  1. When I said I might cosplay Dorothy the person I'm going to LFCC with said they'd cosplay a cyberman...so then its dorothy and the tin (well some kinda metal) man. lol! Well it made me chuckle anyway. Now If I could find a scarecrow (human nature) and a lion (Warriors Gate) I'd have the full set. Maybe have River as the Good witch. Who would be the bad witch? I get a theme and my mind runs with it.
  2. Welcome. LFCC14 will be my first ever proper convention too. (I only went to the doctor who celebration thing last year - and on my own). Olny downside to being on your own at a con I found was I felt really self concious about asking strangers to take a photo for me coz I didn't have tripod/timer. Are you going to cosplay?
  3. My back up plan if its *really* hot is I'll go as Dorothy from the wizard of oz.
  4. Another thought what about having a green screen with various props that way you could have any 'background' you wanted added on in post.
  5. Thanks. Pleased to see its all FREE. I'm working on a budget here so every little helps. I'm intreiged by the 'talent show'....what sorta talents? I can play the Melodeon. I also although not at the same time...yet. I've been to LFCC 3 times and I've sat in on the talent show each time - You have singers, rappers, dancers, magicians, actors, comedians amongst a whole bunch of other talents. I say take your Melodeon and get on that stage :) Although I might take my concertina instead as its more...timelord-ish.
  6. Yes please. Although I might swoon. What about some of the cast of Downton Abbey?

  8. I'm more interested in jewellry and clothing. Scale models and autographed photo's don't really float my boat. Is there pleanty to look at if you don't get any photoshoots or autograph oppertunities? Workshops etc.?
  9. So not having been to LFCC before I was wondering what sort of stalls are there? Are there all just comic stuff? Being as there's cosplayers there will there be a (screen accurate) fabric & haberdashery stall? I'm just wondering so I know wether to bring any spending money or not.
  10. After quick discussion...me and my cousin have decided to cosplay 4th doctor and romana in the end. Although this is subject to change depending on the weather.
  11. Just wondering...how do you choose what to cosplay (might help with my own decision). Is it because they are a fave character? You think you look like them? You just happen to have the right elements to hand?
  12. So do I. Saw it in the bargain bin at a well known retailer several years ago so had to rescue buy it as it reminded me of my childhood. yeah definately one they could take the ideas and re-imagine for todays TV audience.
  13. The Next Doctor, The Idiot Lantern. Found there's a load of episodes in the 'on demand' section of my cable provider.....so that should keep me busy.
  14. Yay! Someone else who remebers it. I usually get blank looks when I mention the title. lol! I think it was a good concept...maybe someone should bring it back?
  15. Hi I'm in my late 20's, am a Doctor Who fan*. The eighth doctor is my favorite (if you can't already tell from my avatar). I haven't been to a comicon before (Really all I know I've got from watching big bang theroy). The nearest I've got was the special 50th celebration at the excel. I enjoyed cosplaying so much I thought I'd try to find another event to wear my costume creations too. I sew (Mainly vintage and historical clothing and blog about it). I also crochet, play folk music (squeezebox), and dance (lindy hop and charleston...but I dabble a bit in other jazz and swing era dances like foxtrot and quickstep). *I also don't mind stargate SG-1, Red Dwarf, Crime Traveller (yes I know it only got one series), and Bugs. I also like Downton Abbey, Lark RIse to Candleford and strictly come dancing...but suppose that's not relevent.
  16. Every year I think I won't watch it..but then I see an episode and I get hooked. The show had a different feel this year I think.
  17. A quarry...An alien planet. or yeah city or forest might be interesting.
  18. You mean entry tickets? You won't have problems buying these on the door. Photo shoots sometimes sell out. Fantastic. :) The entry prices are so reasonable (I'm used to paying a lot more for a whole weekend at a folk festival or swing dance workshop...) But I need to find out if I can co-erce any friends into coming with me (and hoping for some doctor who guests) before buying. lol!
  19. How quickly do tickets sell out for the event in general? Is there ever tickets on the door?
