Thanks for the replies, guys. I'll wait until the end of the week to allow the dust to settle from Sheffield and then try the phone again; emailing if there's no response.

I've emailed Showmasters (shop@showmastersevents.com) with a request for a refund (on the 5th August) and to date I've received no reply (or refund) other than the automated "Thank you for your email. We aim to respond to your query within 5 working days. " It's unclear what the default action of SM will be regarding refunds since the deadline is approaching and I wonder if anyone else has managed to obtain any news regarding refunds or otherwise. I did attempt to telephone them this morning, but the phone number just rang out. Thank you.

I've just attended my first Comic Con (London 2018) and loved it. Learned a lot about preparedness and next time I'll bring a foldable seat - my feet were killing me 2 days after the event, and I walk 10-15 miles a day in my job so I'm used to walking!
