  1. Kristian Nairn was great to meet, friendly and shook hands with everyone before the photo. My daughter had photos with the Phelps twins, Benedict Cumberpatch and Mark Sheppard and said they were all brilliant. We cosplayed characters from Supernatural - Castiel and she was Abadon. I was surprised so many people wanted to get photos with us and said they liked our cosplay. I got a fan girl scream when I held my FBI badge upside down (on purpose). And the two people dressed as Alfie were great. Best comment was when I was sitting down waiting for Mark Sheppard’s photo shoot. Someone walked past and said very loudly so everyone could hear, ‘That’s the worst costume I’ve seen here all day’. Except he didn’t say ‘worst’ it was something rather more coarse. I looked up and there was Mark himself grinning at me. Loved it.
  2. Sorry, I should have said - it's for a photo with Benedict Cumberpatch. I'll be with her when she joins the queue.
  3. I just realised the ticket I ordered for my daughter has my name on it Obviously my mistake when ordering - is this going to be a problem?
  4. Noooo... My daughter had an emotional meltdown when I surprised her with Benedict Cumberpatch. She'll explode if I book Mark Sheppard as well
  5. Only went on Saturday but got home feeling very tired but very happy. Crashed out as soon as my head hit the pillow. Sunday mostly involved sitting on the sofa. But yes, post LFCC blues, same as last time. All the anticipation and build up and now it's all over. It's worse than that bit of the year between Christmas and New Year :) Very glad I'm not back at work until September though.
  6. I missed the Iron Throne last time it was there so really glad I got this one: My daughter met Michelle Gomez and came out of the shoot buzzing with excitement. She was lovely. Then she dashed across the hall to see Jeremy Renner: She was really happy with both guests as you can probably tell from the smile on her face :) We were both also really pleased to have a quick chat with Simon Mayo: Best LFCC (out of three) we've been to. Exhausting but brilliant!
  7. I know my daughter would explode (and I probably would too) if anyone from Supernatural was a guest this year. So yeah, Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki. Please?
  8. Have only been to a couple but really loved summer 2014 (our first). We found out what it was all about :) I met Dina Meyer, my daughter met Jenna Coleman,we did the Dr Who prop shoot, bought comics, took a million pictures, met Darren Shan. I realised this was going to be a regular thing for us!
  9. Actually, that reminds me: last year my daughter was being Black Widow and had two toy guns without orange tips. We kept them hidden on the train but no-one at the convention said a thing...
  10. I'm getting a 404 error on that link. I'm thinking I might rethink my shield. I have other options :)
  11. Okay, on the same note, I've made Captain America's shield from a satellite dish. It's aluminium so pretty light and I've glued foam around the edge so there's no danger of accidentally scraping against someone. Does that sound safe enough? I promise not to frisbee it across the hall :)
  12. My daughter and I met Darren Shan and Derek Landy in previous cons and both were brilliantly friendly and talkative. Angie Sage would be a great guest. Will we know what days the authors will be signing? Out of all the guests, I'm most looking forward to meeting Simon Mayo.
  13. Sunny Surrey here. Hoping trains run well on the day.
  14. Here’s my daughter as Natasha Romanoff: It’s a work in progress. I’ve sorted the belt buckle thing, will look for boots and dye her hair. Quite excited about it :)
  15. We're putting together an Black Widow costume for my daughter. Need a top, so thinking of a black polo neck and adding the Shield logos on the shoulders. Bit plain on the front though... And because she doesn't want to be the only one of our group in costume, I might have to go as Wolverine :) It's our first time cosplaying.
  16. Dina Meyer was delightful. She seemed to be having a great time meeting people, had a quick chat with each person until the crew told her she had to hurry up as the show was closing (or supposed to be closed by that point). Got a great photo with her - been told I look very smug Darren Shan was great too, talkative and happy to pose for a photo with my daughter.
  17. Best bit of the weekend! Only just seen this schedule. My daughter will be disappointed as we're only going on Saturday and won't get to see Holly Black and Holly Smale. Not sure I can convince the two girls I'm with to let me sit in the talks all morning...
  18. Travelling from – Surrey, UK Travel arrangements – Train and Tube Hotel - Nope, there and back in one day Days – Saturday Going with – My daughter and friend's daughter Cosplaying? - No but looking forward to seeing the Cosplayers Autographs - None Photos - Dina Meyer for me, Jenna Coleman for my daughter. Our other companion was going to see Sherilyn Fenn but she's cancelled The Iron Throne and Tardis console! Talks – Sherlocked, some other free ones Predicted cost of LFCC – £85 on photoshoots, who knows what else will catch my eye
  19. Crikey! I'm on a tight budget so it's one photo for me (not sure who yet - maybe Dina Meyer), one for my daughter (Jenna Coleman). We have another person in our group who will have a photo with Sherilyn Fenn. Might get carried away on the day and buy up some more photos or maybe spend some money on merchandise. It's our first time and not sure what to expect!
