  1. A bit late notice for those of us who have booked rooms for the Friday on the basis of Friday being day 1. Poor form, following on from the farce of the Olympia cancellation earlier this year. Hardly living up to the boast that 2011 would be bigger and better than 2010.....
  2. Excellent announcement. A versatile character actor and so good in Being Human and Confetti.
  3. Jim Dale, Alun Armstrong, Derek Jacobi and Bernard Cribbins, please!
  4. Thanks to all at SM for a great 2010. You're still the best at what you do. Keep bringing the guests and I'll keep supporting you through 2011.
  5. I was at the auction on both days and have to say the items sold on Saturday were pretty poor overall, but on Sunday they seemed better. However, the guy who started the auction on Sunday was terrible. He didn't seem to understand the "auction" concept of bidding etc and showed a poor attitude to the whole thing. The second guy who took over handled things much better but was still being hampered by the original "auctioneer". In the end I just wandered off because it was a bit of a farce. Shame really because it has the potential to be good fun and a chance to buy some unusual items.
  6. Loved series 1 but thought the second was a huge let down. Nevertheless I'd love to meet any of the main cast.
  7. I met him last time but would love to catch up with him again. Very nice man - and a good guest.
  8. Jim Dale, Bernard Cribbins and /or Barbara Windsor would be great for us Carry-On fans. Plus any other cast members such as Julian Holloway or Richard O'Callaghan please.
  9. "Tombstone" would be excellent (and you've already announced 2 stars for the Olympia show....)
  10. I was there on Sunday and have to admit I was very disappointed neither Linda nor Charlene were allowing photos at the table. Obviously I do not know the reason for this decision, but if it was to try to encourage more people to attend the photo shoots then I think Tanya Roberts had the right idea. She happily posed for a photo at the table (even came round the other side and put her arm round me). But she then advised me there was the option of a photo shoot later which she stated would be far more professional. If I hadn't had to leave shortly after I would certainly have been tempted. But that kind of positive advertising without stopping me get my picture at the time I thought was excellent. As it was my phto turned out really well anyway so I was more than pleased.
  11. Excellent guest. I've been a fan for years, he was brilliant in A Bridge Too Far. Thanks SM.
  12. Bernard Cribbins, June Whitfield and Phil Davis. All have appeared in Doctor Who since their last appearance at an SM event and I'm sure would be very poular.
  13. Excellent news. One of the few footie players I would definitely be interested to meet. A real legend on and off the pitch.
  14. Excellent announcement. Definitely makes the journey worthwhile now.
  15. I'm very pleased to say that all the guests I met were terrific. Lenora Crichlow was just wonerful, a smile to brighten any day and gave me a big "high five" which I certainly didn't expect. Russell Tovey was very friendly, quick with a handshake and a smile and more than happy to pose for a photo - top guest. Simon Dutton and Julian Glover were both absolute gentlemen and the "Vampire Girls" were delightful (especially Gabriella). Paul Kasey chatted for ages about the various roles he's played in Doctor Who and his enthusiasm for the show really shone through. Sean Pertwee was great, very down to earth and came across as a top bloke. On Sunday Lis Sladen and Sean Young (who seemed very taken with my 5 monthold son) were both very classy and Nia Roberts was great to talk to in only her first con. The memory of the day though was meeting Kristanna Loken - was in two minds but decided to go for it. Am so glad I did, she was so friendly and a smile to die for. All in all a grand weekend!
  16. Russell and Lenora managed to drag themselves in on time....
  17. He may have been adorable but he was very late! He did not start signing until after mid-day. As a result I for one did not have time to meet him despite being in the queue before the show opened and getting a low number virtual queue ticket. Major disappointment.
  18. Had a good morning and all the guests I met were a real pleasure. However, I was hugley disappointed that Aidan Turner did not start signng until 12.15. I had to go to a wedding this afternoon so had to leave at 12.30 so even having got there early enough to get a low VT number I had to miss out. Having got Lenora and Russell on my cast shot earlier there is now a conspicuous gap where the third signature should be. As the other Being Human guests were both on time and an absolute delight to meet I have to say Aidan turning up so late left a big blemish on my day.
  19. Excellent news. Thanks SM - keep the series 5 guest coming!
  20. Cool - keep these Vampires of Venice guests coming! Thanks SM.
