  1. hey all

Just wanted to post about my experience yesterday

This years LFCC has been one of the best I've been to in years.

There's a few things I feel should be worked on for next year which I will start on first

I arrived at 820 to be placed in the holding area inside in the queue. I understand queueing systems I run them myself in a busy tourist attraction but what baffled me was no signage or staff. 9am hit and and I needed to be inside for Christopher Lloyds photo shoot at 930 - the queue didn't really move until 920 for us then to find we had to walk through a maze of barriers and security guards not really caring that we needed to be inside.

Once inside the panic subsided we found the photo area and having the old store tickets worked in my favour for not having to wait long. My only gripe was the feeling of military movement once inside. Don't get me wrong I get it for keeping a queue moving but for meeting a movie icon it was too rushed. The picture wasn't even checked before I was moved but as I wasn't happy the staff said go straight back n have another which was nice but woman on queue was super strict - as soon as flash goes you move to my response of I'm not walking into some ones picture.

After this was done we went exploring to see the upper floors before the mayhem of the afternoon set in. The upper floors were lovely and also super cool some how all the air had escaped up there.

When we came back we went to find Jason David frank who we discovered was running late so I got my virtual queue ticket so it was time to look at the stalls.

When we eventually came back he was there and the queue was moving. I decided to hang around as it was getting nearer to my number. It eventually stopped 4 away and the woman insisted to tell me I would be best to come back in an hour but I stayed. A guy arrived two numbers away n we stayed and after 20 minutes I spoke up and said we were so close in number she eventually allowed us to join the queue and changed the numbers.

What can I say Jason was so lovely and kept apologising for keeping us waiting but I was so happy to finally meet him he has been an idol since my childhood it was completely worth the wait.

After this we went in hunt of the queue for the bttf talk

Luckily this was very early and we were about 30 back in the queue which was fine. I totally get why we had to queue outside but all the guards outside were lovely so it was fine. Once inside the talk area we had great seats and I feel happy we were a part of it. The print they gave out after is lovely and will be added to my collection.

After some shopping my last stop was Jason David franks photo shoot. Although it was hot and I was super tired the queue line moved quick and when I got to the front I got a great hug and am so happy with the picture.

Show masters you guys have pushed the boat out this year and it was much better at Olympia as I don't think this would have worked at Earl's Court.

I still think live updates on Twitter of VQ ticket numbers would be great. So easy to turn notifications on and would save people standing round in the heat.

Have had a great time this year and can't wait to see what neat year brings

And for those of us not on Twitter?

  2. I liked having the chance to buy diamond passes this year but I wasn't aware that quite so many would be put on sale. When the guests have 2 lengthy standard photoshoots a day as well as prop shoots, a talk and then rest breaks there isn't a huge amount of time for signings even for diamond holders. I realise now how fortunate I was to get my MJF and Christopher Lloyd ones done with relative ease (couldn't get Robert but wasn't too fazed as have had several items signed by him at past events). It was very clear from looking around at the diamond exclusive talks that there was a lot sold as so many people attended. Maybe there should be a cap on the diamond passes put on sale? Maybe limit them to 500 for guests attending 2-3 days and 250 for those attending 1 day? That way the diamond talks feel more intimate and exclusive, diamonds can really be guaranteed an auto, less frustration for non gold/diamond holders at photoshoots and more opportunities for them to get autographs. I have seen comments before on here about gold passes getting vqs for standard ticket holder friends coming in later. This does seem unfair as those who have waited longest in the queue should not end up with a higher vq than a gold pass members friend who is arriving later. A suggestion could be not giving out vqs for non diamonds until a flow of standard holders come in or asking to see peoples wrists before giving out vqs for the first 30 mins of show to make sure they haven't already got gold?

But gold had to get VTs for diamond pass guests.

The best idea here is to sell diamond pass guest package where only diamond passes can meet the guest and no one else.

Yes people will be disappointed but at least people who had paid could get everything they were entitled to.

  3. Used auto vouchers on GoT and Aliens actresses.

When queuing to Rosa Leslie saw Keishas "assistant" take that 10£ voucher and 5£ note for one auto.

The problem was I am not into Aliens or Star Wars, I had already met the Game of Thrones Guests so had no choice whatsoever.

  4. Just to say some of the shoots seemed to have lighting difficulties yet again. Some photos were being taken so quickly that in one I was caught in mid sentence which looked awful but couldn't change it.

Some photos were excellent but others far too light and quick.

  5. Pros

Early entry on Saturday and Sunday

Gold pass room regularly stocked with chairs, water

    and sweets

    No need for VTs

    Front of talks.

Called second for Diamond Photos and autos.

    Cons

Goody bag was hardly that. Most of what I had was not worth it.

Being stopped form entering Gold Pass room numerous times today during diamond talks. Excuse was that we may have listened from inside the room.

Crew members who had no idea that the pass meant we could join a queue at any time or go to the fron of the photoshoot queues - more training maybe.

Ten pound auto vouchers - not very useful when your not a Star Wars fan at this event.

Too many were sold- it didn't feel special or exclusive.

I hope Showmasters look at this and give feedback when they come back from the event.

Like I said, we don't want to be treated like royalty but do expect something exclusive for the £225 that we paid.

  6. Carrie Henn doesn't have a diamond pass. It is only for Bill Paxton, Christopher Lloyd, Michael Gambon, Michael J Fox, Robert Englund, and Sigourney Weaver. They are guest specific. It does not give you priority with everyone.

But she is part of the S Weaver pass and he had a gold pass as well.

  7. What is going on with the photo areas? Photo Area C has power probs and had to sacrifice Tom Savini to get to Neve Campbell and the RDA shoot is overrunning? And where the hell are the crew?!? Not happy losing money :(

You shouldn't lose money if you were there on time and have paid for the shoot, especially if it wasn't your fault.
