  1. Hi everyone, just to provide some sort of update - I have now established that Showmasters do not have these photos and that the photographer who I thought was called is Giles actually took over the year after I went, so it wasn't him but actually a guy called Malcolm. Does this ring any bells with anyone? Giles does not have his contact details and a Google search is fruitless. I have also reached out to a few people in the Space community hoping they will know of this Malcolm but I am not hopeful in any sense. Any help would be appreciated, I feel I am one step away from having to put this to bed finally! Thanks, Al
  2. Hi all, its been a few years since I have been on here and I was wondering if anything has changed in the interim? I cannot see the images (nor any from the actual event of other guests either) on the Showmasters library page and have emailed Dave but believe that Giles the photographer I was told about (the new one???) does not have a working email address any more! Not sounding good even after all these years!
  3. Hi all It has been many years since I have been on here (I think a decade!!) and I'm sure I created a thread on this topic back then but I can't find it... anyway it is about old photoshoots. I attended Autographica in 2012 and met three astronauts, one of which was Buzz Aldrin and also Charlie Duke and Edgar Mitchell. I got my photos printed there and then and that was that. I then stored the photos away and never saw them again, I have looked high and low and moved house a few times in the meantime and I simply cannot find them. I sent numerous emails to Dave from Autographica who copied in Giles, their then photographer. Dave replied once and said that they did not have the database of the old photographer who took the photos and if thatc changes he would let me know. Well years have passed and nothing has ever materialised. My question is - does anyone have the details of the old photographer or can offer any advice at all? As you can imagine, I am DESPERATE to get hold the photos. I have been checking the photoshoot page on here a few times a year but it they are not there. Any help at all, would be so appreciated. Thanks all, Alex (a disappointed autographer!) PS I have posted this in another section of the forum to maximise my chances of finally getting this resolved!! I will now check here regularly but my email is kurtcobain2997@hotmail.com
  4. Hello all I met Ed Mitchell, Buzz Aldrin and Charlie Duke a while ago at Autographica and purchased the photo-shoots for each person (3). It all went well but I have recently discovered that I cannot find the photos anywhere. I thought they would have turned up by now but I have searched high and low with no success. I have contacted both Dave from Autographica and Giles (the current photographer) and they cannot help as they have said that my photos will eventually be uploaded onto the Showmasters online library but do not know when. In addition, my photos were taken with the old photographer (not Giles) and nobody seems to have any contact details for him. My questions are: 1. Does anyone know when my photos are likely to be uploaded online? 2. Does anyone have any contact details for the old photographer? Thanks very much in advance. Alex
  5. I would presonally like to see some more 1966 World Cup England players!
  6. Hey guys, sorry if this is a really obvious question, but will Sportsmania also be at Collectormania this year? It was last year.. and does anyone think there will be any 1966 World Cup guests? Thanks in advance! :) Alex
  7. I'm a bit confused. I though Les Munro was the last original Dambuster alive??
  8. Yes this is right. Both Allingham and Patch are the only British WWI veterans to see action. William Stone did not see any in WWI but did in WWII. But there is another Italian WWI veteran who also saw action, his name is Delfino Borroni (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Delfino_Borroni). I also think that Franz Kunstler saw action, but am not too sure (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Franz_K%C3%BCnstler). Also, Ray Grayston has passed away. Only Les Munro is left of the Dambusters.
  9. It would be brilliant to meet Les Munro. And let's see if we can get Richard Todd this year, as it all fell through last time! I would not be interested in paying to meet the nephew of Guy Gibson. He is only his nephew.
  10. I have just checked and Sydney Dowse died about 2 weeks ago, which is a real shame, as he sounded like a real character. There was a few good WWII guests this year at Autographica and with Jimmy James sadly passing, the list is growing ever few. Obviously there are many WWII than the small monority of WWI, but I am sure Henry Allingham would prove to be very popular indeed.
  11. I know it's a long shot, but who would be interested in having a WWI veteran at the next Autographica? I mean they are all at least 107, but Henry Allingham who is 111 and the last survivor of the Battle of Jutland, Somme and the formation of the RAF seems to sign fairly well through the mail. Would anyone be interested in meeting them and getting something signed if they were to attend?
  12. I wrote to him a few weeks ago and he signed some items for me. You can tell his writing his not what it used to be, but he is 85! But I can't imagine he will be signing many, if any at Autographica. He would not able to cope with the demand probably.
  13. I noticed this also, I didn't get checked on the way in, and I didnt have my wristband on. Hopefully this will get sorted for tomorrow as it is unfair people getting in for free when others have paid lots for passes etc.
