I wouldn't expect getting a selfie. Totally depends on the guest and the queue. Lucky if you get it, but with a photoshoot you can at least be sure.

People wouldn't be selling if nobody was buying. Plus just look on ebay... Last year i even saw someone selling Clint Eastwood's signature for over £200 However, i agree its an experience. I don't think of selling. I met the guests and they signed things FOR ME... Feels kinda lame to flog them on ebay. Anyway... What things do you take to get signed? Do you pick photos they have on the table, or you bring your own?

I didn't make any friends either. Talked to some people in the queues, but then everyone just ran off to different queues never to be seen again

Kim is lovely. I have both professional photo and a selfie. The problem with professional photoshoots is that you only have ONE shot. There is no 'lets try a different angle' or another pose thing. And you can't reshoot if a particular pose or angle made you look fat. As for guests, i got the feeling that some were very tired and fed up with the crowd, so not really willing to interact especially at the end of the day. I also had a feeling that less popular guests were neglected at the tables, while the crowds were mobbing the diamond ones.

I wouldn't count on selfies. They are pure chance depending on a guest. Another event i attended selfies were totally prohibited.

That is a problem that I am familiar with! I know it might seem overboard for 1 book but is there anything you can wheel it around in so you don't have to carry it all day? I am thinking to bring my wheeled suitcase, because there will also be items i'd like to buy at the event. When i met Ron previously i took an SOA comic instead because it was lighter and i was "limited" to a backpack

I wouldn't recommend too many, because there will be clashes, also you'll be running from queue to queue, stressing out, without any time to actually enjoy the event.

I like both. Really I prefer photoshoots, because its more personal, "been there" kinda thing. Autographs and autographed items you can buy somewhere else, however, when getting the autograph you can say something/ ask something/ have some actual conversation with the guest, not like in a photoshoot where it is "stand-click-shoo" I don't have costumes, just dress nicely for the day

I think of getting him to sign his book, but its a heavy thing to lug around

How can anyone regret Ron?

I just wanted to post this. My last year's impressions. There is a Pizza Express at Olympia. And MASSIVE queues at lunchtime. Like if people didn't spend enough time queuing at the event itself. However, just across the road from Olympia there was a lovely Persian restaurant. And it was completely empty. Delicious food and inexpensive (i paid about £15 for 2-course meal and soft drink). Not advertising here or anything, just saying -- save yourselves from another queue. Anyone else recommend a nice place to eat nearby?

Since its whole 7 months until the event, this time i'll wait.

Funnily enough, I remember he was more expensive when he was originally announced for LFCC last year (but then Brexit happened, so yeah). personally i always take chance to meet a guest/get auto when i can as never know what might pop up and they need to cancel. I don't think brexit has anything to do with it. The ticket prices this time look exactly the same as last time. As for Germany, the event was just organized differently -- autographs more expensive, but talks were 'free'. Agreed about chances. Guests are only human and anyone can have a change of plans. Plus in their line of work, attending this sort of events isn't exactly the primary responsibility.

I just have to say that that really depends on how many days you are going and what else you want to do. It's entirely possible to do loads of shoots but if you want talks and auto's as well yu do have to consider that. Yeah, but i met people who got about 7 shoots, basically rushing from queue to queue, without much time to enjoy the event.

I'd say don't book too many photoshoots, especially with popular guests, as it can get very stressful

Vegas Queen, is that pic from Hand of God premiere?? Yeah, Germany was expensive, but i'm so happy i went there. They had a meet&greet thing, i was even allowed a random photo. Ron is such a sweetie

I had a very limited budget and it was too late for me to get a diamond (refund for Ron's diamond came rather late). Was one of the last to be get his auto on sunday and he was very tired by then. But yes, i would have taken a diamond for him.
