned that if they bought diamond passes they needed to get an entry ticket and that failure to do so may mean they couldn't get in if the entry tickets ran out.
  14. They can't charge £14.50 as the Validation fee is per transaction not per ticket so it can't be added on to every ticket.
  15. I believe as long as you both have a ticket you can be in the same shoot.
  16. Go for it. I decided to just do it as I'll never get it done otherwise. I'll take them out and reseal them if I ever get the chance to add to them.
  17. You can use the pre order auto service if you want to guarantee an auto - It's about £5 more expensive, but you won't get to meet her. As others have said, if you get there early, go straight to her queue and get a VQ ticket and stay until you get through (if your ticket is one of those that get's through) then you should be ok, however it's not guaranteed. If you want the surety of getting to meet her and getting through without the Diamond pass, and without hoping you'll be able to get through the next day, then you would need to get the Gold. As far as I am aware the Gold pass covers the whole event, you can't buy a 1 day gold pass.. As far it's been stated if you have a Gold pass you do not need a VQ to meet a diamond guest unless it specifically says you do. It currently says you may in case they do apply that to any of the guests. It will be stated in their info if this is the case - it's not so far. A Gold pass just allows you to join the back of the queue, so you don't need a VQ and can join at any time but you can't go to the front of the queue. I hope that helps.
  18. I've had my Sherlocked signed items framed and thought I'd share them. And my Imitation poster that I had done at the same time.
  19. Showmasters really do run very good and well organised events. Yes it's hectic and everything isn't always perfect or even ideal, they are well organised, they listen to reason and take suggestions on board unlike some other event's I've been to. Just remember, if you are unsure of anything, if you have any clashes with shoots/talks/auto's talk to the crew on the relevant queue and they will help out where they can but they can't help you after a shoot or talk has finished..
  20. i get that the prices at the top range can be a bit of a shock if you aren't expecting it or aren't too familiar with these types of shows, but it really doesn't take a lot to understand why the prices are what they are. Fees have to be paid, costs covered and there has to be some profit, it is a business after all. However sometimes I honestly think people think Jason and the team sit around going "Bwah ha ha! Lets bleed the naive fools dry!"
  21. Kitt's don't worry. It will be busy but there's nothing to cause any panic about. Just remember that when you arrive at the venue, the best idea, unless you have something you have to get to then and there that you can't do later, such as a talk, is to go and get any VQ auto tickets you need first and then you can look around and see where you need to go later for your shoots and look at all the stalls whilst you are waiting for your numbers to come up for the auto's and photo's.
  22. Re chatting to MJF - with the bigger guests always assume it will be a conveyor belt where you barely get a look in and you will be prepared. Anything else you get interaction wise will then be a bonus. The expense of the ticket doesn't relate to the practicalities unfortunately. I had a Platinum ticket at Sherlocked in order to guarantee getting an auto from Benedict Cumberbatch and there was no way you had time to really chat with him. There was time for a 'Hello, thanks for being here' and then it was on to the next person. I know the situations are different but MJF might not be signing for long and even though he's there for the weekend he might not have a lot of extra time. I'm not saying you won't have a chance to chat but remember you may have a couple of hundred people behind you that need to get through as well.
  23. Regarding the auto If you have a diamond pass you get one auto icluded in your ticket, a second at £75. As the limit is 5 in total any extra you want would be at the original price. Say you wanted 4: 1st is free as it's included 2nd £75 3rd £95 4th 95. When you get near the front of the line there will be a desk to pay at. You tell the lovely people behind how many you want and they mark it on a ticket that they will give back to you. You will show them your diamond pass, they should know that the second will be reduced and any extra full priced so you just pay the total cost of all 3 inn one go at the same time. When you get to the front of the queue you give the crew member sitting next to Sigourney the ticket that shows how many auto's youv paid for. I hope that helps with regard to the autographs.
  24. If you mean pre book for an in person auto It would be very hard to run. How many would they offer? I know what you mean, it would make things a lot easier for attendees if you knew you had an auto ticket but the variables are too great. If they sell 500 for example but Ms Weaver is a slow signer or lots of people get multiple autos what happens if they only get through 300 of those tickets. The other 200 will be up in arms demanding the auto they have paid for. As for giving out the tickets on Friday that is extremely unfair, it would force people to take days off they maybe can't/don't want to, possibly pay for an extra day's accommodation just to be there on friday to get one slip of paper. There have been designated queues for popular guests before too. I don't know if this is the plan for Sigourney - I currently don't even have an idea if the venue allows this - but that would be one method for crowd control for example. Raylenth is definitely right, handing out VT on Friday for the other days is definitely not going to happen. Other than reading it on this thread I didn't know it had been tried before but it's interesting that they have. Like you said SM will have their reasons for doing/not doing it. I suppose if you kept the numbers small it might be doable and go to a vq/open queue after.
