  1. Megaphones or monitors would be a good idea. For the person who managed 70 photo shoots, congratulations! I did only 7 I think. I was knacked by Sunday but it was thoroughly enjoyable. Next time, I'd take a mate, but I don't have anyone whose really into that sort of thing.
  2. Even in the films, Rob wasn't always in full costume and fans got photos of Robert in his makeup and where you going to get an opportunity like that? The way I see it is that I got a photo of Rob as Freddy Kreuger in a different costume - I find that the LFCC shirt actually added a nice touch to it all, rather than ruin the experience - for me, I wasn't disappointed at all, I thought it was really cool. Rob has also stated there are reasons why he doesn't wear the full costume as well and I respect that - just to meet Rob Englund was a major plus as I've been a big fan for MANY years. To get him in his makeup for a photo shoot was once in a lifetime. Can't see the issue. Also, an opportunity has arisen for those who weren't able to get his auto on Sunday, so everything's cool.
  3. I like the "I Want To Believe" poster - there's not too many of a certain type of this poster floating around. The signed BTTF poster is a gold mine - keep it safe! I regret somewhat not taking a poster for signing now!
  4. I'd love to meet Christopher Walken - he's a legend. I think that the names mentioned here are not unrealistic. As I say, if they can get Sly, we can get him too (in the US for their comic con). No reason why people like Arnold wouldn't do it but expect a massive diamond pass price, around the 1.5-2k fee.
  5. I think getting people like MJF and Sigourney Weaver was something of a coup for Showmasters this year. How they'll top it next year, we can only wait and see. I don't think its beyond Sly to do an event like this, or indeed people like Arnie. I mean, he can set the charge for his appearance and the price regulated accordingly - if it were like £1500, I'd pay it in a heartbeat. He's an idol of mine. Or indeed Sly. Ford would be really awesome, too. Some stars I agree, wouldn't come out of egoism, but I don't think its unreasonable to hope that Sly might consider it. His autograph and photo prices were rather reasonable for his con in the US, I thought. I think it was around $700-$800 for an auto and photo and if it were the same over here, £7-800 pounds, I'd pay it. That is once in a lifetime, too. Still, I am soooooooooo pleased to have met MJF and Sigourney - that really was once in a lifetime and was dead reasonable at £113 for a photo and MJF's diamond pass was good value at £445 for what you got. I'm interested in how they may top this next time.....
  6. I was happy with the diamond pass goodies - I mean, the two passes I bought for MJF and Robert Englund were worth the value, minus the goodies in my opinion. To get a photo with MJF and Robert Englund (in his Freddy makeup) is once-in-a-lifetime. Worth every cent. Whilst Rob may continue to do conventions, this is likely the only one MJF will ever do. I say likely because he might do some every few years, but this is a very rare chance and it is possible the chance may never come again and £445 is a bargain for a photo and an autograph. I would've paid for Sigourney's but had run out of money and was worried over clashes a bit, too. Still, got a photo with her. No, I think the goodies were just a bonus, besides what you pay.
  7. londonboy891, post your photos to facebook or a site where images can be linked from there to this forum and then use the image option here to post the link for your photo and the photo should appear in the message window. Hope that helps.
  8. I would just like to repost this, but this is the best way to protect your autographs: Keep them in an archival folder of museum/long term storage quality. Also, put 8x10's inside a polyester pocket - little else suffices, I am afraid. Keep this folder in a dark area, away from light. For items displayed in your room, such as photos/posters, use framing options/glass that are of museum quality. You can't go wrong. Using the wrong materials can cause serious harm to your autographs over time.
  9. This has been mentioned elsewhere, but it does seem that some were only interested in going to the con in order to get his autograph and flog it on e bay. Even then, I am wondering if it is authentic. Just shows that some people were just not interested in meeting him. Sad. I got his auto no problem.
  10. II would love for both to come to a UK con. The tickets would sell out in seconds.
  11. Sadly I am inclined to agree. The best we can hope from Ford is private signings. The best we can hope from Murray is a good mood (very unpredictable character).
  12. Aside from MJF signing my items I do have photos of the other 10 actors signing the piece plus I used my plutonium case in the photo shoot with MJF and CL. Not forgetting that I have diamond passes for MJF and CL which guaranteed an autograph. Hi Ian - I see your point - yeah, if you had a multi-signed item, then yes, it would give a lot of credibility to the fact that MJF signed your item and those who you couldn't get a photo for, signing your item. Its a really nice signed item and could be worth a lot of money, one day, not that I would see you selling it, since it is an excellent piece - one of my main regrets is that I did not get a piece multi-signed, but this was my first con and wanted to test the waters first.
  13. You can't get photographic proof from the con because no photos were allowed, meaning anyone wanting to sell their con auto, it would prove difficult to do. I would never sell my autographs unless it was a matter of life and death in terms of a financial crisis and even then it would be a last resort.
  14. That shows dedication - no wonder you're exhausted - I got like 4 autographs, 7 photo shoots and attended a few talks and I was very tired after that, so if I did what you did, it would've taken me a while longer to recover, I'm sure. Took me a day or so to fully get over it but I find it hard to believe it all begun over a week ago now - just crazy. Hope to go to next year's one and I will plan exactly as I did this time. I don't regret who I didn't meet really because I got some photos of them at their tables, so all in all, good. I might see if I can coax someone to come with me next time too but the problem is, I don't really have any friends which fit that particular category. Also depends if I have enough money, too. Was an epic weekend!
  15. Neve Campbell was easy to meet Lea Thompson was easy to meet Christopher Lloyd was easy to meet (though I was amused at how the golds got in before the diamonds on that occasion) Sigourney Weaver was easy to meet as I went to her 2nd power loader photo shoot as I had a clash (I'm glad there was one as I saw the morning queues for some of the prop photo shoots and they were hectic). Michael J. Fox's photo shoot was busy but once it got going, it was fine, just a bit of a wait and congestion. Robert Englund was very busy for his makeup shoot but again, once the congestion had died down and the queues got going, it was fine, just a bit of a wait. Overall, it was straightforward, just busy and congested.
  16. One of the things I regret is not being able to buy the talk footage from Neve Campbell or otherwise - I mean, if there's no harm in anything she said, which is what film companies would be clamping down on, what's the harm? As I say, that footage must've ended up somewhere. Its not a major thing, but I still would have liked to have seen it.... :)
  17. I got all of them i needed - Rob Englund had a small queue on Fri so I was lucky. Frances Lee McCain (what a lovely lady) and Zach Galligan had very short queues and was even able to snag a photo with Frances. Michael J Fox had a long queue Sunday but it went quick and managed to get a nice 8x10 shot signed. I am sorry for those who didnt get autos. I ordered a 8x10 Bill Paxton auto too so hopefully be seeing it soon.

  19. I try to protect my autos best I can, but it depends how it was signed - in years from now, the ink won't be as good as the day he signed it and if you didn't look after it well, then yes it could fade. It will fade completely one day - if it will last within my lifetime, regardless of how well I protected it, that'd be great, but I don't see it. I was pleased though, nevertheless to get his autograph. The photo does mean more to me as its a great memento of the day and not prone to losing its quality like an autograph could and since photos go digital now, it should never be an issue. Was great to meet him for a photo and auto, nevertheless. Just my opinion :)
  20. That is great dedication - hope you get to meet Tom and get a photo/auto - he's meant to be a gent with his fans! Heard some great stories about him.
  21. He's not meant to be very approachable in real life, from what I hear, either.
  22. They should've been - I found that the MJF autograph queue moved quickly. Diamond Passes should've got their autograph as it was guaranteed.
  23. If you would pay that in a hearbeat why didnt you? tickets were available to anyone and were on sale for ages? Sadly Boggle, I was unwell last year and I had issues at my workplace and it was a distressing time for me - however, had I known Arnold was around, I would've paid the money there and then but astonishingly, I didn't manage to pick up on the fact he was doing this sort of thing. I was cursing myself. Maybe one day, I will get the chance to meet him but the recent con has allowed me to meet some wonderful guests to make up for that and who I hold in the same esteem.
