  1. darn, no wonder I could not find it :(

alot of people I know are coming for the first time and I was trying to just refer them to the FAQ! :help:

you can't even search FAQ as it's 1 letter short of the 4 letter minimum urg :P

  2. Fear I have now, as I already have Robert Englund and Christopher Lloyd Diamond Passes, is that I am going to run into some horrendous clashes between the various guests.

It would be great if SM could give assurances of no clashing for these 'big money' passes.

since you mentioned it, thought I would link to Jason's post in the "General Chat" section :coolthumb:

    Hi everyone

I think there is a lot of info going on about these new Diamond passes and how they work and what you get, there are also several threads with different info in them, so I feel it would be good and helpful to lay out some bullet points on the passes and also go into why they work like they do and the benefits we feel they bring to you the collector.

    1

The main important thing that everyone must be aware of, each guests Diamond pass will be different. They will all offer different aspects and products that have been agreed with the guest and are never going to be the same guest to guest.

    2

Each Diamond pass will be priced differently, as each guest will have a different agreement and will cost the show a different amount.

What is offered in the pass will be different,as some guests will agree to some things and others will not agree to offer some aspects.

If there is something very unique (such as a make up shoot) the costs involved are increased (such as having to provide an approved make-up artist to be flown in from the US) and this can add 1000s to the cost of making a photo shoot happen, so it does affect Diamond pass cost.

    3

Some things that are in a guests Diamond pass are only being offered to Diamond pass holders, and cannot be bought outside of this package so it gives you something rare and unique.

    4

You can buy more that one Diamond pass for the same guest. You would only do this if you wanted, for example, an extra Robert England make-up photo shoot which is exclusive to his Diamond pass, or if there are two of you wanting to be in the same photo and extra Diamond Pass can be purchased.

    5

You can purchase a Diamond Pass for two different guests, (Robert Englund and Christopher Lloyd, for example) but there may be a clash in photo shoots, talks or some other aspect of the passes. If this happens then you are to talk to the pit bosses that look after the aspects of the pass that clash, and they will try to assist you in getting everything your pass includes. We will do everything we can in order to not clash things that are big or that are happening only once as we want you all to get what you want. You should talk to the relevant pit bosses to help you on the day, we are good at this, and rarely is there a time where a fix cannot be found to help you.

    6

If you have bought a photo op or a talk for say Christopher Lloyd and then you want to upgrade to a Christopher Lloyd Diamond pass contact the show and they will be available to help you upgrade.

    7

Your Diamond pass will give you the benefit of not needing a VQ ticket for the lines. Your number on your Dog tag will be your VQ ticket and in Robert Englund's case you can go and get his autograph on any day over the 3 days he is at the show , his Make up is only going to be there on the Sunday so that will happen once that day and again your Dog tag will act as your VQ ticket and you will be called up in batches.

    8

The money you pay for your Diamond pass is to cover the things you get included in the pass such as a seat at the talk, a photo op, a autograph, a print etc etc all the items that are listed in the shop when you bought your ticket. What it does not include is entry to the show. It does not give you any privileges to jump queues in other guests lines or get into the gold pass chill out room. The Diamond Pass is just for that guest and you will receive what is listed for that guest's Diamond pass and no more.

    9

If you want to jump queue and use the gold pass room then you will need to buy the Gold Pass as it's only this pass that gives you these privileges (a full list of these privileges is available in the online shop)

    10

You will need to buy your entry to the show, either and entry ticket that allows you to enter from 9am or a gold pass entry ticket.

You will need one of these to gain access to the show.

    11

If you miss one of your Diamond pass exclusive activities due to not being at the show on time or not getting to the right place on time we are not responsible for this and we will not be refunding parts of the Diamond pass because you could not get there. All

sales are final and as long as we provide the opportunity over the day or days that is all we can do. So please be there on time and keep an eye on when things are happening, and if you see something clashing or are in trouble and are going to miss something then ASK for help. Go to a red shirt/Pit boss and explain your issue, WE CANNOT HELP YOU AFTERWARDS we are all here to help you and we want you to get everything you are meant to.

    12

Some of the passes include an exclusive Tshirt. If your pass includes one of these T-Shirts please provide your T-Shirt size (S, M, L, XL or XXL) in the order and delivery comments box at the time of ordering. Anyone that does not include a T-Shirt size will receive a randomly sized T-Shirt from those remaining.

  3. Wow Sisterof_CMarcus that sounds rather rude!! especially as I would call myself geeky and I am a girl :poki:
and FYI, I'm not a huge fan of boxsets, unless watching WITH some one :P

I'm not sure why they made the guys pay, like I said, didn't realise!
I guess it's like to make sure they aren't "creepy" or something and are genuinely looking for someone and not just oogling the girls? especially as a lot of them had skimpy costumes on

  4. Why not just tell us now and put them on sale in 7 days?

this would be awesome because, like Sherlock pre-announcement, it would then give people a chance to see if they have the funds ready or to think if they can justify the price being asked before possibly either panic buying due the limited availability mentioned or losing out because they didn't have the chance to get funds together before it sold out B)

  5. I went sci-fi speed dating last year in the US and it was a bit crazy! :D didn't help of course that nearly every single person there was from the surrounding area oops also I didn't realise that they made the guys pay like $25 each and let the girls in for free :o only went cause I was wandering around and it happened to be on when nothing much else was happening and wanted to see what it was like

I was a little put off by all the people that were talking comics and asking me what my favourite comics were and authors and characters and a few seemed genuinely horrified that I said I don't really do comics but yet was there

always thought it would be epic to meet someone that does the shows and/or Red Carpets/Premiers as I seem to spend most of my days off crewing/attending these things  so it would be great as otherwise there is even less time to spend time with them :WINCE:
but if they weren't into premiers/theatre/stage doors/cons/shows, they should atleast understand/accept that I AM into that and it's a huge part of my life :coolthumb:

    funnily enough, still single

also, I saw the guy doing sci-fi speed dating again and just curiously enquired about him coming to a UK con, he gets paid an appearance fee of what sounded like 1000s of $ AND the $25 from each male attendee of each session AND hotel, transport etc paid I think urg! but apparently he just con-hops and does it at all the cons and it's his business

  6. could be my 1st time on the list, sweet

October this year marks 10 years of crewing for me so all is grand

did you guys accidently miss photo coordinators off the list though? :D

for those of you saying about lots of titles, some of those belong to the people who work full time for SM and ME B)

  7. there is a Boots near EC tube on the high st end but I am not sure they print images 8x10 there is also Snappy Snaps (I think?) perhaps it is best to Google the shop pages and then click the "find nearest branch" option? if you want 8x10 for £3 definately the Boots near Bond St tube does it. Also Snappy Snaps will print at that size but they charge about £10 for the same thing

  8. I crewed on the sales desk at Collectormania on Saturday and can confirm there is a big effort made to call down the line to get people who were due shortly at a photo shoot at the front :coolthumb:

my recommendation for every is to buy photo shoots online before the con, leaving it until late if you think you may want addiotional photo shoots and want to avoid paying several postage charges (obviously don't do this if you are worried about a photo shoot selling out ^_^)

it is hard to have photo sales at the photo shoot as there are a limited number of card machines and up to 4 photo shoots! also there would then need to be extra crew to deal with sales and extra security for the payment so it may be a lot less feasable than it initially seems to be B)
