Quick question, have those who have been before seen adults wearing ear defenders?  Are they allowed?

I don't hesitate to bring them for my autistic children when I take them places that they find overwhelming.  I generally try and manage (I'm autistic as well) but I know I will be pretty stressed having had an early flight then making our way out a major airport and onto public transport in a new place before I even arrive at our first comic con ever! I'm just worried about sticking out like a sore thumb  Maybe I should trying pimping up at pair to make them look a little geeky :D

my folks think I'm nuts to be doing this but I'd do anything to meet any of the lucifer cast

From googling ear defenders I see they are like big headphones. I can't think of any reason why they wouldn't be allowed, and don't worry about looking weird. Comic-Con is about not worrying about looking weird! I've seen people use headphones like that on public transport, so don't worry. Just wear what you need to feel comfortable and don't worry about what other people may think!

Does anyone know if Malorie Blackman at YALC will be requiring VQ tickets to obtain her autograph, appologies if this has already been asked, thanks. :D

As WrongName said it is better to contact the YALC people on social media, but I think it will mention it on her YALC announcement page if she requires VQ tickets. I remember one year seeing it written somewhere about some authors that they would require VQs and I think it was on their YALC announcement page. But better contact YALC to be certain.

Is there a limit on how many things an author/illustartor will sign for free?

I don't know of any official number, but certainly if you show up with a sackful of books they will say "no". You can ask theYALC people if there is an official limit; they have a facebook page so maybe if you send a question there with the number of books you are hoping to get signed they can give you more info.

I'm not a first timer. But I never was at YALC. This year there's an author I love and want to meet. Has anyone an idea how to get from the lfcc show floor to the yalc area? And how does it work? Do I have to buy the books to sign at YALC or can I bring my own books? Is the yalc area very crowded? Are there long queues? This YALC thing is so near to LFCC but yet so far away ;-)

As Raylenth said, you use the stairs or life to get to the YALC floor. Check the YALC section of the site for the YALC schedule, it will say when the author is signing. They already have a first draft of the schedule out. You can bring your own books; sometimes if the author is there to promote a new book you have to have bought that new book (happened with Judy Blume), but as far as I know you don't have to buy it there, you can buy it wherever you usually buy books and bring it with you. The YALC area has much fewer people than LFCC, and the queues aren't that long. As a result they don't generally use virtual queuing, though I think there were 2 authors one year that did have it. If there is such a thing it will say so at the YALC page for the author.

Last but not least, if you have an LFCC ticket you can't enter the YALC area first thing in the morning; you have to wait till 10 or 11 (don't remember exactly, but check the FAQ). But all the signings are after that time so it won't really matter for you.

  5. Belated post on my behalf, but booked the photo shoot as soon as I saw the announcement. Got Batch 1! It has been one of my dreams to get a photoshoot with Spock doing the Vulcan salute, and now it looks like it will come true. Thanks Showmasters!

(Actually, my dream was getting both Zachary Quinto and Leonard Nimoy in a photo shoot doing the Vulcan salute, but I don't see that happening unless we find a way to resurrect the dead, so I'll settle for 1 Spock...)

Stranger Things 3 starts today, could that be something to consider.

That would be great! When Millie Bobby Brown attended after S1, I hadn't watched the show yet, so I didn't meet her. Would love to get the chance to meet her now!

Just out of curiosity, if it really is someone from the MCU, does any of you remember the DP prices for Jeremy Renner and Benedict Cumberbatch when they attended LFCC a few years back?

I don't remember the DP price, but the since autograph/photo shoot price was 65 for Jeremy and 85 for Benedict, so you can extrapolate from there.

Edit: I see Raylenth was ahead of me!

As a child, I was terrified of the film ET. :whistling: (And I was scared of the slitheens from Doctor Who, I was a weird child.)

My goddaughter is 5 and she also finds it really scary. Her older brother loves it!

“Have your photo taken On YOUR PHONE” for £2 ;)

My photo takes really good pictures, and £2 is cheaper than the professional £10, so I'm OK with that!

Send it my way, I would do stupid things for rain.

The heat killed our 2 week old router today.

Hope the heat doesn't keep till LFCC, or it will do more than kill a router! I am preparing already for another hot con like last year, but I hope the weather turns cooler. Last year was like a sauna!

Save that one until October. :whistling:

I won't be coming to England for October Cons; there's only so many times I can afford to fly over if I want to be able to do other things than go to cons! October and December I go to local  cons that don't involve flying and are therefore cheaper.

I bought my Saturday ticket in January lmao

I bought mine about the same time, because that's when I booked my flights. I was trying to get a cheaper deal, since the return flight to Greece in July was going to be expensive anyway.
