Honestly I'm in the opposite situation - I live around 350 miles away yet I'm prepared to make the journey because I find the lineup to be much better than most other conventions happening at the moment, even though I'm not really a Doctor Who or Star Wars fan!!

There's definitely an impressive variety of guests - so much so that we are making the journey from the North East to get down there for the weekend! Saying that, the number of Star Wars and Doctor Who guests DOES seem massively disproportionate to any other franchise.

My girlfriend and I are coming as Kirito & Asuna from Sword Art Online on Saturday, but she's switching to Sinon from SAO2 on the second day (if the Sinon costume arrives on time!). We've just managed to get some plastic/foam swords to improve the outfits too. Looking forward to seeing all of these great costumes guys!

Hi everyone! This will be me and my girlfriend's second ever con and we're keen to upgrade our costumes by getting some props. Specifically, mine will be a foam sword and hers will be a plastic sword. Neither are sharp, nor are longer than a metre. We're not wanting to enter the contest, just wondering if these would be okay inside? Thanks! :-) P.S. Where would we need to go to have the weapons "checked" (if necessary)?

My first con. How do I actually go about attending one of the free "talks"? Do I need to get some sort of ticket when I arrive, or is there just a queue at the stage entrance? Thanks! :)

Hello everyone! My girlfriend and I are hoping to get to this year's event, which will be our first ever convention. However, we've been so busy getting costumes sorted out that we forgot to book our Saturday tickets, which have now sold out - oops!! What time would you recommend arriving at the venue in order to get in at a decent time on Saturday? We're super keen to attend the Red Dwarf talk! Also, how much are tickets on the day? Any other helpful tips to a pair of first timers? Thanks! :)
