  1. Couldn't agree more Elaine. For all those who haven't met Teryl yet - you don't know what you are missing Showmasters, please, please, please bring her to a future event.
  2. As for parents who expect to get these autographs DONT set your children up for it, that is cruel, when you say you will meet so and so, it's not there fault you got there late/didnt find the right q etc, just dont do it, you are to blame not the event staff. As a parent of a disappointed child who came away from C3 without Billy's autograph - we made a point of setting off earlier on Sunday morning for C4. We knew we would arrive at 9 a.m., one WHOLE hour before the event was to open. Yes I knew it was going to be a popular event and the crowds would be huge, but I DID NOT SET him up for it. I had already said he may not get all of the hobbits signatures, perhaps we would just have to be happy with one of them. Then to find out all the ticket had gone after queuing for 50 minutes in Elijah's queue was beyond a joke. For all of those idiots who suggest sleeping outside, no parent in their right mind would do that with children. No star is worth seeing that much. As an adult, I can accept when you don't always get what you want out of life, for a child that concept is still a little hard to understand. He is still dreadfully upset, not helped by the fact that after a long drive home he found out his pet had died whilst we were at C4. And before people jump on the bandwaggon and respond to this, let me make it clear I do not blame Showmasters for the death of his hamster, I'm just annoyed by the lack of organisation on the day. Hopefully, Showmasters will read the boards later in the week when they have a chance and will take the constructive critisism along with the obvious praises they are receiving from those lucky enough to have got what they wanted.
  3. I THOUGHT I'D TRANSFER MY THOUGHTS FROM ONE POSTING TO ANOTHER, AS THIS THREAD SEEMS TO BE THE ONE THAT MOST PEOPLE WILL BE READING. I UNDERSTAND THE COMMENTS FROM THE MUM OF ONE OF THE ORGANISERS, BUT ALSO AS A MUM SHE SHOULD FULLY UNDERSTAND THE BITTER DISAPPOINTMENT OF ALL OF THE KIDS WHO MISSED OUT THIS TIME. After coming away from C3 bitterly disappointed because my young son couldn't get a ticket for Billy Boyd, we decided this time we would set off earlier. Having driven for over 2 hours and arriving at 9 a.m. - you can imagine how disappointed he was when (1) we couldn't even get a ticket for Elijah (after wasting 50 minutes in his queue, only to get to the front and be told they weren't issuing anymore) (2) only getting a standby ticket for Sean, when we weren't even told it was a standby ticket until after 1 p.m. (3) only managing to get one in the 800's for Dom, then being told there was little chance of getting his autograph as well. And then, to top it all, after a long drive home - we find his hamster had died! All in all, a pretty disasterous day. How I am ever going to make it up to him I don't know! From a disgruntled parent who is in two minds whether to attend C5.
  4. Thanks for that Shaz, although at the moment - in his opinion - this was the worst day of his life!

  6. I'm in total agreement with Cat-b - I'd love another Stargate guest.
  7. Come on Showmasters - you'd make this bunch of 'gaters' very happy if you could give us another stargate guest
  8. If Amanda is not possible for C4, try and get her for C5, pleaseeeeee
  9. What with the announcements due later about the Hobbits - perhaps Showmasters can let us know whether or not they had the opportunity to speak to Amanda at last week's Comic Con re the possibility of doing a future Collectormania event. Another main cast member or recurring character announced for C4 would be greatly appreciated
  10. Another Stargate actor/actress would be superb - preferably a regular or recurring character. Still keeping everything crossed for Amanda.
  11. and a great site it is too!
  12. Thomas - everyone is entitled to their opinion and has favourite films/tv programmes that they watch. This thread was started because Stargate SG1 is one of our favourite shows and Amanda is one of our favourite actresses. She is, in MY OPINION, one of the most genuine actresses I've met to date and she WOULD make a superb guest. As I said earlier, anyone meeting her who doesn't watch the show would be very quickly converted!
  13. Amanda Tapping and Teryl Rothery from Stargate would make a great double team for C4.
