  1. Wishing Martin Freeman a very happy Birthday. (And wouldn't it be a good day to announce him as a guest?)
  2. That's a rather sizable autograph bill. You might be better off just buying a second platinum ticket!
  3. Arwel was definitely a listed guest last time. I hope he can make it again.
  4. But if the guests had cake maybe we would!
  5. But the REAL question would be... (If celebrities in pants with cake becomes available) Will Platinum and Gold pass holders actually have the promised priority option to buy first, once the tickets went on sale? because so far we haven't seen any of that either.
  6. I do think we'll see some more guests. Now if they had the guests, at the party, in their pants, with cake... That might make it worth buying separate tickets.
  7. DO IT! I'm so glad I got up the courage to ask Rupert for a hug pose, totally made my weekend. When I was in line for Rupert there were a couple of girls in line a few people ahead of me. They asked for a hug. The next person wanted a hug too. Then there was a guy directly in front of me who said he'd prefer to skip the hug (silly boy!) So when I was up next it was really easy to say, "I'd like to get back to the hugging please." (Plus I got a bonus Rupert grin for that.) Plus, success there gave me the courage to ask for the pose I really wanted when I saw him again on the 221b set couch!
  8. Not that it was really very good last time anyway, but have they said anything more about the "parties"? They were included in some packages last year, but were going to be separate this time. The initial announcement back in January said themes and details would be released "soon." 9 months later, even by Showmasters standards, I think we've well and truly passed the deadline for "soon."
  9. But at the same time, there are still an awful lot of TBC slots left empty in the Gold pass photo groups.
  10. T They've said that. On the DVD commentary, that almost everyone complains about John's chair being uncomfortable. Martin is the only one, apparently, who hasn't complained and since it's his chair, they've left it alone. And I think while the couch was much more comfortable, cuddling with Rupert was what made it so... memorably comfortable.
  11. I'd rather they got back to announcing guests, rather than what will be available in the gift shop.
  12. They make something similar for scrapbook papers. They're 12"
  13. I going to guess that someone's made a video with John and Sherlock as dogs or cats or something. But yeah... I'm not so excited to see what this one is.
  14. This is what I was trying to describe. Something like this on Amazon
  15. There are no stores near me that sell anything fandom.None. I resort to ebay and Amazon. Office supply stores and some craft stores sell small flat hard side plastic cases of various sizes that work great for carrying autograph items to and from cons. They're also great to protect your photos.
  16. I'm in the same boat, trying to decide how to handle the autographs. I did a poster last year that I'll take again this year to get all the new people who haven't already signed it. Plus I just got an Abominable Bride poster (the one that's a mid shot of Holmes and Watson.) Then I picked up a third poster, an older, more generic one of John and Sherlock from when they first issued posters. So because I have my husband in tow, we get two autographs from everyone. I want to keep the Abominable Bride one for people who worked on that episode, and then those who weren't will be on the other two. For anyone doing posters... Please allow me to suggest: BRING A POSTER TUBE WITH A CARRY STRAP. I had one last year and it made things SOOOOOOOO much easier. I saw a couple of people last year who were struggling without one. You can get them at art supply stores and they are nothing short of magic.
  17. Yay! I haven't met Amanda yet. And... if she has a really good time, maybe she'll convince Martin to do the Sherlocked USA in May
  18. I will always be perpetually hopeful for Martin. But... he's currently filming in Australia. However... it is an independent film, which often have a short filming schedule. But... He doesn't want to do conventions. However... He's said he will do them if contractually obligated or if TPTB *really* want him to for promotion of the show. So while I WANT it to be Martin (and Amanda) I Think it's going to be Benedict (which is fine.) As long as the BIG guest announcement doesn't end up being "Crying Woman on the Couch's Stepdad." (However... Crying woman did turn out to be very nice.)
  19. I hope they're there again too. I bought one of the framed 221b damask wallpapers, but now I wish I'd also bought one of the sets he had that had 3 or 4 smaller samples of some of the less famous papers.
  20. They've updated the information on the Marriott LAX to include the booking link for the block room rate of $145 per night plus taxes for up to 4 people in a room, choice of king or two doubles. The link is on the venue page here: http://sherlockedusa.com/index.php/venue The dates available are the Monday the 23rd to Monday the 29th.
  21. Crowne Plaza. (Same as last time.)
  22. Yeah, that's how I'm reading it too. I've been to a convention at this venue and while the ballrooms they use are large they aren't as big as the main stage area at ExCel.
