  1. I only realised recently that it is based on a real memoir "Orange Is the New Black: My Year in a Women's Prison" written by Piper Kerman. So there is a real piper, and a real Larry (her husband). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Piper_Kerman. I guess thats why it stands apart from some of the terrible prison drama's out there.
  2. Any other Kevin Smith fans here? This is my obsession. Not just the films but also the podcasts, live shows and other works. Clerks & Clerks II Mallrats Dogma Chasing Amy Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back Red State And to a lesser extent Jersey Girl, Zac & Miri Make a Porno, Cop Out. He's got a couple of new films coming out soon/in development: Tusk (Horror), Comes the Krampus (horror/monster), Yoga Hosers(comedy), Clerks III Hoping it's not just me
  3. Kevin Smith with the comic book men & Jason Lee & Brian O'Hallaran will be awesome but heard Kevin has other commitments at the moment so maybe winter lfcc?? hopefully.. Yes, It definitely won't be this time. But hopefully future con maybe. I'd say winter is probably out as well due to shooting commitments. Next summer he will probably be promoting a new film though.
  4. Kevin Smith Robert Rodriguez Quentin Tarrentino Danny Boyle Spike Lee Samuel L Jackson Ben Affleck Brian O'Hallaran Comic Book Men (Walt Flanagan, Ming Chen, Mike Zapcic, Bryan Johnson) Jason Lee
  5. Wow... thats a big stage. Wow...just wow... Well personally I'm hoping it's a lot bigger...so I'm not so far back :/ ho hum.
  6. From an event organisers point of view; it's always better to get money upfront. Suppliers, guests etc. may require some form of payment up-front. The venue definitely will. The more that is left to sell at the event...the more of a financial risk it is for all involved and as a result the show would probably be a lot less fun and it would be harder to attract good guests etc. I'm sure guests will also consider pre-sales when deciding if an event is worth their time.
  7. Wearing a themed tshirt for my favourite guest. By otherwise I don't care so much about how I look. It's the guest that's important and capturing a moment in time.
  8. Getting marvel avengers phase 1 blu ray box set signed....hopefully And my partner will be getting an xmen comic signed
  9. 2 that I definitely want....more I may get if I feel like it on the day.
  10. Growing collection. Mostly Blu-ray with some DVD's still be upgraded. and smaller TV selection:
  11. My partners tat based on an X-men cover (not yet finished). and the cover:
  12. After going to our first con at CFCC last year we have been looking at other events to go to; Stan Lee made the decision easy.
  13. I have a network railcard which gives me 1/3rd off mainline trains - which paid for itself in a single trip - but it also give you 1/3rd off a one day travel card at the weekend. So it only costs me £5.90. Which is daft when a single trip from zone 1 to zone 4 (no discount) costs £5.70! Cannot use the railcards with oyster cards though, which is a shame! But the cost of travelling round London tends to be cheaper by oyster than a paper ticket, but caps are the same as a paper travelcard. I have one myself for when I am travelling with my kids, makes a journey with two adults and four kids so much cheaper. You can - or at least with most types of railcards. You have to go and register your card at a ticket office for them to put the discount on for you; but then you get discount on top of the already discounted oyster fares. Did this with my 16-25 Railcard.
  14. If in doubt...there is usually a sign that shows the next few stops along Before you get onto the actual platform which helps to check your getting the train in the right direction for where you want to go.
  15. This would be a great idea. I know it's becoming popular for lots of large events to have a companion app. But obviously a fair amount of work/cost involved.
  16. Newport, Wales Taking the coach down with my fiancé and staying friday-Monday (but skipping the show in Saturday to do other stuff in London.
  17. The first season is quite slow compared to the rest of the series. It doesn't have the same relentless pace as OITNB; it's a different show; but I still enjoyed it.
  18. On a slightly related topic...are autographs cash only?
  19. Getting my Avengers phase 1 blu-Ray box set signed (hopefully)
