  1. Good, I see many nice free talks! Especially glad about the Jason Isaacs free talk, as I was planning of buying a ticket to his paid talk before that was cancelled. Glad to see it just got changed to a free talk!
  2. From googling ear defenders I see they are like big headphones. I can't think of any reason why they wouldn't be allowed, and don't worry about looking weird. Comic-Con is about not worrying about looking weird! I've seen people use headphones like that on public transport, so don't worry. Just wear what you need to feel comfortable and don't worry about what other people may think!
  3. As WrongName said it is better to contact the YALC people on social media, but I think it will mention it on her YALC announcement page if she requires VQ tickets. I remember one year seeing it written somewhere about some authors that they would require VQs and I think it was on their YALC announcement page. But better contact YALC to be certain.
  4. I don't know of any official number, but certainly if you show up with a sackful of books they will say "no". You can ask theYALC people if there is an official limit; they have a facebook page so maybe if you send a question there with the number of books you are hoping to get signed they can give you more info.
  5. As Raylenth said, you use the stairs or life to get to the YALC floor. Check the YALC section of the site for the YALC schedule, it will say when the author is signing. They already have a first draft of the schedule out. You can bring your own books; sometimes if the author is there to promote a new book you have to have bought that new book (happened with Judy Blume), but as far as I know you don't have to buy it there, you can buy it wherever you usually buy books and bring it with you. The YALC area has much fewer people than LFCC, and the queues aren't that long. As a result they don't generally use virtual queuing, though I think there were 2 authors one year that did have it. If there is such a thing it will say so at the YALC page for the author. Last but not least, if you have an LFCC ticket you can't enter the YALC area first thing in the morning; you have to wait till 10 or 11 (don't remember exactly, but check the FAQ). But all the signings are after that time so it won't really matter for you.
  6. Belated post on my behalf, but booked the photo shoot as soon as I saw the announcement. Got Batch 1! It has been one of my dreams to get a photoshoot with Spock doing the Vulcan salute, and now it looks like it will come true. Thanks Showmasters! (Actually, my dream was getting both Zachary Quinto and Leonard Nimoy in a photo shoot doing the Vulcan salute, but I don't see that happening unless we find a way to resurrect the dead, so I'll settle for 1 Spock...)
  7. Talk suggestion: I've noticed there are a couple of Star Wars crew people attending (2nd unit director, special effects etc). Any chance we could get a talk with these people? I'm not so much interested in getting their autograph, but I would definitely like to attend a talk where they discuss their work.
  8. I think there was an announcement that it will be available as a solo prop shoot.
  9. That would be great! When Millie Bobby Brown attended after S1, I hadn't watched the show yet, so I didn't meet her. Would love to get the chance to meet her now! I don't remember the DP price, but the since autograph/photo shoot price was 65 for Jeremy and 85 for Benedict, so you can extrapolate from there. Edit: I see Raylenth was ahead of me!
  10. And I was just thinking I would rather have Daisy Ridley than Hayden Christensen... Daisy would be great!
  11. My first thoughts were MCU too. Star Wars might be another option, with Episode IX coming out in December.
  12. There's an unofficial meetup and quiz night planned on Saturday evening, here is the link to the thread: https://showmastersonline.com/forums/index.php?/topic/97262-the-great-lfcc-geek-off-5/
  13. My goddaughter is 5 and she also finds it really scary. Her older brother loves it! My photo takes really good pictures, and £2 is cheaper than the professional £10, so I'm OK with that!
  14. Hope the heat doesn't keep till LFCC, or it will do more than kill a router! I am preparing already for another hot con like last year, but I hope the weather turns cooler. Last year was like a sauna!
  15. I won't be coming to England for October Cons; there's only so many times I can afford to fly over if I want to be able to do other things than go to cons! October and December I go to local cons that don't involve flying and are therefore cheaper.
  16. If we are to get a bit of Star Trek, I would prefer Zachary Quinto. I'm a big Spock fan!
  17. I think if it was a legend they would say Big/Great guest announcement, so it's more likely it's a regular guest.
  18. I bought mine about the same time, because that's when I booked my flights. I was trying to get a cheaper deal, since the return flight to Greece in July was going to be expensive anyway.
  19. Yes, as long as you don't exceed the limit of autographs for this guest. As Wrong Name says, most guest have a limit of 5 autographs per person. But you can buy autographs for other people, I've done it a couple of times.
  20. I informed some friends of mine who are attending on Sunday. Sunday tickets may still be fine, but if Saturday tickets are running low I think Sunday tickets will soon follow.
  21. Hope we have news about these 3 legendary actors soon. I am thinking of booking a 70 pounds photo shoot; I don't want to do it and then have someone expensive announced that I would prefer to meet instead.
  22. I prefer autographs, but if it's someone I definitely want to see and there's a high chance I will miss them with a VQ I opt for the photo. And if they come again, I can try for an autograph. Did that last year with Aidan Turner (couldn't afford a DP for him).
