  1. Thanks! I shall indeed be there! I have kept the same folder since my first LFCC back in 2015, it's served me well! When I get home I just slip all the photos into a photo album type book thingy (technical term)
  2. Hi Loulou! I remember feeling nervous and excited for my first con, that was only a few years ago too! It's a really unique experience and you'll no doubt be awe of the day when you get to it! A few things I try to remember each year now are to bring a hard folder or one of those little presentation folder things to keep your photos totally safe throughout the day and travelling home, and bring some water and snacks so you're always hydrated and full of energy! Hope your first con goes super awesome :)
  3. Ohhh no! That's bound to hurt, have you had any remote chance of meeting any of them since? You never know, these 3 legends...(?) It's our first so it's all super exciting stuff, we've always gone together but she'll be like 8 months pregnant and definitely can't cope with (a) the long travel (b) standing up all day / sitting on the floor or (c) the heat, even though it's been much cooler the last couple of years But yeah, babies first definitely!
  4. Morning everyone, Bit of a late decision but after taking a break last year, I'm now coming to LFCC this year! Yay! This will be my 4th year I believe Slight potential stress as my lovely wife is due to give birth in like late August but luckily me and my buddy are driving rather than getting the train so we have the ability to leave if needs be! Excited to be coming though, currently down to meet; Chavo Guerrero and Kelly Kelly. Anyone else meeting any of the wrestling guests? I'm only coming on Sunday so I am GUTTED to be missing Rey Mysterio especially after his cancellation a few years ago(?) but I reckon it's gonna be an awesome weekend!
  5. Wasn't planning on going to LFCC this year, but now it looks like I am... I gotta book a photo shoot with Lita! :)
  6. So far I think I will be meeting Mark Henry and Lita... I tend to go mainly for wrestling guests. I was convinced I was taking a break this year after attending the last three in a row but it seems that some of the guests announced has ruined that plan So far, wrestling wise, I have met/had photos with; Rob Van Dam, Road Warrior Animal, Al Snow, Edge (twice '16 / '17), Christian, William Regal (favourite guest ever so far)
  7. I am 1000% more excited about this announcement than Ecclestone, pretty pleased - was going to get a Diamond pass but unfortunately I can only make Saturday this year so I will miss the talk!
  8. William might not seem the most obvious candidate for an appreciation thread but I have literally no choice but to sing his praises. In the photoshoot he was a calm and cool character, smiling in every shot and agreeing to almost everything people asked for. And then I met him at his table much later in the day when he was quiet. I got him to sign the photo from earlier, he was friendly and engaging, and I nervously added "Don't worry if not, but my buddy Jordan is getting married this Friday coming, and I am his best man, and he is a massive fan and I am trying to sort something special out for my speech, is there any chance you'd do a quick video message for me to use in my speech?" To my relief he said "yeah sure, it's Jordan and....?" he went on to record a short but cool message in character, and when I walked away he not only came across so thankful when I said "thanks for everything you've done for the industry" but he even noticed my wife taking photos to the side and smiled/said bye to her too. A class act, a true gentleman - I left the Con beaming after the interaction.
  9. Natalie was my most expensive photo shoot to date so far, and I must admit I was a bit worried that it wouldn't feel "worth it" as such. I have to say she was incredibly smiley and just lovely, it was rushed as I believe John Cleese ran over but even the few seconds of meeting her and having the photo she was awesome. Plus I made my first con buddy in the queue waiting for the shoot
  10. We had a little mishap like this with Christian, my wife and I had two tickets for Christian's photoshoot and so we aimed to go in both together, and do a serious photo and a "five second pose" photo. I let Christian know our intentions which he was cool with and so we posed for the normal one, and then immediately after the photographer said "right ready?" *click* and took two photos exactly the same! We were then sent over to the photo collection table. So I said to the guy taking out the photos and said "is it alright if we go back around again as we've paid for two photos that are literally the exact same photo, like what's the point?" (said it totally friendly, by the way, he was cool) and he just send us back into the queue again no dramas. We got our second pose and it was great. I knew I could trust the crew to just understand and be cool with it...
  11. Hi QS, sorry I'll clarify the Gemma situation, basically I had a Batch 1 ticket but the person running the shoot wasnt calling batches, just putting whoever was nearest to him into the queue lines. In the above quoted situations I arrived at every photoshoot today at the beginning of the session, early in most cases Edge and Christian was the morning session at Photo C, Gemma's was the PM session at photo F
  12. There seems to be a bit of confusion with batches today, I have had about 6 photoshoots and each time the queueing doesn't involve batches... For example Edge and Christian duo shot, it was a huge crowd and when asking crew which batches they were calling they said "all of them". Same with Gemma Whelan now, were standing behind about 200 people with a Batch 1 photoshoot, and we're going to be last in because it's now first come first served. Has this officially changed now or is this not meant to happen?
  13. I am meeting the following; Edge........ Auto Christian....... Auto / Photo (the photo was booked by accident, but it's a happy accident) Edge/Christian........ Joint Photo William Regal............ Auto / Photo Natalie Dormer............ Photo (most expensive shoot I've ever done at LFCC so far, this is my 3rd con in a row) As you can tell, I am a fan of wrestling.... and Natalie Dormer
  14. Awesome advice from people, thanks... I will be buying an autograph anyway since he's my main guest to meet this year too so fingers crossed it'll go down well! I don't think he should be exceptionally busy but then again... Rob Van Dam last year - just sayin'
  15. Hi all, Just curious, I am planning to meet William Regal / get an autograph at LFCC. My wrestling-obsessed buddy is getting married the weekend after, for which I am best man. Basically I was going to ask William if he would record a quick video message that I can try and fit into my speech. I know it's "down to the talent" but is this absolutely massively unlikely? Or is it possible? I think I've seen it happen before... but then WWE may not allow it. Cheers
  16. See now that would of better response than " Sorry, when the store says sold out there won't be any more tickets". It sounded like it was set in stone that no more shoot tickets were going to be available 100% sure. It happens once in a blue moon but keep up to date with staff and ticket site on the day and you never know - would of been my response. But I'm not a mod what do I know ;-) I think to be fair 99% percent of the forum users would have answered the same was as QS if the forum was more alive during the show, I know I can't recall a time where this has ever happened before!
  17. Yeah I saw them, and they looked like a lot of fun but I wasn't really prepared to spend the money without any idea of what was in it!
  18. Hey all, I just noticed on Facebook Showmasters have shared / posted a graphic showing that JDF's schedule has now changed, and his photo shoots are between 12:50pm and 2pm. But on the "main" schedule on the forum this isn't reflected, he is listed as being around 3pm. Does anyone know which is correct? I'm planning my day around it and don't want to completely miss the op! Cheers
  19. Quick question regarding VQ, I am planning to meet Edge for an autograph at some stage on Saturday, planning the day around me and my wife both trying to do different things, is it possible to get a VQ ticket each, queue up together and when we reach Edge, purchase 1 autograph? (in other words, can my wife queue with me and "meet" him free as long as I pay for something?)
  20. Your suggestions have been rejected. Lets leave this discussion now hey? Keeping on going on and on about it when the 'suggestion' has been roundly rejected is tantamount to smacking your head into a wall repeatedly despite everyone telling you to stop and complaining about why you have a headache. Lets move on shall we. Agreed, no doubt the ideas have been duly noted but since we don't have the power nor desire to change this rule, let's let it lie.
  21. "We're going to sell you two things. One thing you want, one thing you don't want. But in order to get the thing you want, you MUST buy the thing you don't want. Right, done that? The thing you want is being withdrawn from sale so here's your money back. But the thing you don't want? We're not giving you back the money for that. Don't want the thing? Tough, we're keeping the £50." You see nothing wrong with that? Really? When people are aware of what they're entering into, then no I see nothing wrong with that whatsoever. Buyer's choice to risk that or not. What you're essentially selling, then, is a lottery ticket. No it's not. With a lottery ticket, you either win or you don't. The majority of the time you'll get nothing back whatsoever. That's like suggesting that Showmasters either give you a guest for your entry ticket, or nothing at all. Like there's nothing in between. No. It's the buyer's choice to enter into this if they literally ONLY want to meet one guest who could cancel. There is still everything else on offer at the event whether the person wants it or not. Maybe calling it a Lottery Ticket was a bit much, I apologise and withdraw the analogy. But I still think a lot of the arguments are coming down to "it's just bad luck if they cancel but we're keeping some of the money". I think that's unfair, that's all. I honestly don't see that it is unfair at all, I think that Showmasters taking flak for this is the unfair part. They wrote the non-refundable aspect in to the agreements, and made it quite clear, and those that bought an entry ticket legally agreed to those terms. What more could they have done to make the point? The guest cancelling is unfortunate but y'know what... Just go to the Con, enjoy yourself - there are LOADS of great stalls run by empassioned fellow con-nerds, and a bunch of great free talks. You might just WILL have a great time :)
  22. Really? Who forced you to buy a 3 day ticket? The talk was advertised as Sunday so you could have easily done everything Sunday with the diamond pass. I repeat: This isn't about me. I can't see a huge problem here, I can see what everyone's points are in terms of finding a different way to operate however this is only my second LFCC and I also have loads of guests that I want to meet, but as someone who has to pay for train tickets and a hotel - I accept this commitment at an early stage and realise that I stand to lose what I spent in a worst case scenario. My first LFCC (last summer) - I only wanted to meet Kurt Angle and I was absolutely gutted when he cancelled (neck surgery, pretty understandable) but I still went and I had an insanely good time, I met some wildcard people like Rose Leslie who quite honestly made my entire weekend. I wasn't disappointed anymore despite really wanting to meet Kurt Angle. And this was my FIRST one! My second LFCC (winter) - I booked the same train tickets, and hotels for a weekend, all entry tickets and several photo ops, and then the event was moved to Brighton late on and I stood to lose everything. Which I essentially did, but I got over it pretty quick - it IS the nature of the system and if I can understand that on my second Comic Con then why can't others? This is my actual second LFCC and I am absolutely ecstatic about all of the guests that are still going, it's a perfectly strong offering and Showmasters put on a seriously good show considering that no other event has the amount of stars in the UK that LFCC does. IF a guest doesn't attend in this way (and trust me, I know what it feels like, it sucks) then it's because their accepting the terms of a no-doubt lucrative and expensive contract with their tv show or film production company, one that will ruin his career and cost him a lot of money if he doesn't abide by the terms. At Comic Con events we are PRIVILEGED to meet these stars, not entitled. Showmasters evidently do the best that they can. I sometimes feel that there is physically nothing more Showmasters can do to make people happy
