Well, relating to Doctor Who, there was an unnamed exhibition/museum thingy until a few months ago, which was full of now unused Doctor Who sets & props that SM might hire for LFCC? Considering the high caliber Doctor Who guests we have this year, it’d be the cherry on top, just saying I’ve seen many different TARDIS consoles and boxes, as well as the Mr Smith console and Torchwood’s Hub Door, at several events before. I hope they haven’t permanently dismantled any of them even though those series are over, but maybe bringing them to this Con would be a way to put them to good use once more

Sarah Jane’s Mr Smith, pretty please <3

Personally I’m really looking forward to the TARDIS green screen set. I’d be brilliant if we got a New Who TARDIS console & background this year, I hope the TARDIS type is confirmed soon. The chance to have a picture also with other Doctor Who props, sets, and monsters would be an amazing bonus. I’d be a dream if they had Daleks, Cybermen, and other aliens. In the past I’ve had my pic taken on the first Matt Smith’s TARDIS set and on Clara’s living room set, and it’s ever so cool!

Since you were discussing the limited prints included in Diamond Passes, and I was also thinking that they might be a more “exclusive” option to get signed, can I ask you a few additional questions? How big are the prints generally? I can’t really tell from the pics, are those A4, A3 or other? What are they made of, are they glossy posters, cardboards, or does it change from event to event?

O M G same here, again As you can tell from my profile pic, David Tennant is still and always my favourite actor, and Ten was my first Doctor so he’s very special to me. But Twelve is like my spirit animal, I relate to his character so much and his story arch means so much to me, he immediately became “my” Doctor to a whole different level! And Peter is such an inspiration both on and off screen as well

That’s reassuring to hear because I do admit oftentimes I’ve avoided picking the picture I liked the most from the table only because it was too dark to allow a black/blue signature, so if nowadays silver/gold is a safe possibility I have more choices I’ve always heard opposing opinions on silver/gold sharpies so I could never tell if they were actually problematic or it was just me. I had a bad experience with a couple of smeared silver autos from like 5 years ago or so, they’re not completely ruined but it’s still frustrating. I always put my signed pictures directly in a rigid display book so they are safe inside my bag and don’t get bent as you said (that’s what I meant, I wouldn’t put them straight in the bag with no protection, omg the very though gives me shivers ) But that time I probably put the autos in the plastic sleeves a little too soon and they got stuck to the sleeve I thought I had waited long enough but apparently it wasn’t, so I’ve tried to avoid those sharpie colours since because I couldn’t always tell if they were actually dry or not... As I said I usually use display books & sleeves to keep my autos safe at events, but the plastic box you linked seems a way better solution actually! That way the signature doesn’t touch the plastic sleeve too soon and has more room to dry. It would probably take up more space in my bag than a display book, but I’ll definitely consider this option. I’ll try to find a similar case at some local shop here so I can have a proper look at it in person before choosing, but it’s a brilliant advice, thank you very much!

That whole photo shoot of Peter is priceless, its hard to choose the best pic, although I’m biased for the shush finger photo - I’m sure you know which one I’m referring to I tend to go for light background pictures for my autographs, it’s a quirk of mine and it makes me feel less stressed about how to keep them in good quality especially on the day, since a couple of silver/gold signatures smeared in my bag in the past. But I agree the best part is meeting him in person and have the chance to say a few words
-
Oh they’re some of my favourite Doctor Who quotes as well and all such inspirational speeches - especially the Lasagna one The Twelfth Doctor has been the absolute best
-
The Capaldi pictures on the Pre Order website are all sooo cool, I hope they have them on the desk! My favourite is the sunglasses one but it’s a little too dark, I usually choose pictures with a lighter background (like the Big Ben ones) so they can be signed with a black/blue pen... I’m really wary of silver and gold sharpies and their durability, its probably just a myth but I guess I’m not the only one And hopefully they’ll have more pictures with a light background on the day so we get even more choice for our autos!

Just checking - I have the Peter Capaldi Diamond Pass and I also bought an additional photo with Peter on a different day (I’ve selected Saturday for the Diamond Pass included photo, then bought another one for Sunday) because since I’m there both days anyway I’d like to have my pictures in two different outfits, and also meet him in person a little longer both days. Can I take the photos on different days as planned, is that all right? Taking multiple photos at the same time is just an option, not compulsory, right?

@LisaCarter2016 @R4wly97 This is my first LFCC as well - hopefully the first of many! And I’m sure hundreds of newbies will join us in the coming months, so we’re in great company

Are there any disruptions this year? (Bike race.etc)

I understand having anxiety, I experience it myself, and I often avoided public transports for the same reasons, but eventually realized it was counterproductive because they do make your life so much easier especially in London. I suggest you give the tube a try if you feel like there’s any chance you could handle the experience. If it’s of any help, I can assure you it’s very easy to navigate even for foreigners like me, there are maps everywhere and plenty of staff to ask directions to at the platforms - especially on busy days. Your journey will definitely be quicker and more stress-free. Unless you have some specific triggers, in which case ignore my post, sorry for bothering you, and good luck anyway -
(Just for fun) Dream guest that has passed away
Nerd Who replied to StevenHall's topic in General chat
Definitely John Hurt I have a couple of autographs of his that he kindly sent me via fanmail and I cherish them, but I’m so sad I didn’t have the chance to actually meet him in person, such a legend... Also Elisabeth Sladen, another great actress who I’d always dreamt of meeting but passed away too soon. And I obviously agree on Alan Rickman. (Nice thread idea btw, although a bit bittersweet.) -

Latest Guest Announcement - PETER CAPALDI
Nerd Who replied to showmasters's topic in London Film & Comic Con 2018
It’s my first time at LFCC as well, but it’s not my first ever big comic con, so from my experience we can expect loads of people, overcrowded areas, but lots of fun as well - which is the most important part! The Diamon Pass will help reduce queuing time a bit and give you more time to organize the activities you want to attend, as well as being less stressed out about getting the autograph you want which is already secured. I think we should be ready to stand in queues and get used to aching feet (maybe I’ll excercise a bit in the meantime to be fit for the Con ), bring envelopes, sleeves or boxes to keep autos and photos safe during the day, be positive towards guests and fans even if there are minor delays - and mostly just enjoy the moment really. Looking forward to hearing some of the veterans’ tips for us LFCC newbies- 290 replies

I’ve seen the announcement on Twitter, I expected it but not so soon! I’ll try to get this ASAP (my credit card is crying). I’m a bit worried by the “make sure you're quick as these will sell out fast!” line on the announcement post, hope I manage to buy one before they sell out! Do you guys think they will last for a couple of days based on your experience or I have to be quicker than that if I want one?- 290 replies

"A big delicious guest announcement" - 7 PM on 27/2!
Nerd Who replied to Queen_Sindel's topic in London Film & Comic Con 2018
Maybe Jenna Coleman??? She made not-so-much-delicious soufflés as Clara Oswald... (Okay no actual clues point in that direction, it’s just wishful thinking for another Doctor Who guest ) -
Realistic guest suggestions: David Bradley (it would be a great double photo op with Peter Capaldi!) Matt Lucas (to go alongside Capaldi and Pearl Mackie!) Steven Moffat (to say a proper goodbye before next Doctor Who series begins) Billie Piper Freema Agyeman Unrealistic guest suggestions: Jenna Coleman David Tennant Christpher Eccleston Chris Chibnall Jodie Whittaker (lol)

Now that Peter Capaldi has been announced as a guest, a 12th Doctor & Clara Oswald double photo would be a dream come true! Please make it happen! I've already met Jenna and she's adorable

Bought the Peter Capaldi Diamond Pass a couple of days ago (along with Pearl Mackie's) and I've just been approved to the forum. LFCC 2018 will be my first Showmasters Convention and I'm so hyped! I'm beyond happy I'll have a second chance to meet him this July at LFCC 2018! My favourite Doctor!- 290 replies
