  1. Residents at the hotel can park for £12 a day - I'll be interested in the NEC prices too.
  2. I endorse this message. I'd wet myself (metaphorically) if Toby Jones was there.
  3. Wow, that's good - they only promised us 12 last time (though we ended up with more!) so there will still be plenty of talks etc.
  4. It does say on the website that tickets are limited, so I guess they'll be controlling numbers accordingly.
  5. I'll bet that we three will be close to the first Platinum numbers, though. A lot of people won't make the outlay yet without a single guest announced. I honestly wasn't expecting this to be today's announcement! But I'm very excited to be doing it all again. I've never been to any con other than Sherlocked so I haven't experienced a hotel con before, but I like the idea a lot.
  6. It isn't her twin. It's NEVER twins. But it was triplets, once.
  7. Also: RRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!
  8. It was lovely talking to you all here before, during and after the convention. Goodbye till the next time!
  9. Well, I am home now and have been reflecting on how brilliant a time I have had over the past few days. It has been great meeting all the guests, hearing interesting and funny talks, and meeting new people who are just as excited about Sherlock as I am. I have spent two lovely days with Raylenth, and talked to so many interesting and passionate people. I'm going to be in a lovely Sherlocky bubble for some time!
  10. I'd just like to echo everything that Raylenth has said. All the crew we encountered went above and beyond for all of us, whether staying relentlessly cheery in the face of huge crowds of the clueless, or doing magic in resolving clashes which looked impossible to sort out. You made it a completely brilliant experience for us all, and it's easy to forget that none of it could happen without this huge bunch of wonderful volunteers. Thank you all.
  11. Amanda was so happy to see this! Wasn't she a great guest? I hope she enjoyed it enough to persuade Martin that he might want to come next time. They could get round his objection to people paying for his auto by including one in the packages' overall price, maybe? *massively hoping but not expecting*
  12. I had a fabulous day - it was very busy but I didn't feel at all that it wasn't doable, and there wasn't half as much rushing from place to place as last year - though I would have liked to have spent more time in talks! I got to spend the day with Raylenth, which was a joy, and also met Evilfairie, who is not at all evil and in fact very lovely. All the guests today were gorgeous. I think Foxy Tim might have found it a bit overwhelming but Wanda chatted enough for both of them. Had a lovely talk with Alistair Petrie, and the composers, David Arnold being a bit of a hero of mine. We were so successful at autos today that it has freed up time just to concentrate on the photo shoots and talks tomorrow, plus the Sunday only people for autos (though I am going back to the composers a second time if I can find the time). I think this is a good job as I am expecting it to be pretty manic for Benedict Sunday. Gird up your loins, folks - it will be fangirls at dawn.
  13. Being crapped on by birds is supposed to be lucky, so see how the rest of the weekend goes! It was really great to see you too, and likewise you're completely lovely, as are Jhw and her husband, and it was super to have a big talk about Sherlocky things as a nice prelude to the main event. Hope to meet more of you tomorrow - look for a big mop of very curly blond hair in a Platinum queue and that will be me. I will probably be dropping things or falling over something, which is par for the course with me. I trod on Benedict's foot last time as I moved in for my photo. I enjoyed this evening: it wasn't too manic, and I got my set photo easily - I had time to arrange myself properly this time! PS Raylenth - GO TO BED!
  14. The stage is set; the curtain rises... I'm going across now. See any or all of you there!
  15. Some of the crew didn't seem sure about the registration process to begin with (one didn't know about the existence of the Platinum pass!) so I think they haven't necessarily had their full briefing yet. I will likely be over at excel about 5 anyway, and if I can get on the wifi (not easy) then I will put a message here to say what the arrangement is. But don't rely on it as I might not be able to.
  16. Now, I have a couple if hours to kill before I rejoin the throng inside excel. Luckily, I happen to have downloaded The Abominable Bride to my iPad. Huzzah!
  17. I think you're right as the pass just says Platinum, and the additional swinger which will get hole punched is specific to platinum A in my case.
  18. I am Platinum A number 45. I booked twenty minutes after booking went live. Yes, I know. And I was third in the queue to register. I am Quite Keen. The queue looked pretty long but there are separate desks for Platinum, Gold, Silver and Weekend, so it moves quite well. Have your photo ID ready with your ticket as they are being checked. For those of you who haven't left home yet - you don't get a plug chain to hang your pass on this time - apparently there's a proper lanyard in the Platinum pack, but you won't get that till later on. If you have one to hand at home, it might be worth bringing it to save the faff of carrying the pass till you get a Sherlocked one. I'm not sure if the same is true for the other package holders.
  19. Who leaves a wedding early? Actually it's not at all early now. Night night all. Tomorrow, the game is on!
  20. Yeah I'm not going to stay up stressing about it, we will find out soon I'm sure (well there's barely any later left so it has to be soon!). I've been watching The Office for the first time and have just got to the second Christmas special episode so am going to carry on with a bit of that. If I don't speak to you all later/tomorrow I hope to see you at 5.45 tomorrow or inside at some point! Oh, that is one of my favourite ever bits of telly! Enjoy, relax, and see you tomorrow. Completely off topic I know but just finished it and yay Tim and Dawn. Still makes me tear up, however many times I've seen it!

  22. This is the email I received at 11am today. Pretty unequivocal, at that stage at least. I wonder if the autos will be restricted to just those in the packages. That would keep it manageable for him in terms of time and demand.
