  1. I probably know the answer to this already. I am one of the later groups for Rupert's photo on Sunday and it occurs after I have to leave. Is there any chance at all to go to the earlier session, or will I (as I fear) just have to miss out?

  2. I finally called the hotel to add the third night of the con to my booking, but no luck - bookings can't be amended in any way, even this, so I couldn't add the Sunday night, and if I want to book it separately I can't get the discount because that only applies to a 2-night minimum stay, and even if I do book it and pay more, they can't guarantee I won't have to move rooms, which would be impossible to do during the day while I'm at the con. Worth knowing if your plans expand in the run up.

I had to speak to reservations in America rather than the hotel itself so they didn't know about parking. When I have time I will see if I can get through to the hotel directly to get an answer about reserving spaces.

Oh, that's a shame. I was thinking about trying to save money and cancelling one night, Good to know that's not possible.

And: I haven't looked into the parking much yet, but I think just turning up is most likely. I have to call them to add a third night to my stay, so I will ask then and can report back here for others of you who will be driving.

All I saw on the site was that you can't get the residents rate for the day you check out, so if like me you are currently checking out Sunday morning it'll be the more expensive rate for parking there that day.

I am not sure if it's changed but it used to be that parking charges were from 1pm to 1pm (irrespective of whether you arrived later) and they charged a set amount if leaving after 1pm and up to 4pm and then another amount after that. I can't remember what it was (but slightly less than having to pay a full non resident charge for 24 hours). I have to say that I find their charges exorbitant and off putting, but I don't think that the local alternatives are any better :(

I've Just had a look at the Platinum pass details and I am a little confused. One of the points says that you get a standard photo with each attending guest but a further point says that you get priority in purchasing tickets for Martin and Benedict. Does this apply to on set photo shoots only or is this for all photo shoots.

I think by the wording it should cover set shoots as well as it just says 'photo sessions' not 'standard photo's'. The Platinum package does include standard photo's and Ben and Martin will be included in that but some do like to buy additional standard photo's as well so some platinum holders may use the priority access to ensure they get them.

So just to clarify IF they attend then Benedict and/or Martin's photos are included in the platinum ticket? I wasn't sure given the wording either and the mention of priority purchases for those and assumed that meant they weren't.

I've asked for confirmation. The way I am reading it they are not included, but this is not official confirmation.

Thanks. It will be good to know one way or another

  6. I am sure it will be a huge success. Looking at the proposed rough dates, and the fact I've spent the money I set aside for this, I don't think I will be able to go... but until they make the official announcemnt with all the details I am not saying a definite no.

  7. I have kind of written off this event as well. I am sure that Showmasters want to put it on, and I am sure they are woking hard to try and do so, but I think the busy schedules of the actors involved will mean that it's just not possible to find a suitable time for it to happen.

I am now planning to spend my convention money elsewhere.

  8. they posted this on Facebook, which is not much of an update but suggests they've not given up yet.

we still have planes in play, we do want to put an event on this year, we are still talking to the agents and guests to see when is the best time for them to make this happen, as soon as we have something locked in we will inform you all, we want this to happen just like everyone here, talk soon jason

  9. True, the timing of the announcement did come across as petty, all the more so as they had no concrete plans at that point and are still trying to get them sorted. I do realise that trying to get a suitable weekend and work it around very busy actor's schedules is tough, but reallly it would have been better if nothing had been announced, or if they had not promised weekly updates when they've been too busy (or just not remembered) to give them.

I do hope that the event happens, but given the timescale and the fact that the vaguely proposed time (feb/march/april) is getting closer and closer, I am no longer sure I'd be able to go.

  10. They have been busy and I have no doubt that if there was news they'd be on here to post it. So no update clearly means no news to report... However having promised a weekly update, even if there was nothing to say, and to have heard nothing for 4 weeks is, to put it mildly, frustrating.

  11. Don't worry, I can see from the list of events they are busy with loads going on. It was probably a bit optomistic of him to promise to update every weeks (even if just to say no update this week) if he wasn't going to be able to.
