Big announcement for Spring at 7pm Wednesday 14th
Ravogd replied to Raylenth's topic in London Film & Comic Con 2019
The question is will they be big enough to tempt you over next year? -
You really seem to have a lot of bad luck with other patrons at events. That’s a truly horrible story and I feel so bad for you and your sis in law. I’d personally have contacted the Police in that instance. That’s proper assault. Despicable behaviour. Imagine wanting to take your kids to see the magical tales of Disney and then behaving like that towards others and setting that example. Abhorrent.

That’s a shame that only one disabled toilet was available in the hall. For every event we’ve been at there it’s usually 2. There are however 4 disabled toilets very close to the hall in the Piazza. My partner has used these many times without any issue and finds the facilities better than at a lot of other venues.

Usually that’s because the input sensor after the paper leaves the tray has broken off or is stuck down with a small amount of debris. It can also be the exit sensor, most likely the one in the fuser unit. It’s also possible the pickup rollers are dirty and they are just slipping instead of gripping the paper. Just check for marks on the paper where they engage. Easily cleaned or replaced. Happy to be of assistance.

LATEST GUEST ANNOUNCEMENT - CHRISTOPHER LAMBERT
Ravogd replied to showmasters's topic in Film & Comic Con Glasgow 2019
They are not normally used at Glasgow because the queues rarely justify it but they have been used in the past. James Marsters, Peter Mahew and Sean Austin spring to mind. -
LATEST GUEST ANNOUNCEMENT - CHRISTOPHER LAMBERT

Yes you will get to join the autograph queue first thing and at any time during the day without a VQ. Diamonds also go first at the photoshoot (it should be noted that you only get the standard shoot NOT the green screen shoot with a diamond, this is not upgradeable) so yes if you want green screen you will need to fork out another £40. A pic at the table is unlikely given how big a guest he is and how popular he will be. He will most likely be too busy to do any but you never know until the day. I'll be astonished if there isn't a no photos sign up though. -
double post

He was definitely on VQ's on Saturday and got to them quite early on Saturday (remember VQ's can go on and off depending on when DP's turn up). I went late morning and was able to join a queue of about 15 people (we were just walking past and noticed this, we hadn't even targeted him specifically). I had DP so would have been allowed to join anyway but the guy in front of me was VQ and he was number fifty-something. No idea what the final number was though.

Thanks for confirming. -
Ah ok got you though you had that covered when you said his time was limited.
-
Bernard didn’t arrive late he was there from 12-4 as advertised.

I sympathise. I get those voices a couple of times a week. High pitched. Whiny. I've learned to drown those voices out. Either that or fill them full of sugar and drop them back at their parents.

His tickets have been removed from Eventbrite too so I'm guessing he has cancelled after all. -

LATEST GUEST ANNOUNCEMENT - CHRISTOPHER LAMBERT

It’s usually about a week before. It’ll depend on how confident they are of last minute additions. Sheffield is this weekend and it was announced Monday -
I am Melody.

My refund has come through. It was such an enjoyable experience I’d like to do it again. Who do I email to get another one?

I wasn’t talking about whether TBBT was good or not, I actually quite enjoy mindless comedies they are perfectly acceptable shows. I was speaking purely about the point you raised in your initial post (and the title) about characters. The characters in TBBT are abysmal and not thought through properly (hence them chopping and changing whenever it suits) and that’s fine for that show. I was meaning you can’t decry the blandness of characters in tv shows then site them as examples of good ones, it just can’t be done. My 2 examples of Breaking Bad and Mad Men were again not about how good or bad those shows were but how good the characters were in them. Mad Men I didn’t like that much to be honest but the characters were so well planned and had so much depth and realism it was worth watching for that alone. Mad Men is the ultimate example of what they call “character drama” as IMO virtually nothing happens in the show, the plots and storylines are methodical and uninteresting but how the characters react to them and to each other is a masterclass of character writing and development.

For purely selfish reasons (complete the signatures on my in make up photoshoot with Aaron Eisenberg and Armin Schimmerman) can Max Grodenchik be asked back please

LFCC 2019 - An appreciation.
Ravogd replied to Peter Capaldi Fan's topic in London Film & Comic Con 2019
Sometime too literally nothing can be done. On the Saturday the chaos of Ian Somerhalders overrun and the moving of Mamoa meant huge delays at areas C/B. There was then also a huge delay at H for Robert Carlyle at the same time. People were screaming and demanding answers but what can they advise? They had literally no idea when shoots would happen and each area had the equivalent of 3 photo shoots worth of people round it all trying to speak to blue/red shirts. An absolute impossibility. Almost everyone had some sort of clash. They couldn’t let everyone in just do the best they could in difficult circumstances. I think they did very well indeed getting all the shoots completed. -
Yup I was right with you right up until TBBT as well. I thought you were going to quote some of the best character driven dramas of recent times like Breaking Bad or Mad Men but that show? Every character is a 2 dimensional walking cliche and stereotype who’s character changes radically at the drop of a hat in order to suit “storyline”. A very bad example.
