  1. To be fair I don't think many pubs would be complaining about the extra revenue :) I am on the case about the Saturday. Liaising with the Crown to sort out the Third Annual Great LFCC Geek Off...
  2. I just have to say that that really depends on how many days you are going and what else you want to do. It's entirely possible to do loads of shoots but if you want talks and auto's as well yu do have to consider that. Yeah, but i met people who got about 7 shoots, basically rushing from queue to queue, without much time to enjoy the event. And there are some who go only to collect photos and plan their days so that they can fit in as many as possible. It depends on what your priorities are. I'll be there all three days and will likely have around 20 or so shoots over the whole weekend and still have time for stalls and other things. I know some people who have three times that many and manage to get it all done. Work out your game plan each day and stick to it. The staff are there to help if you need it.

  5. I will be there, and I will be opening a thread for the third annual Great LFCC Geek Off on the 29th in due course
  6. Oh and the blue shirt girl scanning on photo A on Friday (I think?) wearing glasses... We were chatting about how many you'd gotten up to the second time I came around. What was the final number?! :)
  7. Damn I just got through this thread... What happened for me to be turned into a shirtless man-horse? (Not centaur, just in case anyone is thinking that.. A centaur would never pull a chariot!)
  8. Great review! Sorry I didn't realise we were queuing next to each other on Saturday, which queue was it? Next time, give me a nudge! I'll also be at Bournemouth and a couple of the other you mention too, so will definitely say hi if I see you.
  9. Rogue Potato: a Potato Wars Story
  10. See now that would of better response than " Sorry, when the store says sold out there won't be any more tickets". It sounded like it was set in stone that no more shoot tickets were going to be available 100% sure. It happens once in a blue moon but keep up to date with staff and ticket site on the day and you never know - would of been my response. But I'm not a mod what do I know ;-) That was the second time ever that this happened, and certainly the first time ever while the show was on. It is normally set in stone. Forgive me for a 0.0000002 percent error margin in over 10 years of modding. And for the record, I wasn't even in the freaking country and in a hospital to boot. My way to "Keep up to date with staff on the day" was a mobile which I wasn't even supposed to use. This is on my own money for calls and text messages which is not being reimbursed. I'm doing this because I am trying to help. While staff on site are dealing with on site enquiries they are not constantly checking their mobiles "oh what does QS want now". Some info went on Twitter and not to me because as some users have posted here some staff actually thought I should better rest instead of being on here. Us mods are volunteers and we are doing our best. I decided I'd at least do what I can from here because besides me only StuartG was around and he had to work. Honestly, sometimes I wonder why I even bother. EDIT: This is not meant as a pity Party or something. I do what I do because I like doing it. But reading a post like that now wasn't exactly what I needed to read. QS, nothing in that implied a pity party. You've done amazing things to keep the forum ticking over despite being laid up and really not needing to be here. Unexpected things happen, and I would have never doubted your comments saying "sold out is sold out". Thanks for doing your thing, you and the other mods do sterling work.
  11. Luke was the Red Shirt at Photo A on Saturday. Having him and Stuart running the area was the best decision that could've been made. Both top notch chaps, and great to see Luke getting put up to red this year! Brendan at B was also a top guy, helped me out after a clash with no drama. Thanks fellas!
  12. No problem! Always happy to give a little bit extra when it's appreciated. Everyone who turned up and took part was awesome, and the feedback has been great. Only question is how to make it better next year!
  13. Just a heads up, if anyone who was at the meet up or has visited the Crown this weekend could go onto trip advisor and leave a review, that would be awesome. The more we show our appreciation, the more willing they will be to accommodate us in future. I'll give a full rundown when functioning later, but please review, and remember it's the Crown and Sceptre on Holland Road W14. Thanks all!
  14. Well!! What an evening this was, is, and is turning out to be! Thanks to everyone for coming, taking part, and being the most awesome quiz group an emcee could ask for. You guys rock. Proximi mei, meum fundamentum
  15. To be fair, with the rigours of a con day and the age of the guest, him feeling ill and making a request to make a photo shoot easier is not unreasonable. The fact that he still saw the shoot through was a credit to him, and for my part he said thank you when I said it was a pleasure to meet him and you're welcome when I thanked him. Everyone has different experiences but mine wasn't bad.
  16. Saw a few faces around today, looking forward to tomorrow!
