Couldn't they have not greenlit Universe and let us keep Atlantis for another year? lol

Apparently it's more MGM than SCI-Fi that cancelled Atlantis. There has to be something to replace it with because I don't think Sci-fi has that many viewers. I could be wrong.

I'm kind of sad because I do enjoy Atlantis but I can see why they'd want to cancel it. I think they're running out of ideas, especially because they have to do something that SG-1 haven't already done. I wouldn't mind another series but wasn't Jason Momoa (Ronon) planning to leave at the end of this season anyway? And Torri decided not to come back. And Beckett was written out (sort of). They're planning a film next year which hopefully will be good. I think I was more sad that SG-1 got cancelled than Atlantis. With SG-1 everything was all new but with Atlantis they've only really got the Wraith to fight against and you only ever really see Michael these days...

What do you guys think of Laurence Fishburne joining/maybe joining the cast? He's no Grissom but it could work.

Bit of news: According to Digital Spy Russell T. Davies has revealed that Torchwood's third season will be entitled 'Children Of Earth'. The mini-season, directed by Euros Lyn, will run over five consecutive nights on BBC One next spring. Davies told Torchwood Magazine: "More than ever before, this series of Torchwood will be director-led, and it will look absolutely amazing." Filming will begin in Cardiff on August 18 and details of casting are due to be released shortly. Freema Agyeman was expected to join the Torchwood team as Martha Jones, but her recent decision to star in ITV1's Law And Order has put her appearance in doubt.

Did you guys hear that apparently Freema is doing something for ITV and isn't going to be in Torchwood... I don't know how legit that news is but still.

Do you think the reason the Doctor hasn't got a companion is because next year is all specials? So he can have a few different ones or none at all if you see what I mean...

Actually I didn't really like the first episode of the new series but I've read about some other episodes and they sound really good

At least Georgia/David isn't as creepy as Hayden/Milo from Heroes... I wish I could go out with DT....

I don't mind Mickey but I don't think there's a need for him in Torchwood. As harsh at it sounds, I think they could find someone better for Torchwood. Someone new to join the team of familiar faces.

I agree. Martha has become a bit rubbish really. And I refuse to believe that she's that senior to have the responsibility of blowing up the whole planet. But the new Rambo Martha will be quite suited to Torchwood. Lots of things to blow up, or fail to blow up ...

Agreed - I think we will see Donna again, but I'm sure some people will be happy to see her go! There's always the possibility of her return but you could only have her interacting with the new companion otherwise her head might explode. lol

Not a fan of Mickey joining Torchwood either. David Tennant was brilliant in this episode, loved when he was mimicking Donna. Not a fan of the Rose scene on the beach but whatever, it's done with now. I really liked Donna in this episode. Loved when she was talking really fast like the Doctor :) Brilliant.

Mickey doesn't really have any skills. Unless he became a computer geek when in the parallel universe...
