  1. Nice! Would be buying entry ticket and a Tardis photoshoot with me cosplaying as the 7th Doctor, but I’m going to wait and see what the situation is with regards to the pandemic nearer the time.
  2. My other plans in regards to location have been cancelled but there may be an alternative arrangement at the same time, or on another weekend. Have booked a hotel but not bought any tickets yet in case circumstances continue to make me feel it'd be best to stay safe and stay at home.
  3. Got time off work and a hotel booked. Just waiting to see if I can go subject to other commitments...
  4. Disappointing but expected and understandable. Unfortunately, I won't be able to go on the November dates due to other plans and commitments. But am keeping an eye on the Collectormanias, and next year's LFCC.
  5. Wouldn’t be surprised if guests who live outside the UK decide to cancel. See what the PM says today. Also, I remember Showmasters saying they’ll review the situation in a few weeks time.
  6. A friend of mine mentioned that one aspect to consider is the flights between here and the US. In the event they're not happening, a number of guests could cancel. Hopefully, the situation will have improved by then.
  7. My initial thought was the 2016 Spring LFCC. I only went for one day and got everything done before lunch. I only stayed for the afternoon cos I was cosplaying. I feel it might be similar to that. I do remember the 2015 LFCC, where only the National Hall was used for the Ground Floor, and the Grand area wasn't used for Level 1, but Level 3 was used. And I do remember the chaos back then. I'm sure Showmasters have got something planned so as not to make a repeat of this. Have noticed there's no further news for the YALC event, but I assume that's still going ahead. With these in mind, I might only go on the Friday and Saturday as I have no other plans for the Sunday. But we'll wait and see...
  8. I usually set up my plans, costs and times on my Notes app. I aim to get the autographs and/or photoshoots as early as possible for guests attending more than 1 day, and have some other photoshoots to purchase on the day as backups in case the guest is No Photos.
  9. Same here in case I don’t end up going, or find a cheaper rate, even at the same hotel!
  10. Last night I found out my local carnival, due to be held in August this year, has been cancelled. Got me concerned about this year’s LFCC. To be fair, the carnival’s main source of income is donations from local businesses and the public rather than entry tickets so as SM said in another thread, LFCC is still going unless advised by the government.
  11. Understandable and expected in my opinion. Have noticed it'll be a week after the NEC Collectormania so may only be able to afford to go to one of them. Will wait and see...
  12. My friend managed to get his autograph today after a few failed attempts at Mr McDiarmid’s appearances at the summer LFCCs over the last few years (mainly due to high VQ numbers and time constraints).
  13. If there are weapons, keep them in a bag when outside the venue. Not everyone is aware that a Comic Con is being held and may panic, or even contact the authorities, for nothing. Also, don't worry about others when going to and from the venue. I've been doing this and no one says anything (except for the odd acknowledgement or query).
  14. Not got a ticket yet but if I do go, am considering the following: Photoshoot: Ernie Hudson in costume Diamond Pass: Riz Ahmed
  15. Location-wise, I find the Chiswick Premier Inn useful. One can take a bus to Hammersmith from the nearby bus stop, or from the Chiswick High Street.
  16. Have met him before but the costume photoshoot sounds tempting (might even bring a Twinkie). Can one assume it’s the Ghostbusters outfit?
  17. The Viking stall is definitely Horns of Odin. Bought some mead from them.
  18. What I meant was that the maps of where each individual guest was hasn’t happened since then. The only move I know of that year was David Bradley. I ended up with a high VQ number that by the time it got to my number, a crew member was saying he was going to stop signing and there was only one set of photos available to sign (not Doctor Who). Did eventually meet him at the 2017 LFCC.
  19. Nice. Reminds me of my experiences last year: When meeting Matt Smith, it was handshakes at the photoshoot, then fist bumps at the autograph signing. When meeting Peter Capaldi, I was hyperventilating a bit when he wrote my hometown on the photo.
  20. I got all the autographs that I definitely wanted. There were a couple that took my fancy but decided not to go ahead with for various reasons (time constraints not being one of them). One I would have liked to have gone for, but decided not to, was Hayden Christensen. This was mainly due to financial restraints, as well as potential time restraints (which wasn't the case on the day). Also, for me autograph-wise, Mr Christensen wasn't on the same level as those who played The Doctor.
  21. There was a map of guests at the 2015 event, but at least 1 guest got moved to another area. It hasn't happened since then.
  22. Have booked a hotel but I avoid the pre-payment rates in case I can get a cheaper rate, or the rare case that the Con dates change.
  23. I show photos to my mother. Sometimes I have to explain who the guests are, and for some of my photoshoots when I'm in character for my cosplays, she says I should smile more. I then upload them on my Facebook pages, and save them on my phone to show some of my work colleagues who aren't on Facebook.
