  1. I'd also be careful, some of the 'free' photographs are of low quality images, or are cropped pretty poorly. If its something you're going to display, to be safe, I'd buy it beforehand. I wouldn't trust MovieMarket either, as they are guilty of the same.
  2. Agh!. This is terrible news. I guess the pressure is now on to convince the illusive ones we all desperately need, for our new headline space guest. Schmitt Young Mattingly Collins

    Horror Con

The only danger of that is that the line-up could be weakened, and people just pulled together because they were in the background of some film. It needs at least one big named guest, a reunion, or some kind of thought behind it. Rather than just a bunch of cheap names thrown together, and put in a corner and called 'horror zone'.
  4. Maybe it should be buy a fortune telling fish, and get a free book?.

    Horror Con

Not forgetting that we also have a major horror film festival in the major cinemas in London, sponsored by one of the biggest television companies. There is a market, and its arguably even bigger than most of the other genres that are covered.

    Horror Con

I agree, where did the other posts go. That's really poor moderating. Anybody would read Davids post, and think that's the truth. When the other posts gave evidence that view was clearly wrong. I specifically kept it to 'mainland Europe' so not to break any rules. No wonder that a horror con never happens. As I said, I'd prefer if the people in charge just were honest and said 'I'm not interested, its not my bag'.

    Horror Con

    With George Romero being hyped as latest the 'big guest', and events springing up in every town - is it time to revisit the old question 'should there be a horror con?'. I don't understand the logic that there is no UK market, when successful American horror cons are going on almost every month. I'd much prefer the organisers to say 'I'm sorry I'm simply not interested' than to peddle some excuse that simply isn't true. ;
  8. According to the Telegraph in March of this year, the following are still alive: Alex Cassie - Document forger Ken Rees - Was in the tunnel, and went back Sydney Dowse - Escaped (edit : died 2008?) Dick Churchill - Escaped Paul Royle - Escaped? There must be others who played a part in the escape in some way. Escaping from Coldtiz is another: Francis Flynn (edit: died Feb 2014) Tommy Catlow Corran Purdown
  9. As I said there's a danger that this becomes like what the press interpreted the Star Trek event to be. A place where you are unable to actually meet anybody, as the queues are too long. Perhaps that is what New York already is like, or perhaps they do things differently. I'm not convinced that 'bigger is better'.
  10. Are there any great escapers still alive too?. Let's have the best line-up of famous war veterans.
  11. Whilst I love the idea of the event growing, it worries me that it's going to get 'too big'. The headline guests can only sign for so many people a day, so they will slowly only be accessible to those who pay the premium prices. I'm not sure if it is primarily a autograph show, its not a model that you can scale up.
  12. I wish you Duke'ers would start shouting for one of the names we haven't had. Surly you haven't met those either, and they're harder to get.....
  13. Brooketessmacherfan, can you post the source picture that the tattoo was copied from?. I'm just intrigued to see how close it is. I've been watching way too much LA Ink!
  14. I love how you keep asking for the same names FlashStorm. I must admit that your dedication to the cause is quite amazing.
  15. I think there is fair to say that there is now a dominance of Space related stalls. There is barely anybody selling photographs, and handful of mixed autograph dealers....
  16. Does the 'VIP astronaut' pass mean that there is a plan for more Apollo guests?, or can you give some more background as to why these changes have taken place?
  17. There's nothing wrong with screen grabs, and if done correctly they can look great - with no blurriness, or faults at all. Who ever does this for Showmasters needs extra practice, or there needs some serious quality control. I'd rather not meet the guest, than have a horrible picture I can't display, or do anything with. It's just something that needs improving.
  18. I agree that some of the quality is poor. But it confuses me how some of them ever get printed. Surly you'd do a test print to make sure its suitable, before printing hundreds. Many are poorly cropped, out of focus, or the source image is just too small for 8 x 10 photographs. Why would anybody want any of those on their wall?.
  19. At those prices, Like Buzz he might be busy in the morning. But I recommend him bringing a crossword for the afternoons.
  20. I'm surprised I'm the only one to comment on the price. It appears that this price is the highest he's ever changed? (he's cheaper at other events this year) Most other Apollo guys have often charged less for their UK visits, what has happened?
  21. Wooooooow! Dave Scott is crazy expensive!. I was expecting around the £100 mark. Yikes!. That almost makes Buzz look cheap.
  22. There just bluffing you indio, the real reason is because I'm special!.
  23. From my memory wasn't Scott at Autographica - 13 & 14, Mitchel at Autographica (some appearances got cancelled), 17 and Duke at Autographica 13, and 18 Scott hadn't been for some time!.
