I think its quite simple: I want to purchase a DP, if I want both photoshoot and autograph - I purchase full DP. If I want only an autograph then I purchase an autograph only DP (all SM have to do is punch out the photoshoot on the DP when putting it in its collection envelope). If I only want a photoshoot then I purchase a photoshoot and don't need to buy a DP. Jeri Ryan was 2012 (pre-DP days) so I think it might have been harder to manage sales of the various options then. If SM do hold to "full DP or nothing" then fine - I will drop the purchase of the GP, and use the money saved to purchase DPs instead even though I am not bothered about having the photoshoot. I know from speaking to other GP buyers in the queues over the weekend they to were unsure why they were buying a GP if it didn't guarantee them a VQ ticket low enough to meet the star attractions.

Actually QS it could work on the basis that a DP could be sold with the photoshoot already punched out - I am not bothered about most photoshoots which means many DPs are a gross over spend for the autograph. I only got 1 big Doctor out of 4 over the weekend because of DP exclusivity despite having a GP and getting VQ tickets for them all within the first 30. SM still get to charge a premium for the guarantee - which is more than they do for the photoshoot sale for a DP guest when the buyer isn't purchasing an autograph.

For sure - it is not a criticism of Arthur - as you say they may be mitigating circumstances, just a reflection of the experience.

Highs Great line up; top meets were - Pearl Mackie - very friendly - liked my shirt, reminded her of one Nardole wore in one of the episodes Noel Clarke - just a top bloke who was having us much fun as we were David Tenant - thanked me for travelling down from Scotland for the whole weekend to attend! Nathalie Emmanuel - so pleasant to speak to and seemed really interested in what I had to say. Lows Only poor meet was Arthur Darvill who seemed rather bored with it all Diamond Pass exclusivity for CE, MS & PC - as someone who isn't bothered about a photoshoot the DP is a waste of money so I go for a gold pass and look for a low number VQ - didn't work with these guests obviously. Why can we not buy an autograph DP only - you can buy a photoshoot without the DP. I suspect there will be either no gold passes next year or virtually no point in buying one if the level of DP sales for main guests are replicated next year. Only other comment here is DP says guarantees 1x autograph yet many people (particularly Meat Loaf) were turning up with enough items to supply half a small town with one - limiting this might help next time. Overall, my best LFCC experience yet (8 now) and hoping next year's big show/genre will be GOT as it is its final season year - I might even go for some DPs if they get the tier 1 stars to attend.

What I do know is that at 2.30pm they tried to stop personalisations because Alyson was taking to long with people and they were trying to speed her up. Why would you want to pay £75-£85 for something that looks no different to that which is on ebay? The personal touch is what you ARE paying for. Alyson was awesome at the photoshoot and talk as well. Clearly cares about the fans.

I do think Health & Saftery were compromised this weekend - particularly Saturday. Less is more I think and if we have fewer tickets available and have to pay more at both door and for signings and photos then so be it. I had a great weekend, as many people did, but that should not cloud the fact that making money appeared to come before personal safety - one for SM to respond to and refute if they can.

This guy is a legend. I don't even watch Bones but was queueing on Friday to get an autograph from him for my son's girlfriend as part of her birthday pressie (they live in Scotland and couldn't attend themselves). Just as I got to the head of the queue, having watched hug & pose his way through his first 20ish signings, he gushed apologies and told me not to go away. When he came back and heard why I was queueing he immediately agreed to speak to my son's girlfriend on the phone and wrote a superb dedication on the photo. As a result she was hyper all weekend, I'm told. I might even watch the show now!

Lena was great fun this weekend I thought. I saw here at the begining of Saturday for the autograph and early on Sunday for the photoshoot. She seemed to be having a blast and loved my t-shirt to boot in the photoshoot. I am sure the guests all have off days but she definitely on her game this weekend!

This young lady was a true star. After talking about Defiance and the direction of Season 2 I told her about my son who was gutted he couldn't make the show given she was there and Defiance is one of his favourite shows. She immediately offered to give me a free autographed photo for him which included a lovely personal message. I would take my hat off to her if i wore one.
