  1. Not taking part in the community masquerade. Thing is I really had nothing other than pose as it's a bit difficult with some characters to do much if it's you alone especially when I could do some nice stage combat given a partner.
  2. My friend and I saw you and did a double take. We commented that we kinda wanted to ask you if you were actually hurt. Amazing job! Haha it made my early tube journey quite interesting that's for sure, people did ask if I was ok! Thankfully I don't worry about people staring at me but as I wasn't sure on how pushed for time I'd be between getting through the queue and for meeting my first photoshoot, I had to put my face on before I left in the morning!
  3. Finally caught up with my friend who I got my diamond pass print autographed for her with her name on it. She is over the moon with it, a little jealous of course but it was just nice to see her happy. :)
  4. Haha I was the same having an early night and fretting over if I'd do a good job on my make-up the next morning at such and early hour. The next was worrying about reactions on the train as I made my way there!
  5. I can't comment as I wasn't at last years but my friends who were said it was easier. 40% more floor space is almost half of what they had the year before so that may have been one reason to making it seem quiet as well as all the guests and the things to do with them being held in the same areas; people just gather there. Friday was quiet but it's a work day and Saturday was busy enough but not as bad as I had feared. That is a good thing I have to add as it's tough enough being in costume with a friend who needs to be almost forcibly told that you need a break for food/water/comfort and tends to forget/get distracted by stalls when they said they'd take a break. It's hard to say as there are all manner of reasons and factors into why it seemed quiet.
  6. Depends. There's Burning Skies Cosplay on Facebook which is predominantly Dr Who that a lot of people who were at LFCC this weekend are part of. They do welcome other cosplayers like me so they're quite good about that and it is fun mashing the different things up a bit. I did a Tardis/Dr Who/Captain America photo with one of my friends through that! https://www.facebook.com/groups/burningskiescosplay/ There is also Cosplayers Assemble! that a mate of mine maintains; it's pretty much for everybody and he was there as a Walking Dead character and Dr Who. https://www.facebook.com/groups/481612092040590/ Both are really friendly and welcoming. :)
  7. I usually get frames for my favourite of the photos I get of me in cosplay from the photoshoot stand and then put the rest in an album. My guest ones I might frame differently, not sure how but I'll think of something to make them a bit more special. I can't wait to hand over my Jeremy Renner autograph I got my friend as she was so excited when I sent her a photo of the print with her name on it from him!
  8. There were some great cosplays on both the days I went, I have photos in the cosplay photos thread from Friday. Saturday was a really good day as there were so many people there and I got some great comments on my Punisher cosplay (some people found my make-up very, very believable!) so it was all worth getting up at 5am to get ready and travel in for being there at the start.
  9. I can understand completely. My toy rifle was checked on Saturday, bar the orange end it does look very convincing, and get why the security for guests had a look at it. There are some disturbed people out there who will do some crazy things at events where celebrities attend so it is necessary for their safety and the people like us who go.
  10. I only met Jeremy Renner and Elden Henson but that was enough as I did spend a fair bit of running about as my friends were after different guests so we were always in different places from each other. That and I wasn't always so grim looking in my Punisher costume!
  11. I didn't get many on Friday and none on Saturday however I did get a few so thought it's good to share. I've got my cosplay photoshoot ones from the Saturday just a pity they are photos of photos here. Have them here so happy for people to save them or tag themselves. https://www.facebook.com/NorthernLightsCosplay/photos/?tab=album&album_id=505264483000003
  12. It was nice and cool for the most of it; some places did get warm like the signing area on both days but it was only a problem on Saturday as I was in all black and a long leather coat as The Punisher! Air con - it was on and working! Space - I was worried it would be really cramped. It only got that way in the signing area. Queuing - never been so early to an event like this but it all went really well and I was in quickly. Stalls - I thought there was not a bad mixture and mostly ended up with jewellery! Photos - had a great experience with all of my photo shoots. I had a retake of my one with Jeremy Renner as it printed off with lines on it, the guests were great and I loved my cosplay photos from the photo shoot. I ended up buying 4 prints as they were so good and it's not always easy to find photos other visitors take of you on the day unless you know them or they have a card.
  13. That's a pity as my first photo with Jeremy Renner printed with lines across one side of it and I was offered a reshoot which I took. For some of the guests you may never have the chance again so it's a shame that consideration wasn't given at some of the shoots.
  14. He was really nice and I had to laugh a little at him struggling a bit with the jet lag, I know how horrible that can be, but he didn't let that diminish the day. Pleased with my photo, had to get a second go as the first had lines running across it as it printed off. I got my print signed for a friend who is a massive fan but couldn't make it herself and he thought it was a lovely gesture; it would have been nice to explain a little about her in particular but appreciate the time constraints. Can't wait to hand over the print as excited doesn't begin to explain the reaction I got when I sent a photo of it with her name on it!
  15. Ok not able to make it. Suffering quite a bit from today so had to call it quits.
  16. On my way! One person already asked if I was ok because of my make-up and had to reassure them it was only make-up for comicon! At least somebody checked though. :)
  17. Haha saw my old post. Just didn't get the time to finish everything for Winter Soldier but going as The Punisher instead.
  18. I'll do a mass upload of photos on Sunday as I have tomorrow to get ready for and it's a really early start for me to get ready.
  19. I pretty much go for the cosplay side of it. Changed my mind a few times and decided I'd go as female Punisher and all the better since I have a photo shoot with Elden Henson. My make-up is going to take a while but I have had fun trying to scare the family back home with my trial runs of it!
  20. I have a longer journey this time from February and unfortunately I'm alone as my friends are arriving later and live in a different part of London. Tbh I don't care although as I will be with a face of make-up bruises, fake cuts with fake blood I may get some startled looks! It's not something I can easily apply in the toilets at the venue either as it takes a bit of time and care despite the end result!
  21. Been ages since I was here! I'm still going, I'll be in costume though as I have about an hour on the tubes (a convoluted journey at that coming from Watford!) to get back so providing I'm still standing (I have a very early start to get to Olympia, do my hair and make-up for the costume) I'll be there in my Punisher costume! Be good fun as I've been on call this week so think I have earned a little drink or two!
  22. It was really good but Winter Soldier still was my favourite of the three Captain America films so far, I still love the fight scenes in that film but that's just me. I will go and see it again though. :)
  23. Hey, I'm Pamela. I'm quite a big Marvel fan but of other things too. I started cosplaying earlier this year and so far it's been Winter Soldier and Captain America. I'm in the process of making a brand new Winter Soldier costume for summer LFCC which I'm pretty excited about, making two days out of it so you may see me as my Stephanie Rogers guise too. I'm hoping to get to at least one or two other conventions this year, one in my home town which would be great. I just really enjoy the cosplay side of it more than anything and seeing everybody else in their costumes. :) I have a facebook page for my cosplay stuff and Instagram if anybody wants to take a peek.
