  1. Hi there, I was wondering how I would go about organising a dealers table for a Collectormania Event? If anyone has the answer or advice on the subject then I hope we can chat. Thanks so much.
  2. It seems as though Wil Wheaton is running away in this poll. Here's hoping Showmasters can convince him to take some rescue remedy and make the flight to another show UK. Knocking him out like this might also work though.
  3. I would love to see Wil Wheaton also ! He would also be a very good talk guest. Wil could read excepts from his two books.
  4. Try telling that to the organisers of a non-Showmasters event which took place two weeks ago. It was a Trek only event and the final day was packed to the rafters. I think another show is entirely viable and I look forward to attending should it take place. Sunday was busy because of Patrick Stewart. Saturday was a lot quieter and Friday was dead. There were about 250 people there on the Saturday. It was awful. To hold a 3 day event around one guest on one day is nuts if you can't even 1/3 fill the two other days. There are only a small handful of Trek stars who will make a Trek only event viable. You're looking at Shatner, Nimoy, Stewart, Mulgrew, Farrell and possibly Bakula and Jeri Ryan ie they're either the most expensive guests or the ones who won't do events. Trek fans won't bother to turn out to see anyone else now because they've seen it all before too many times. Trek fans are loyal however I would think that events would be more popular now if all cast members were on stage together for 2 hours +. The TNG cast all together on stage would be quite an event and one that I would pay to see even if i have seen all members before. Unfortunatly it looks like Paramount won! Trek is finally dead. The new movie is the nail in the coffin!
  5. I had been hoping for someone new since Glasgow will be a new Collectormania venue. Robert Englund is a cool guest though. Thanks Showmasters.
  6. By Taxi people should allow for 5-10 mins travelling time from Airport Hotels to Braehead Arena. Taxi's should only cost between £5.00 - £7.00 maximum. A good private taxi firm is 'Glasgow Private Hire 01417743000' If folks are travelling from city centre hotels, there are buses available from Buchanan Street Bus Station or you can again take a taxi. A Taxi from Glasgow City Centre may take up to 20 mins to reach Braehead Arena depending on traffic at specific times of day. Folks should expect to pay £10.00 - £15.00 for a taxi. Again Glasgow Private Hire is an excellent company and at quite times can have a taxi with you before you have left your front door. I hope this helps as a native Glaswegian any questions can be asked whenever! I'm on here or on yahoo under the same name.
  7. Dude. Walking to Braehead from Gilmour Street? Not doable for someone in my state of health, for sure. I know how far a walk that is. I don't suggest anyone walk from Braehead to the Glasgow Airport Hotels!! The M8 traffic is very unlikely to stop or slow down for you!!!!!!!!!
  8. Oh and I also forgot 'Medium' Patricia Arquette or even Alison Dubois herself would be awesome.
  9. Braehead Arena is attached to the shopping centre. Lot's of shops and food venues! However Braehead is a very busy place normally CM will only make it worse!
  10. Anyone from Stargate or Stargate Atlantis would be great!
  11. I knew it was going on but I never got to go, Alas I was too young then. I am now old enough for all sorts of depravities so roll on August 2007!!!!!
  12. According to some posts 2007 will be the 30th Anniversary of Star Wars 'However!!!' 2007 is also the 20th Anniversary of Star Trek The Next Generation. How about trying for a Cast Reunion? I know that the full cast on stage for a talk would be amazing Cast Members I would want to see are: Patrick Stewart, Johnathan Frakes, Brent Spiner, LeVar Burton, Marina Sirtis and Gates McFadden , Wil Wheaton, Denise Corsby, John DeLancie etc etc.
  13. I have to agree! Gates talked with folks for ages and also posed for pics. A really nice lady! I would hope to see her for Collectormania Glasgow.
  14. I have travelled to London for conventions more times than I can remember but I have never had a better time than the old Glasgow conventions that have sadly been missing for the last several years. Glasgow is my home city but beyond that it is a cultural, shopping, clubbing, sci fi loving mecca!!!!!! I can guarantee that no one will go home disappointed. THIS CG1 IS GONNA BE SO COOL!!!!!!!!!
