  1. Yeh, good taste PCM, missed the last few SW:Republics though what with having no money (grr Expo and dinners!), storylines still going strong? Oh and no news on my comic insurance as yet, Im going uni in september so hopefully I'll have something sorted out for then and I'll post some info up for the other person who was enquiring :) x
  2. Haha... warm.. I was positively sweating to death in my Boromir costume at C5... I reccomend no leather in a costume.. EVER. Good luck everyone with your costumes! Also what is everyone planning to go as? I think I have my four days planned: Day1: Briseis OR Hector (Troy) depending on whether I can get any decent screen caps of Bri's dresses. Day2: Boromir (with new improved Horn of Gondor. Day3: Lurtz (provided I can nail a good body make up colour and get my prosthetics right). Day4: Either a twi'lek Jedi (poss Aayla) or a normal Jedi, or possibly Padme if I can be bothered to make one of her gowns. Any thoughts?
  3. 0/10 (allergic to fish) hmm... naan bread
  4. Good to hear Toni :) we need MORE people in costume I wouldn't worry, I'm our SixthForm's friendly neighbourhood geek, I'm like a referance guide, I get called up whenever the computers break (a lot), someone 'can't quite remember /that/ actor from that thing in space' and such, its a peaceful exsistance and I love it :) x
  5. I voted for SeaQuest, childhood memories of growing up with that show All the ST's other wise, but it wouldn't be quite right without Patrick Stewart, and the mayhem that would be caused if he came, would be quite impressive, something to rival Elijah x
  6. Haha nothing wrong with purple hair stuffs :) I've had purple in mine before, just its a lot of dedication to a costume isnt it lol, dying your hair. Cool about the nightcrawler/lockheed/kitty prides at C6 :) Crazy person, up at 3am x
  7. As I'm a noobie, thought I'd fill this out so you have a small idea of what I'm like :) Name: Kyla Age: 17 Location: Chelmsford, Essex (about an hour north of London) Employment: Last week of 6thform- /woot!/ Freelance: Meh? Reading: 'The Complete History of Jack The Ripper' Phillip Sugden Summerplans: tFF, MotR, & Ring-C if I have the money, hoping to go messing on boats for a week with some mates on a canal Feeling: Stressed, general studies exam tomorrow and can't get into any revision Music: Damien Rice at the moment but most indie stuff, jazz and arty dance music heh Smoke?: Nope, makes me feel ill to be near smoke Do drugs?: I like my brain cells Read the newspaper?: Yup, daddy reads em and they're always around so yeh :) Go to church?: Nope because I don't have the time to fully dedicate myself to a religion, rather not have one than make a half assed participation Sleep with stuffed animals?: Yup, my old bear Teddy and an Angelina Ballerina doll a mate bought me Take walks in the rain?: Sure, if I missed the bus :) Talk to people even though you hate them?: Yeh, but I'm too nice and polite to hate anyone :) Drive?: I should, being nearly 18, but, lazy. Like to drive fast?: No, scares me, 2nd gear is good enough for me :) Believe in life on other planets?: Sure, probability is fairly high in th entire universe that theres some other life form Miracles?: Not overly sure, I think that if someone wants something bad enough to wish for a miracle then they're already being positive about the event so they're already taking steps to make it happen... so no, not really lol Astrology?: Did until that dodgy 10th planet came along and mucked it all up lol Magic?: Nah, not like spells and stuff, but good will etc yeh God?: Believe in something, not quite sure what it is though Satan?: As an opposite to a higher being that is all good? Sure Santa?: Me wishes, me likes reindeers with glowy noses lol Ghosts?: Probably not until I communicated with one Luck?: Yep Love at first sight?: No, you can't truely love someone/thing that you don't actually know Believe its possible to remain faithful forever?: Yes, if a person is strong enough Do you wish on stars?: Nope
  8. Sounds nifty Diamond would be a cool costume, maybe Psylocke too, if someone didn't mind having purple hair lol. That kid dressed as Gambit got my vote :) Gambits my second favourite comic character, well maybe 3rd, Nightcrawler and Lockheed head my favourites list lol! My Jango Fett graphic novel was a bit naff, quite dissapointed, ah well I'm sure SW Republic will cheer me up when it comes through in the post x
  9. Hmm... Sean Bean Billy Boyd (again) Me and my Sean problem, he'll prolly be terrified if he saw me in my mini-Boromir costume lol! I'd be scared myself!
  10. I'm really getting into Star Wars Republic at the moment, I bought myself that Jango Fett graphic novel from a convention this weekend, was sealed so didn't see the art work, bit dissapointed with the brief flick through I had, maybe the story will be better, haven't read it yet. I love the CSI comics, thats just because I'm a die-hard CSI fan rather than the comics being especially good. I've been picking up a few of those older Marvel Icons mini series that were out around 2000/1, Rogue, the Thing etc, also, pretty good. I quite enjoyed the Shield comics recently. On a sort of related thread, I have my comic collection insured under a special policy as well as under my house insurance, anyone know of any insurance companies which offer policies especially for things like comics/trading cards etc? Cheers
  11. Yep Rel's pretty much there with it all, The reason some of the story parts turn up in Avengers United is because they originally were Avengers/X-Men cross over stories, and if you think thats confusing, I have parts from a cross over series with X-Force, X-Men, and a couple of other X-Men spin offs, still havent got them all lol. Theres been a nice Avengers/ Justice League of America cross over in Avengers United recently, I'm not a big fan of JLA compared to Avengers, but it was a good story line. Would also reccomend those Wolverine & Gambit comics, not bad really. As far as picking up backissues, the Nightcrawler mini series, Scarlet Witch mini series are good fun, and theres various reprints of the first 60's xmen comic floating around, its got a silvery cover with a smaller picture of the original cover on I think, shouldn't set you back more than a couple of quid I would imagine. x Rel- loved your Rogue costume btw
  12. heh, Me went as Boromir aka, Marie's scared friend at the c5 forum meet up lol. Need to do some running repairs as i actually broke one of my vambraces at Expo this weekend, /sob/. Hopefully have better chainmail and his shield finished by the next con! x
