  1. Just so you know, the following page has guests from 7.7: http://massiveevents.co.uk/chevron78/info.php?extraautos
  2. I only see 3 photos there, none are from the event though. I'm guessing the 3 that do show are the only ones set to public?
  3. Hey Your right, if you get your own item signed you are more than welcome to take a photo too so long as you dont try and get it signed You are usually allowed to take a 10x8 if they're not running out. If I'm not getting one of them signed I often ask if it's okay to take one anyway. If they're right in front of a guest and not on a separate table this might be the best thing to do to avoid situations like this.
  4. I know who you mean but I can't remember their name, sorry. I'll have a think though, see if I remember. They attended LFCC too I think, so if you attend these events regularly, you may well see them at the next signing event you attend.
  5. Another problem was Armin Shimerman's queue. Some friends of mine arrived a couple of hours before me and went over to Armin's table to get some VTs but were told he was an open queue. By the time we got there later on he was now on a VT system (using Alex Kingston VTs). I know this was because he was signing slowly and spending time chatting, but main cast Star Trek guests are usually popular so it'd be good if Showmasters assumed they'd need VTs and hand them out from the start. If they turn out to be less busy then the queue can always be opened to everyone. In the case of my friends who got there early, they were at more of a disadvantage than people who got there later than them as they only found out they needed a VT hours after they had started being given out.
  6. At EMS there were flyers and posters for Chevron 7.8 which stated it is a Stargate and Sanctuary convention. Though I don't know if that's a one-off thing for when Amanda is here, or if it will continue past 7.8. It would've been nice for that to have been announced on the forum though. With this news though, this guest announcement now fits perfectly with the convention.
  7. Someone posted a link here: http://showmastersonline.com/forums/index....owtopic=71345#8 I'm on my phone and that link doesn't seem to be working properly, it's the 8th post of that thread.
  8. She didn't do the talk in the end it was just Eddie, Armin and Kitty. Ah ok, thanks.
  9. What was Jen like in the trek talk? I didn't get there early enough to go to it.
  10. Ah yes, I know the stall. But didn't see the stall until after 11 which explains why I didn't see the diary there. I'll look out for it at the next event.
  11. I forgot about it but didn't see it anywhere.
  12. Was it the same one that does the bronze coloured metal books/diaries with designs on the front, or is it another dealer?
  13. The entry problem was apparently caused by a massive misunderstanding with Earls Court staff and I can only apologize. I got hold of crew at the event and they confirmed this won't happen again tomorrow. Sorry, it does look like you missed the announcement that the big guest area wasn't going to be used today. That was posted last night. I'm sorry to hear the crew member gave you wrong info when you asked. Maybe this wasn't mentioned in the general crew meeting and you asked someone from another area who unfortunately didn't know. The lighting is a venue thing I'm afraid and not much Showmasters can do about it unless there were large areas where the lights were switched off or something like that. Speaking of entry problems, I got there at about 10:40 I think and wanted to buy an early entry ticket so I didn't have to queue and get in after 11. An Earls Court woman on the door said I couldn't get one this late and had to queue up outside. I knew she was talking nonsense and found my way to the ticket booth and managed to get an early ticket, but non-regular event attendees would have just listened to her and wasted their time. The Earls Court staff really need to be a bit more in the loop of how things work in future.
  14. I bought a Predator from Buydezignmodels to go with my Alien that I bought from them at Collectormania Nice, where did you find that? How much was it?
  15. I thought it was an ok episode, had good and bad elements. I really am getting tired of really stupid stuff in Doctor Who though. There has to be a bit of cheesiness occasionally or it'd not be Doctor Who, but why have stupid things like the cybermat with teeth. I was fine with it in the episode until they showed the teeth, that just made it ridiculous, and then with it jumping around attacking people, cringe-worthy to watch. It'd work well in something like Red Dwarf, but Doctor Who sometimes needs to take itself a bit more seriously.
  16. I've mentioned this in another thread and other people I know who met her thought the same. I don't know about her being rude, she at least said "Thank you" to me when I said "Have a good weekend", but she ignored me completely before that, no reply to my hello and didn't even look up at me until after signing the autograph. I was very disappointed and it wasn't a great experience, but not my worst *cough* Shatner *cough*, but I didn't expect it with her at all She was apparently odd in the photo shoots too (I didn't have one myself though), just standing like a statue with her arms straight by her side, not moving, the photos do look a bit awkward too.
  17. I've just got back from EMS and personally I didn't enjoy this event as much as other Showmasters events. It wasn't bad, it just wasn't that great. I think the venue layout was pretty bad and hope we stick to Earls Court 2 or Olympia for future London events. It wasn't that easy to find things, I often lost track of where certain dealers were. There was a good range of talks but from the middle backwards (seating) it wasn't always easy to hear what was being said, in many cases it was actually impossible. The speakers really need to be louder and/or an extra speaker at the back (I think they were just at the front and middle?). I only met a couple of guests, Jennifer Lien and Armin Shimerman. Jennifer was a bit of a disappointment really, she didn't seem like she wanted to be there and the most I got out of her at the autograph table was "Thank you" in a very quiet mousy voice. Armin was great though, very friendly and chatty. As I said it wasn't a bad event but it was a little disappointing. The main problems which can hopefully be fixed in future are the venue and the talks being too quiet. What did everyone else think?
  18. I used stairs to get out, two different sets of stairs I think too. The elevator was out of order when I went over to it though.
  19. I suspect if there were going to be any restrictions for photo shoots then it would have been mentioned in the initial announcement. Just checking, thanks.
  20. For RDA we were informed about the limit right from the start, so I'd think it would have been mentioned if there were no extras. But I'll try to get this confirmed. Thanks Mark has kindly confirmed that extra autographs will indeed be available for Amanda. He is already in London for EMS, so he couldn't confirm the ticket price. But autograph tickets will go on sale along with the entry tickets. Thanks, I don't urgently need to know the price, just good to know that it's possible to get an extra auto. I suppose with her seeming to be a normal guest with no restrictions like RDA, photo shoots with her will also be available to Standard ticket holders? I should have asked before but I don't usually get photo shoots so didn't think to ask.
  21. For RDA we were informed about the limit right from the start, so I'd think it would have been mentioned if there were no extras. But I'll try to get this confirmed. Thanks
  22. I think it depends but generally I'd say I prefer them to be focused on one show (or franchise). Chevron includes all Stargates but most Stargate fans like all three shows, or at least two of them so they work when combined. The ones with the big mixes so far haven't really been for me though. I think Hallowhedon had some Firefly guests that I'd like to have met but I wasn't really interested in the other guests. If I was attending the Return to Middle Earth I'd probably not be that happy about having Game of Thrones guests (I watch it but not really interested in meeting the actors from it). Chevron 7.8 has had a Sanctuary guest announced which I find a bit odd, but as a big fan of Sanctuary I'm fine with it, though others may not be.
  23. Agreed. We have had a lot of SG-1 guests (which is great) but we definitely need some more SGA and SGU guests in future too. And as much as I love Sanctuary, and Robin is a great Sanctuary guest, I do find it a bit odd that he's attending a Stargate convention, to my knowledge he's never been in Stargate. I'm not trying to sound negative, he's a good guest, it's just not the ideal event for him as not all Stargate fans are Sanctuary fans. Anyway, I look forward to meeting him too
  24. Will extra autographs be available for Amanda or will we be limited to only one like we were with RDA?
