  1. Re sell out, your situation is slightly different in that the show has sold out on the Saturday and Sunday and you haven't bought the diamond pass yet, but if you buy it now knowing it's sold out and you won't get entry on the Saturday and Sunday that is your choice. The Diamond pass is a whole package and if a ticket holder chooses not to or cannot do part of it it is down to them.
  2. http://showmastersonline.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=87457 It may just take a little bit longer to get there teabelly. Have a look at the above thread for other discussions on this. IIRC you've got a gold ticket haven't you so you won't be joining the huge day ticket queue? Just allow for the fact that you may have to walk the last part from Earl's Court which I think people have said is about 10 minutes.
  3. That's the problem ultimately, the only people who win are the touts. I am not aware of any organisation that sells tickets for popular events that doesn't have some sort of problem. You either need really extensive measures in place to stop it as much as possible initially, like building ID into the tickets which would be expensive or you need massive logistics to have time for thorough checks before the show opens everyday. Both are time consuming and potentially expensive.
  4. Unfortunately it really is a case of buyer beware. If people buy these tickets that then get cancelled it's up to the buyer to pursue, to chase the seller through small claims court as they sold on tickets that they were legally bound not to sell on. It's unfortunate for the crew who have to deal with it but if SM choose to cancel the identifiable tickets it's not their responsibility to help the buyer in any way. Also as stated a lot of people don't come on the forum so even if SM do as you suggest and post here it's unlikely that those buying will see this message. Unfortunately it really needs to be in the print on the eticket that if it has been sold on by the ticket holder against policy the ticket may be canceled and invalid when scanned and that that SM will not be accountable for resold and cancelled tickets.
  5. Hard/semi rigid plastic is ok for transport in my opinion but yeah, not for long term storage.
  6. Unfortunately the turnaround time for emails isn't instant at the moment as they are fairly inundated.
  7. You'd probably need to contact the shop for that, the mods won't have access to the posting information.
  8. I've had my Stargate posters in the cardboard tubes for years now and have used them to go to many events and they are absolutely fine. The only 'issues' with poster tubes is that you can get a bit of wear and tear as it were to the edges if you have to take it out a lot as obviously they are quite tight so you have no choice but to handle the edges a bit to get it out - but that happens over time, and you obviously have to be totally sure the sig is dried before you roll it up. Also if the poster is rolled picture and sigs out, you don't want it rubbing against the cardboard much in case the sig is damaged. It's best to get a poster that is rolled with the picture inside to ensure it's best protected. A week's storage will be no issue.
  9. Re the entry ticket thing, this was the first year with the Diamond guests so I'm sure SM have learned from all the people who have done exactly that and will seriously think about instituting it in the future. It could be argued that if people have bought tickets without entry it is entirely their fault if it then sells out but it's a lot of hassle that SM don't need trying to sort it all out and the emails they must be getting about it.
  10. If you can email that to Queen Sindel, her email is in her profile. If the person's email is showing I think SM would be very interested in that as it's very traceable.
  11. I'd think it was £15, I can't see him being £25.
  12. I don't know if it's been mentioned but put limits on the number of entry tickets a person can buy. It doesn't stop people buying them specifically to resell but will limit them.
  13. Unfortunately it doesn't in the slightest. A lot of people don't have photo ID, if they don't drive or have a passport so the seller can simply provide the buyer with one of their old bills to show.
  14. I haven't read through the whole thing yet but whilst I understand action will need to be taken I am a bit afraid that people like myself will be frozen out of attending. I have been coming to your shows for years but not to everyone and hate the thought that it will become like SDCC and tickets sell out in the first day meaning casual attendees cannot go.
  15. This is one of my concerns as I've got quite a few blu Rays and box sets signed. I think they look great though, generally I do collect personalised 8x10s Had the same thought tbh but I settled on making exceptions for special editions/steelbooks! Haha I do have a couple of signed VHS's, I think both are Dr Who ones, and they reside in the loft in a 'signed items' seal-able plastic crate. I don't regret getting them but think it's a shame I can't display them like I could a picture.
  16. There are tickets left for each day on the ticket website but yes it doesn't say how many are left.
  17. i know a lot of people like getting DVD's signed but personally I would go for a book/poster/8x10 all the time. I always think that once DVD's are obsolete it will be odd to have a load of DVD's still.
  18. If they aren't sold out then they should be available at the event.
  19. I'm doubly lucky! I think I may have his Dr Who book and can go and look for it this weekend.
  20. As you are both getting Star Wars stuff signed have you seen this offer from Showmasters in the Star Wars section? http://showmastersonline.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=89319
  21. My advice when it comes to framing signed posters is to have them Mounted that way the poster/auto's don't touch the glass nothing worse than finding out the poster has got stuck to the glass. Bit more expensive but well worth it. Although my local framers does a encapsulating service bit like laminating the poster good idea how ever its permanent ! And there for you can't get to the poster to add Auto's on a later date if you wish to do so. Thank you for your advice! I have 2 "gallery and framing" places in my town both of whom deal with old style artwork and paintings. They should be able to mount the posters for me though I'd imagine. As this may have to wait a week or so for next pay day, is storing them in their poster tube until then advisable? Also, sorry to ask what is probably a daft question, but what's the difference looks wise when mounted? Thanks again. Mounted simply means a piece of thickish angle edged card around the edge of the picture between it and the frame. It can make it a bit more expensive as you need a larger frame to take into consideration the additional size of the mount but it's worth it. As well as keeping the picture off the glass it looks much nicer. I recently got some of my multi signed stuff properly framed as it's worth it to protect them. I got 4 items framed and it did cost nearly £200 but it's worth it so they look good and are protected. One of them was very large which was why it cost so much. This one is a box frame so a little bit deeper, it's a metal Displate. This one is the film poster so is huge.
  22. You asking that question was quite lucky for me. I hadn't really looked at the YALC section and I have a young friend who is a huge Minecraft fan so I may try to get those authors sigs as a surprise for her.
  23. Will there be an extra charge for book signings? No – all our YALC book signing events are completely free! You can either bring books with you for authors to sign, or buy books from our on-site Waterstones bookshop. Please note that the number of books each author can sign may be limited and/or other restrictions may be put in place if queues are very long. http://www.londonfilmandcomiccon.com/index.php/yalc/yalc-faq http://www.londonfilmandcomiccon.com/index.php/yalc/yalc-schedule
