  1. Awesome photos there and music selection. Love it when someone other than myself has the eye/ear to swap images on beat. Only thing I might say is why are Marina and Gates in the DS9 section(?), but otherwise fantastic work there! Thanks Rob! Appreciate it. You got fantastic photos, too (yet again). Indeed, think you got pics with everyone, then got everyone to sign them for you! That lot must've cost a bomb — or a photon torpedo. Regarding music selection, and point about Gates/Marina.... I really just used the music as a background (with a few choice sound effects), and didn't get too precious about which pic should be associated with what piece. Moreover, it took longer than expected, as the music demands a certain flow. Try to cram too many pics into one section and it looks a bit forced (or so it seemed to me). Would defo go to another such event, but only to pursue pics I don't already have. It's an expensive game, this! :)
  2. Hi guys. I attended for one day (Sunday) and managed to cram-in every photo session I wanted.... just! It was my first such event. My mind was (**is**) well and truly blown. Below is the link to my photos on YouTube. The video came out pretty epic, I have to say! For me, undoubtedly, the highlight of the day was meeting ALICE KRIGE. Yes, I would rate her higher than all the other guests. As my favourite Star Trek villain, I was looking forward to getting a photo with her. However, three of my sessions clashed, and I was gutted to find that I'd just missed her. Being on crutches doesn't help either, when you're rushing around in a panic. I informed the staff. Best they could offer was a complimentary autograph from Alice later that day. I took it, even though autographs are not really my thing. For me, it was all about the photos. So, when it came my turn to ask Alice for an autograph, I cheekily asked if she'd mind standing with me for a selfie. But when she learned that I'd missed out on a proper shoot, she summoned a member of the crew, there and then, and asked that a private session be arranged at the end! Yes, to my utter shock and surprise, Alice Krige insisted on meeting me afterwards to get that photo I so wanted. She even signed it for me! For that act of kindness, she's earned a special place in my heart. I'll happily tell this story to any new Trekkie I meet! Best wishes, all. Hope the day went as well for you as it did for me. - Richard Murtagh ("Ensign Dickie")
  3. I've notice that you're a regular at these events, and this forum. Love your pic with Seven-of-Nine! So, are you saying that **YOU** have downloaded a one-to-one bridge shot before? It's just that, the link you provided shows no evidence of such a download being possible (as I queried in my initial post). ps.... the organisers will neither confirm nor deny. Indeed, an event rep on the Facebook page went so far as to say that digital downloads will not be available at all, since they're not specifically advertised online (which I'm sure is incorrect). On the other hand, an event rep replied to me by e-mail, seeming to imply the answer was yes, but pasting the same link that you just did). Wouldn't exactly call myself a regular, 2014 was my first convention in 13 years!! However I did download my picture with Miss Ryan (which yes, I am still a little bit in love with even 2 years later, so many have noticed the sexual tension between us in the shot - clearly why she replied to my tweet after the event too!) and Mr Shatner as my printer scanner was on its last legs. These were the only photoshoots that I had last time, I didn't get one on the bridge. If you look at all of the galleries you'll see the full range available to download. In terms of the discussions you've had elsewhere and whether there will or won't be downloadable photos again this time, I cannot say for certain there definitely will be. I hope there will be the option and if it is indeed so then that will be the place to get them from. LOL Rob!!! .... Yes, indeed. Tension there in abundance. She replied to my tweet the other day, too. Sadly, Jeri will not be in attendance this year. So, could say I've had it from the horse's mouth, but no way would I compare that fine lady to a horse! Thanks for the reply. I'll be there on Sunday 9th. Can't miss me.... dashing chap with crutches and one leg, donning a Science Officer's uniform! Will watch out for you too. This'll be my first. Star Trek meant so much to me as a lad growing up in hospital. Can't believe I haven't done this sooner.... and so gutted when I see what I've missed in previous years. Your "Seven" pic being a prime example! Can't miss my big blue wheelchair either, if you see a PA running about 10 metres behind struggling to keep up you'll have spotted me! Season 4 of Voyager and the final season of DS9 got me through a year in hospital too, so I know exactly how that feels. She will be here again, I had to wait 13 years for that picture but it was bloody worth it! I was a "Next Gen" lad (and Original Series). I liked DS9 and Voyager, but these didn't touch my two favs at that time in my life (90s). I'm finding that I appreciate the latter two shows more now that I'm rediscovering the love after a break. I'm yet to watch a single episode of Enterprise, if you can believe it. I recall thinking at the time it came out.... "Enterprise B?! Why take the audience where it's already been before?" But I'll give that a try soon. I'd still get a photo with Scott Bakula, but more for Quantum Leap than Trek.

  5. Of course, Raylenth. Gosh, seems like we're debating for the sake of debating! :) .... With conflicting information given to me by two event reps, I've turned to fellow fans (and previous convention goers) to see if anyone can provide, by way of anecdotal evidence, an account of downloading a digital pic: (1) of them; (2) taken on the bridge; (3) alongside a cast member. Yes, I could take the "what-will-be-will-be" attitude. Or, alternatively, I can attempt to satisfy my curiosity by turning to others in the know. So far, nobody here is able to provide an answer to my initial query. My hope is that the next visitor to the forum will be in a position to do so. I think that's covered all the angles. If you spot any more assumptions on my part that need clarifying and/or correcting, I'll be happy to oblige. Best wishes.
  6. Sure. But if someone has downloaded such a photo BEFORE, in the past, then that basically takes care of my query. Thanks.

  8. I've seen many examples of fans pictured with guests against a PLAIN background. And I've seen examples of fans pictured on the bridge with the entire Enterprise-D crew. However, I'm yet to find a single example of any fan pictured on the bridge with just one other actor. So, my question.... Will it be possible to download my individual bridge shots with Shatner and Takai? And how about the shot with Chris Lloyd on a Klingon Bird of Prey set? Or is it only possible to download pics taken against a plain background? I'm hoping to feature the bridge shots on my astronomy website, and would rather not have to scan print-outs. Depending on answers given, I may order some more bridge shots. Any input welcome and appreciated. Live Long and Prosper! - Richard
