  1. Lol, I have been spending all day today getting organised. We're leacing for London on Thursday, and I have made a list with all that needs to be packed. I am doing laundry as we speak with the last things I want to take, and have a pile on my spare bed with photo's, posters, DVD covers etc. So, you're not sad, just well-organised
  2. My record stands at 25 years for Rutger Hauer, who I finally met earlier this year. For the guests appearing at this con, Derek Jacobi has been a facourite of mine since I first saw Cadfael, at about 12 years old. Since I am now 30, I have been waiting for 18 years to meet him, and am making my mother very jealous, as she is a fan of his too :)
  3. If you can find me, you can have some Not telling you what I look like though, make it a treasure hunt
  4. I usually bring stroopwafels (Dutch cookies) for the people who I know have been in the Netherlands, and the people who I think will enjoy them. I have 16 packages, but don't know yet who I'll give them to. hmmm.... stroopwafels...
  5. which would be awesome! I'm going to a 8 movie, 26 hour marathon right after I come back from London, it will be LEGEN- wait for it... -DARY! Well, I'd be more than willing to pull out my McGonagall for a shot at a world record :)
  6. This is really cool, I met Nicholas in 2004 (I think) at a Dutch convention, and have always wanted to meet him again, as he is a really nice man. Good to see he'll be at LFCC!
  7. What I bought (aside from autographs) - wild cherry pepsi - cherry dr Pepper - rootbeer - first and last time, that stuff is nasty! It smells like socks and chewing gum, and tastes worse IMO - Little Green Aliens earrings (from Toy Story, they are just awesome) - renewed subscription for Fetishman comics - DVD The Long Way Down (funnily enough I'd bought the book a day earlier) - 2 Robert Rankin books I was in London for a few more days and bought about 30 books in total, as well as DVD's voor my brother, and a supply of food that I can't get in Holland.
  8. I had the honour of meeting him too, and it was really enjoyable. I told him my parents are big Robin Hood fans, and he gave me a lovely smile for the memories of working with Errol Flynn. We brought his "Tackle Fencing: an Introduction to the Foil" which we unearthed after a search on the internet, and again, that lovely smile at recognising the book was worth more than the signature he put in. I am very sorry to have missed the talk though, I hope it was good for those who were there!
  9. Since the wifi at earl's court isn't free, I probably won't Tweet there. International roaming for internet is still pretty expensive, I'd rather spend my money on autographs :-) Will see if the hotel has wifi...
  10. Last year's Scott Bakula print was lovely, a collage of different shots. Hope this will be of the same ilk :)
  11. The funny thing is, last year at LFCC I strolled through the comic section, really just chatting to a friend of mine, as we are both not that into comics, when our eyes were drawn to one particular table. It was Geof Banyard, with his Fetishman comic. We got chatting, and ended up buying all the backnumbers of the comic and getting a subscription for the next ones, as it turned out to be a very very funny comic indeed. For someone who really only goes to LFCC for the Film part, the comic part had quite a big influence in the end! I like being surprised, and getting smaller names from the comic world can be very pleasantly surprising. Here in Holland I go to comic fairs all the time, so the Dutch artists are old hat for me , but meeting people whose work I've never seen is something I actually prefer.
  12. We're booked since I think about 4 weeks now. Weren't sure all four of us could get time off, so we had to wait. We're about 5 mins walk away, and quite cheaply (GBP 90 a night for 4-person room with kitchenette, so we can actually have breakfast before getting in line at 6 AM)
  13. It says so on his IMDB page, so I guess he will. I read yesterday Sam Jackson has a NINE film deal for the character, so they're throwing him into every film they can.
  14. I was just thinking aloud in the general chat topic, but with Toy Story 3 coming out a week after LFCC, I'd love to do a Little Green Man costume. It's not that hard, basically a blue tracksuit with the right patch, green three fingered hands and a big green head with three eyes. I wonder if I could do that in the two months before the con. And make it so I can actually bring it in my suitcase on the plane, lol!
  15. Too bad the release date for TS3 is a week AFTER LFCC, we could have gone with a group :-) I'd actually really like to do a TS costume, would have to choose between Little Bo Peep and Jessie. But, a little green man costume would really kick ass too. (bit unwieldy though) I just loved the Black Widow, she was ubercool. For the next few years, we have a superhero lineup that's overflowing with coolness! 2011: Thor, Cptn America and Nick Fury will get their movies, Wolverine 2 2012: Avengers and Batman 3 I'm probably leaving many out, but those are the ones that spring to mind. Wasn't Storm supposed to get her own movie too?
  16. Went to see Iron Man 2 yesterday, and now I love Scarlett Johansson even more then I already did! Loved the movie, would have liked to see more of Ivan Vanko though. Is there a double feature of Toy Story 1&2 in 3D in the UK too? I really want to go, but it's only till wednesday, and they all start between 9.45 and 13.00. I'm going to try to get half a day off from work to go there, would love to see these two movies in the cinema!
  17. Basically you get: - entry - free talks (ALL talks) with seating on first rows - goodie bag/autograph pack - immediate entry to all autograph queues (but you still need to pay for autographs) - immediate entry to all photoshoot queues (but you still need to pay for and have a ticket for the shoot) You won't have to stand there at 6.30 in order to be first at the VQ tickets, you don't need any. You can get in any line at any time, so you get your autographs quickly. Same goes for the photoshoots, but you will have to check the schedule for those of course. What you are buying is time. No endless waiting, no getting up at 5. Plus the autograph pack of course.
  18. Yes, you still need to buy a photoshoot ticket, you just don't have to wait.
  19. Lol, good dream that one. Let's just hope it's not prophetic, eh? I'm looking really forward to LFCC, we (me, hubby and two friends) are arriving on Thursday morning to spend a couple of days enjoying London, then two days at the con and we leave on Monday. I intend to go to a show on Thursday, I really want to see Avenue Q. Is everyone else just coming for the weekend or are you guys staying longer too?
  20. I'm thinking of doing a cosplay this time too. Haven't done any in a while, will need to think about what to do. In my wardrobe I've got: - Star Trek uniform - Robin Hood (but based on the Trek episode "Qpid") - Grease dress. No, I am not wearing that. Period. - Sul'dam dress from the Wheel of Time books, but no-one will recognize it probably - Professor McGonagall outfit (is the easiest one, but will the bulky skirt and cape fit in my suitcase?) I have been wanting to do a Malificent outfit (from Disney's Sleeping Beauty) for a long long time. I've finally started my sketches, but this will be a long term project. Hope to wear it to LFCC one day though, I think her outfit is fantastic.
  21. Hoi, Gaan er nog mensen naar LFCC 2010? Wij weten het nog niet helemaal zeker, maar waarschijnlijk gaan we een lekker weekend Londen doen met alles erop en eraan. Voor degenen die ook gaan: tot dan!
  22. Aaaah, Bill Shatner. I already have several of his autos from CM a few years ago, but have since discovered Boston Legal, and have a 5 captains 8x10 that needs to be filled. Am glad for the announcement, my wallet, bank account and credit card will weep.
  23. René is one of the sweetest men i ever met, i recommend anyone who goes to cml to meet him. (Sorry bout grammar there, had brain blank there ...) i still don't know if i can go, but if i can, i'll sure drop by René!
