Personally I've, so far, have never gotten or seen anyone getting bad feedback from people on the tube whilst cosplaying. Most people on the tube wont even blink an eye and only occasionally you will get people asking for your picture on the tube. Its always very nice seeing other people on the tube in cosplay and sometimes very useful as if you every get lost trying to get to the convention you can follow someone in cosplay to get there.

Any news on Program Raffle yet?
Laurenafenete replied to Wall_E's topic in London Film and Comic Con 2014
I can understand that some people may be annoyed by this on an initial emotional level as they had to pay for it and somebody else has gotten it for free, but in reality what do you expect them to do? They obviously had a surplus of programs, so would you rather they just threw them in a skip? It costs SM time/effort/money to dispose of them, if they just hand them out for free then they are getting rid of them in such a way that at least some people are benefiting from it. There are things that I am annoyed about in the program (mainly the raffle but could also have done with some more relevant info like maps, schedules, price lists and the like but I can see the POV for wanting to keep it vague), but they fact that they were giving them away for free at the end of the Sunday when I had previously paid for one is not one of them. If somebody had already bought a programme it did them absolutely no harm (as for better or worse the raffle was apparently over at this point) for spare programmes to be given out to others, so I do not really understand why people seemed to have such a big problem with this. I think this is quite a standard thing anyway, I have been to previous event of all types where they have done exactly the same thing. True true. Its better for them to be used and read instead of being thrown away. Oh well I'm not really bothered, I bought it because it was a program and not for the ticket. I ended up with two anyways (one I paid for and the other given to me). -

I was just a tad annoyed that they started to give out the programs for free at the end of sunday as I bought a program on that day. -
What would you do differently next time.
Laurenafenete replied to Starbuck17's topic in London Film and Comic Con 2014

i have learn over the years NEVER put autographs in photo albums or plastic wallets. auto's need to be kept in special wallets that wont degrade the picture or lift the signatures on them. I always and only reccomend anyone go to franks autos for their storage. all my friends i have introduced to cons all go to frank too. Now I'm slightly worried about my photos eek! I dont think I can get to another con for a long time to buy some of these wallets and I cant order online unless its amazon or ebay. not sure if we are aloud to post links on the forum or not but look at http://www.franksautographs.com/ or if this has been edited and the link taken out look up franks autographs on line its easy to find the auto/photo storage is under- autograph starter packs, autograph storage boxes & polyester pockets on the site. I'm currently on the site, however as I've said I cannot order stuff online as I dont own a paypal account or a credit card. (Mainly because I am a tad too young) Thanks for the tip, I think I'm going to do that. When you say "let it dry" do you mean the ink on the photo? Edit: Ignore the question, sorry didn't read the whole thing properly.

Sherlocked: The Official Sherlock Convention
Laurenafenete replied to showmasters's topic in Sherlocked
No. That's not going to happen. Hi, sorry if this is a stupid question - I've never been to a convention before. Can you confirm that showmasters definitely won't run two conventions on the same weekend? Like a lot of people I'm desperate to go to Sherlocked, but also trying to book time off work/holidays etc. I can see the dates for other events on the forum main page, would I be right in thinking that all of those are safe weekends to book other things for because Sherlocked won't be on the same days? Thanks for your help I wouldn't call them "safe weekends" but yes it would be a tad silly of showmasters to hold two comic cons that they are both running on the same weekend for obvious reasons. However it doesn't mean that other conventions ran by other companies will not clash with the Sherlocked convention (whenever that is), for example Dash con and LFCC. -
Does anyone know a place where you could buy autograph holders, preferably somewhere in the UK? I saw a lot of dealers selling them at the con and I did buy one but I would like to buy more. I have tried amazon and ebay but most of the holders are either too small or you have to pay expensive postage.
-
I would like to say a big thank you all the volunteers who were there at LFCC. Especially the two guys at photo C who helped me navigate to photo D and were generally loverly to talk to. Also to the lady who was handing out the VTs for Colin Baker's autograph who was very helpful.

Laurenafenete replied to showmasters's topic in London Film and Comic Con 2014
Damn he's only doing saturday, oh well more time for me to explore on sunday... -
Yeah I feel for you. I've got a similar problem, lets just hope that I will have enough money to attend the con.

I've never been to a comic con or gone on my own to an event as I am still quite young. However I have been to a Sherlock filming day (or as many call it, setlock) and I have to agree with everyone on here you will never be lonely. I met a lot of people on that day who shared a lot of similar interests as me and we had a great time, even if we did get a bit sunburnt. Just be open to talking to a lot of new people and you will definitely find some cool people to talk to at the con.
