  1. Just a slight niggle that last year, we had Retro Dr Who (Davros/Tardis etc) in the corner for people to have photo ops on. This year however, it seemed to be the base for the cosplayers to queue up to enter the competition that seemed to be going on. No offence of course, but please make the event with everyone in mind, not just those who dress up (who delight every year by the way, nothing aimed at them negatively)
  2. Hi to all! Second year we've been now as a family and we enjoyed the CC. We did have a few thoughts though that I'd like to discuss with people if I may being a family with two special needs kids. Thanks to all the vendors who have adopted taking credit/debit cards (especially PayPal Here) For us, this is a godsend and a huge improvement on last year when it was basically cash only on the stalls. Traders NEED to take card payments. You'll get a lot more custom and it looks a lot more professional. It's easy to do now with iZettle, PayPal Here and the like so please think about accepting both cash AND card payments for next years and onwards. The Arena Staff Brilliant as always and can't fault them. The GOT throne pic-set needed more organising however as they didn't seem to know if there was a queue line or not. Very odd. MORE motor vehicles/props needed Last year, there was the A-Team van and a couple of other vehicles.. and Doctor Who paraphernalia which we all enjoyed (TARDIS/Davros etc) which we were disappointed to see weren't there this year. I understand that it's the anniversary of Back to The Futureā„¢ which is why the DeLorean was there but that on it's own unfortunately spoiled the event for us. It's not enough for a 'con' of this size. Traders Brilliant selection as always and there is always one we go to in particular who specialises in unique items such as the Goonie's maps/replica Goonies copperbone key framed which we picked up. Was lovely to see them specialising in BTTF items this year as well including the Gray's Sports Almanac which I've been after for a long time. Always a pleasure to visit them but please see the point about everyone accepting card payments. The pink stall (more girly items on it) My step daughter who has special needs LOVES this stall because it caters for her mainly. I have to say thanks to the person and people who own and operate it for their support when allowing someone with autism to make their minds up in their own time on the choice of item they would like to choose and not try and speed proceedings up like some traders would try to do. We look forward to seeing you again next year!! Again - thanks from us all. The VIP guests We had a lot of cancellations this year which was disappointing and I don't believe the lineup was as strong as last years. Hopefully this can be improved upon for further 'cons' at the Arena. And finally... Unfortunately, and I have to say this, because it seems as though this year was aimed at the cosplay fraternity as a whole and NOT as an all round event as it should be. Not all of us like to participate in cosplay and this needs to be readdressed I feel. The largest comic con's in the world are events for everyone to enjoy - not just certain sections of society. Please think of this for next year when facilitating the event. Big love to everyone who did dress up and gave their time to pose for photo's etc which is great to see! I have no qualms with the cosplay players who make it a big part of the day.. it does need to be a shared event however. Thanks EDIT: And.. and one final more thing (apologies) To the cosplayers... you do a grand job, you brighten the whole day, please keep doing what you do and love! May I please say though - the room can only have 'so many' David Tennant's variant of Dr Who's .... there seems to be a raft of you all doing the same 'schtick' with limited success.
