  1. Thanks guys! I think I will not get the cover signed, since I don't want to display the comic and as ChwaerFace pointed out it can get worn. I think I will go for the page inside the cover.
  2. I second this. People at the con will know you are cosplaying, so no problems, but people outside might get a bit freaked.
  3. I have bought a binder with plastic cases and keep all my photos and autographs in there.
  4. OK, so this year I'm getting 3 comics signed by the artists, and I'm facing a bit of a dilemma on where to get them signed. Should I ask the artist to sign the first page inside the cover, or find a nice big picture in the comic and get them to sign there? The best option would be to get the cover signed, however these are not the cover artists, just the comic artists, so it doesn't really make sense to have them sign the cover. Any suggestions?
  5. Yes, I think it's 1 email for every ticket. I got 8 and did a backflip until I realised it must be 1 reminder per ticket.
  6. The meeting is 7pm Saturday, I think the quiz starts around 7.30. There was a post where you added your name to the list, just so there can be an estimate of numbers.
  7. It's looking better than it did last week, when it said it would be 24 C. The cooler it is outside, the less hot it will be inside.
  8. I remember in 2014 Anthony Head was announced the week before the show.
  9. Cons are such a nice atmosphere, all the geeky people together. I've chatted to a few strangers, and I am going to meet people at the forum meet-up this Saturday. Really excited!
  10. Regarding the lady guest, what if you have HER propose to YOU? That will be different from the standard "man proposes to woman".
  11. Don't jinx! Sean is one of the two actors I'll be totally gutted if he cancels! (The other is Dominic Monaghan)
  12. It allegedly exists but I didn't feel it at any point last year. The building being so ancient doesn't help either. Last year the top floor was a real sanctuary for chilling out in so I am a bit concerned about it not being in use this year. I think with so many people in the building, there is a limit to what air conditioning can do. And I think the top floor was cooler because there weren't that many people there.
  13. Getting an anti-perspirant is not necessarily good. Sweating is what helps keep your temperature down when it's hot. If you reduce it too much you could be in trouble. Better to shower and use deodorant so you don't smell.
  14. Lots of water and patience! I am thinking of bringing a fan as well this year.
  15. Great news! Looking forward to the Harley Quinn costume especially; it looks really cool!
  16. I also want to ask about the YALC zone: will it be accessible from the first floor, or will you have to go down to the ground floor reception and take the stairs/lift from there?
  17. Tickets Camera Peace of cardboard to keep autographs from bending 3 Comic books for comic guests to sign 1-2 bottles of water (usually just bring one and buy more at the con because I don't want to carry lots of stuff, but this year I may bring a bigger bag) possibly a sandwich cereal bars for breakfast in the queue tissues + wallet + mobile phone (these are standard)
  18. Most expensive thing was Angel Box Set for either 30 or 35 pounds (don't remember which). Most expensive autograph/photoshoot was Carrie Fisher, 65 pounds. I can't imagine how some people manage to go without drink the whole day with all the heat in the venue; I think I would die of dehydration! I bring a water bottle with me but buy many more bottles at the venue as I run out; I don't want to have to carry lots of bottles with me. Although this year I'm thinking of bringing a bigger bag so I may pre-pack a sandwich/extra bottle.
  19. If a photoshoot clashes with a talk you can either try to go to both (just miss some of the talk) or go to the ticket booth and get a refund for one of them. I had a photoshoot clash with a talk the first year I attended and got a refund for the talk.
  20. I'm lucky in this as August is summer holidays month in Greece, so when I get back I won't have to wait long till my holidays which will involve lots of sleeping late and swimming in the sea. Also my cousins are coming over from England so it will be good seeing them.
  21. Unless I'm mistaken this is it: https://www.google.gr/maps/place/Crown+%26+Sceptre/@51.4974153,-0.2087029,17.75z/data=!4m13!1m7!3m6!1s0x48760fea137dc4cb:0xc49e55de6dcf9f79!2sKensington+Olympia+Station,+London,+UK!3b1!8m2!3d51.497958!4d-0.2103887!3m4!1s0x0:0x849201817e352188!8m2!3d51.4979085!4d-0.2074555?hl=en That's the badger... (or potato?) OK confused, is it that one or have I made a mistake?

  23. That is my fear, too. However I think I will go to the hotel just to have a shower and change, as I expect to be hot in my Tauriel costume. Depends what time I leave the con. If I leave before 6 I may try for a short nap (will set an alarm!), if I leave at 6 I will just change and leave with no nap.
