  1. Hi Calumn Not totally sure yet what time I am getting to MK on Sunday , but I will get you a ticket at whatever time , and if you get a better one from elsewhere , no harm has been done . Daren
  2. Those are just the really popular horror movies though that people who do not even like the horror genre still like! There are plenty of other genuinely scary movies out there. 866095[/snapback] That is exactly the point that I am trying to make - someone actually asked for stars from Scream , and I don't even consider that a Horror film , as , I suspect , a lot of fans of films by George Romero and Sam Raimi etc don't . Those 3 are miles away from being my faves , but are probably three of the most popular " horrors " .
  3. When people in general talk about REALLY scary horror movies , they normally mean something like The Exorcist or The Shining or Jaws . As Dave has kowpowed Max Von Sydow and as Jason Miller has passed on , I presume no-one else in The Exorcist , with the possible exception of Ellen Burstyn fits the bill . I somehow don't think that if Dave could get Jack Nicholson , he could afford to only have 1000 customers per day , and , sadly , Scatman Carruthers has also passed on . This , to me , leaves JAWS . Of the two , I can see more chance of Richard Dreyfuss doing one of these shows maybe than Roy Scheider , but then surely Dave would have sold him not as an horror star but as a star of sci-fi , horror , thriller , comedy etc . I am therefore plumping for Roy Scheider Any ideas on this guys ? Am I close Dave ?
  4. Can I just possibly stick my oar in on this one Stuart / guys ( and sorry , some of this is a little off topic , just general queue stuff ) ? I think that Paul is probably a little outnumbered ( not that it is a competetion / poll ) in people who do not like the VT way - if you could show me a better way I would hold my hand up , but I can't think of one . Most people are not going to these events to just meet one person , so then how can you be in more than one real queue at the same time , other than in a Virtual way ? At some shows , I have wanted to meet maybe 10/12 actors , and the virtual ticket system allows me to at least have a chance of doing this . The system is not infallible because of the way the stars go about signing and meeting people - on the same day that Carrie Fisher met over 1100 people , Billy Boyd , with his slightly friendlier attitude , only managed to meet about 400 so there were still a lot of people with virtual tickets that could not meet him . One thing I wonder about though happened to me at LFACC last time . I got there almost an hour earlier on Sunday than my friend , and having met everyone for myself on Saturday I got VTs for him . He didn't know this , so collected the same tickets almost an hour later himself . Imagine my surprise then that EVERY ticket he got that much later than me was some way before mine in the queue . How did that happen ? Do ALL the stewards pick and choose whether to give someone a ticket from the back or the front of the book ? I could understand maybe some being before mine ( well I can't really but am allowing for mistakes ) , but every single one ( and I mean maybe 6/7 here ) were before mine . Does his face fit better than mine ( and no fly remarks here Stuart ) ? What is the point of getting to the queue to get a virtual ticket if even these are not given in the correct order ? I am all for this system over any current alternative , but this has thrown another element into the debate for me .
  5. A lot of people seem to think that a person will sign exactly the same autograph every time , but they will probably NEVER sign the same one twice . I have a book signed by all these except Chloe and , to me , the Robert is almost exactly the same , the others are similar but have slight discrepancies - all the Chris Barrie ones I have seen seem to be signed on the same line , but I do not know if he sometimes signs his surname below , Danny's signature is a lot more spread out than on my book but did he have more room , the Ts at the end of Norman's surname seem different , and the Craig Charles one seem to be leaning to the right whereas mine is straight up . The signatures give some idea that these COULD be fake , but maybe the biggest pointer is the attitude of the seller , and his ignorance of where the item was signed . As for eBay selling 90% fakes , I have not heard so much C**P in my life - there are plenty of good dealers , and it is a matter of weeding out the dodgy ones . Fair enough if you want to get items signed yourself , but some people do not have the opportunity to do this . I personally have sold items on eBay of people like Patrick Troughton and Jon Pertwee and I have never had any proof that these were real - I collected them myself , but never felt the need in the early eighties to get photos of them being signed , or even remembering the exact date they were signed . It is a personal choice to either buy or not , and if you deal with smaller " businesses " you do take more of a risk . But there are plenty of dealers who are very trustworthy , and if you want a Alec Guinness or a Gene Rodenberry then these are your only chance really . I hope the buyer has a real signed item , but am not entirely convinced about this item - but I do not know
  6. Sean Pertwee is the SON of Jon Pertwee , not brother , and David Troughton is also the SON of Patrick Troughton , not brother , although at least he has been in episodes of Doctor Who
  7. I was there and met him both days , got him to sign my LOTR posters , and a 8x10 of the TTT poster . Realised afterwards that he had put his autograph over Ian Holm's signature on my ROTK poster - am taking it quite well , but probably because I am already beyond help Nice chap , and he is making another album with Rhapsody , a band who I have liked for a LONG time
  8. Amy: DAVID!!! David: Amy: IT's ME!! David: Amy: You know! AMY UNDERSCORE ESS!! David: Ah...Hi Amy: Hi!!! David: Hi. Amy: Hiya!! Anyway, better go my sister's waiting. BYE!! David: Bye. Amy: Bye! Amy: David: Amy: Awww, I would have LOVED that conversation! I kinda had similar ones with lots of others who had to run off too! I had that exact same conversation with Stuart ( TOO TALL ) on Saturday morning I was slightly ...... from a party the night before and had very little sleep , but I came away thinking ( what I actually thought was more like " What a f**king no-brain idiot you sounded like then Daren , no wonder you went to the show on your own " ) . I will get over it though ........... or die trying .
  9. I managed to compose my own one for HIM - Join Me In Death , now if only I had a friend who would phone me I would get to hear it
  10. That is an horrible thing to say about the actors , they tried , and that is all you can ask for
  11. Mine would be ( for now , probably change soon ) :- DREAM Roswell Breakfast Club Angel Clive Barker's Nightbreed LOTR Fellowship Blade Runner Hitchiker's Guide To The Galaxy Star Trek - guests from all series Phoenix Nights NIGHTMARE Any reality TV - especially Big Brother Any soap Vicar Of Dibley The Office Father Ted Goodness Gracious Me
  12. p.s he's doing already a convention in london near that time so i don't think they will get him. Alexander has just been added to the cast at a London Theatre , starting soon - I think the one with either Kim Cattrall or Mary Elisabeth Mastrantonio .
  13. I think MOST of the guests will be £15 , with the probable exception of Burt Reynolds , Michael Biehn and Johnathan Frakes - but it will proabably be better to allow for £20 each , then have money left for others .
  14. Am so chuffed - will now be meeting all 6 regulars within the first month of SGA being aired in the UK
  15. Just for a change , CRADLE OF FILTH - NYMPHETAMINE - what a fantastic album , but very quiet.............not .
  16. Is that it - you lot know nothing about stupidity I once missed my bus at a Hotel in Hamburg , Germany , and ended up stuck there when it left without me . Even more stupid than me though , I went to the receptionist to ask where the rest of the people were and she said that it had gone , but oddly they had set off without someone , and she had no idea where they had got to - yet I was standing there in front of her , asking about the rest of the people Put me in any situation where music is involved , and I will usually **ck up somewhere , like passing out watching my favourite band , or meeting the singer when I had bad sunstroke , and not realising till later , or , even funnier , someone from my favourite band ( a band from America ) phoned my house to talk to me , but I had swapped shifts to help a mate out , and was at work - how sick is that ?
  17. For me :- TOS - Only met Walter Koenig ( at C6 ) , so would go for Leonard Nimoy or The Shatner . TNG - Looking forward to meeting Johnathan Frakes , but otherwise Michelle Forbes ( Ensign Ro - mainly from my favourite episode , The Next Phase ) . DS9 - Avery Brooks probably , or Rene Aubergine Voyager - JERI RYAN - what a fantastic actress - no other reason . Enterprise - Jolene Blalock - I have to say ( and you might think that I am weird here - you may be right ) but I find her far sexier as a Vulcan that as a human
  18. I really enjoyed seeing Ernie ( and even asked him a really BAD question ) but couldn't afford to meet him as I had only taken so much money , but , even if I had met him , I would agree with bringing him to another show because he was so FAN FRIENDLY . He really was very nice , and seemed to enjoy meeting the fans of ALL his films - and he has been in some popular films And as for Tiggerific saying that if someone wanted to REALLY meet someone they would , please see that money , work and family , amongst a LOAD of other reasons , get in the way - I have just been made unemployed , so should I pay for Ernie's autograph or maybe pay for food ? I am not being funny with you , but please be aware that people working , or really skint , gets in the way of going to shows and meeting ALL the guests that you would want .
  19. Paul McGann for me - but only cos I have already met Pete Postlethwaite , a very nice man and a real " luvvy " I have seen PM at shows but not yet got to meet him - and would also be happy meeting Chris Fairbank ( 5th Element ) or Clive Mantle ( Robin Of Sherwood ) .
  20. Hi there Try at oneposter.com or moviestore.com , these have sone stuff . If no good let us know and I may have others .
  21. I met him , he was great , very friendly , and spoke with venom about my favourite film of his - SPACEHUNTER He was fantastic , and would be great with Michael Ironside ( another one from Spacehunter )
  22. For me , I think it has to be Breakfast Club , then Some Kind Of Wonderful , then Pretty In Pink , although Pretty In Pink is without doubt the most watched film even in my household since I was a kid - I always had a thing ( can't totally explain it now ) for Molly Ringwald , and my sister had a crush on Andrew McCarthy . I just , finally , got to meet Molly ( twice ) a few weeks back - the first time she was crabby and I missed getting something signed , the second time she was very late , but friendly and signed my Breakfast Club poster ( shame AMH never turned up at that show earlier in the year ). Without John Hughes in my childhood , I may have actually turned out quite normal - but probably not Some Kind Of Wonderful is 2nd because I just worshipped Mary Stuart Masterson as a tomboy - the scene at the end blows me away even now I think that JH sort of lost his way after Planes , Trains And Automobiles and Home Alone - can't even think of what he did after
  23. Well chuffed with Veronica Cartwright , just bought the new version and watched this film again ( how many times now ? ) , and got Ian Holm to sign my DVD . I am a LOTR fan , and Buffy , and Stargate and various others , but I get seriously ANNOYED when a fan of a different film or franchise posts in a guest announcement , even if they say great but where's the ...... guest . It is very bad manners - post who you want in a different thread , don't post negative in a guest announcement , there is NO NEED . If you are happy , then post , otherwise , keep asking in the RIGHT THREAD for who you want . Go Alien Quadrilogy ( or Trilogy as some of you think - sadly I prefer film 4 to film 3 , and I hate film 4 ) film guests - keep up the good work SM
