  1. I really can’t see this going ahead in July, despite what SM have said. The dates given by the government are earliest possible dates which are all subject to review depending on the current situation. The moment there is a slight relaxing of restrictions, we all know that there are stupid people who will immediately start behaving like we’re back to normal, and I can see cases rising again and the dates being pushed back. Also, I’m guessing a lot of guests will be coming over from the States. They may not be happy coming over here at that time, and I can see lots of cancellations occurring if the event insists on going ahead in July. Surely it would be more sensible for SM to wait until October/November time when, hopefully, things will have calmed down more? I know they are probably desperate to start earning money again, like most companies, but they have to be realistic. I for one, don’t want to attend an event where the guests are in masks, or stuck behind glass panels and, if this is the case, I would sincerely hope that prices for autographs and photos were reduced accordingly and those of us who have already bought tickets will get partial refunds.
  2. Have just seen MyAnna Buring. What an incredibly nice person she is. So friendly and has lots of time for her fans. Just wish that everyone was like this.
  3. Just wondering if there was a list of guests who will be having virtual queue tickets?
  4. No clashes for me. Even better, 4 of my photoshoots are one after the other in the same area . The other 2 are nicely spaced out in the afternoon so I should have a relatively calm time getting my autographs and browsing the stands. Hope that’s not tempting fate!
  5. Have to agree with all these comments. Thought Hayden was extremely friendly and easy to chat to. He came across as someone who was genuinely happy to be there and meet his fans. Did think his body guard was a bit scary though! As I was in the queue approaching Hayden for my photo, I was watching the guard, and he was studying everyone coming up to Hayden like a hawk. I commented to the person next to me that I really hoped no one put their hands in their pocket as they approached Hayden as I’m sure the guard would have jumped on them! Lol
  6. On the whole I had positive experiences with the crew. Have to echo the praise someone else has already said to the person on photoshoot F who was holding up a small whiteboard with the guest name and current batch number. Why can something like this be done for all photoshoot areas, as it made it very clear what was going on? My main issue occurred in photoshoot area B for Hayden Christensen. Initially there were insufficient staff for the number of people crowding around the area, and those staff that were there, were by the entrance to the shoot furthest away from the main stage. To compound the issue, the Main Stage had Rey Mysterio’s talk in progress with extremely loud music being played followed by loud talking over the speakers, meaning that it was virtually impossible for the staff to be heard, especially by people on the far side of the area. Maybe for another year, Showmasters can look at locating the main stage away from the photoshoot areas? Also, it is known well in advance which photoshoots are the most popular so there is no excuse for there not being extra staff moved into these areas in preparation to handle the crowds.
  7. I’ve checked a few of my photoshoots and they all match between the schedule here and the app.
  8. Diamond Pass ordered. Please please please no more guests that I want to see unless they’re coming on Friday! Going to be a very busy Saturday for me.
  9. Just so people know the procedure. If you want to upgrade to a Diamond Pass then you need to purchase it and then email the shop (shop@showmastersevents.com) with the order number of your original photoshoot and the new order number of the Diamond Pass. They will then arrange a refund.
  10. Quick question. I want to upgrade my photoshoot tickets to a diamond passes and it says to contact the online store. Is that Showmasters online shop or Eventbrite? If it is Eventbrite, is there a phone number to ring? All I can find (after much digging) is an online form to contact them. Thanks
  11. Just a word of warning. If Tom is as popular as Peter Capaldi, Matt Smith etc last year, then unless you get a diamond pass, the chances are that you won’t be able to get an autograph. Peter and Matt stayed late last year just so that the DP people got their guaranteed autographs.
  12. Have to say I had a good day today at the show. Yes, it was a lot smaller than the July show, and as a result, I did have a lot of time waiting for my photoshoots, having been round all the trade stands numerous times. This was basically because I was able to get the autographs I wanted nice and quickly, so it’s a good reason. I had photoshoots around 5:00pm and by this time, the hall had really emptied and as a result was very comfortable for a change. I would have preferred more variety of trade stands, but can’t really complain at all. Just hope this becomes a regular show, but maintaining this smaller size.
  13. Did you see the chaos at the David Tennant photoshoot area last year? I’ve never seen such a badly organised queuing system and the staff on duty didn’t seem to know what other staff members had done. One young girl staff member started letting a load of people who had only just turned up and only had normal tickets push in front of a whole crowd of us with diamond passes and who had been queuing for ages!!! Quite how a fight didn’t break out I don’t know! So they’ve still got a hell of a lot to learn if that’s anything to go by.
  14. I hope that enough time is allowed for everyone who buys a photo shoot ticket to actually get a photo, especially those with later batches.
  15. But she wasn’t doing that. Rather than get the people who had just turned up with Diamond Passes to the end of the Diamond Pass queue, she halted all those at the front of the queue who had been waiting ages, and slipped the new line in. Because at the time the queue was moving really slowly, other people were then just coming along and joining this new “feed” that the girl had made. She was totally clueless about the chaos she had just created. As for the time difference, I would estimate this actually added at least 10 more minutes wait time, which is hardly negligible, and anyway, is totally missing the point! Someone did tell me later that after I had left, the “main organiser man” came along and kicked off to the crew about the total disorganisation.
  16. After the chaos I experienced on the Saturday of last year’s show, I was initially reluctant to attend this year. However, I thought I’d give it another try.... Highs: Saturday’s show, for me, was a really enjoyable experience. It seemed well organised and I was able to attend all my photoshoots and get my autographs comfortably and still had plenty of time to look around the dealers stands. Even during clear times of stress, most guests I met were polite and displayed a genuine interest in meeting you. A huge “Thank You” to Matt Smith and Peter Capaldi who agreed to stay late to ensure all Diamond Pass holders got their autographs. Lows: Sunday! Having experience how well run everything was on Saturday, I was looking forward to Sunday. Oh dear! If anything, it was even more chaotic than the Saturday last year. The blond crew girl, wearing a green top who caused utter mayhem in the David Tennant Tardis Photoshoot queue. Many of us had been in the queue for half an hour before the shoot was meant to happen, and the crew members had got us all organised so as a result, I was right near the front of the line (we were alI Diamond Pass holders). Just as the line started to move, this blond girl appeared out of nowhere and ordered that we all wait and she started letting people, who had only just turned up, join the front of the queue (they were other Diamond Pass people, not Extra Help guests). She refused to listen to all the complaints that we’d been waiting ages and that we ourselves were Diamond Pass guests, and as a result of her actions, there was nearly a fight break out. The ridiculous overselling of Diamond Passes for some guests. I thought the idea of Diamond Passes was so that a “select few” who were happy to pay more, had priority treatment. However, with the overselling, it basically means that we don’t receive any special treatment other than it’s now the only way to get to meet some guests!
  17. Just wondered what are the chances of me, as a Diamond Pass Holder, actually getting Matt Smith and Peter Capaldi’s autographs today? Keep getting told by the staff to come back later, currently 5:00pm. As a Diamond Pass is a guaranteed in person autograph, will Matt and Peter be staying until all Diamond Pass guests have received their autograph? And if not, then what happens?
  18. There’s a cafe in the basement you can go to. Of course lots of other places nearby. This is quite a low key event compared to larger similar events and I’ve never had the need to get here really early. I usually stroll in some time around 10:30am and get the autographs I need and can be out again within the hour, sometimes half an hour! Yes, Tom Baker will be popular, but he attended just over a year ago and I just joined the queue close to the time he was due to attend and saw him within the hour.
  19. That's fine. Just didn't really want the autographs without actually seeing the people albeit via the photo shoot.
  20. If we have pre-ordered autographs and now the people have cancelled, do I assume these orders will now be cancelled?
